it was clean enough, although there was quite a bit of mold in the bathrooms. it was just a bit run down could definitely do with being updated.OK stay for the price I probably wouldn't stay again, there are a lot of better places for the same price in the area.
While I normally find Oaks apartments really good, I was a bit disappointed by iStay River City. Despite indicating (in both the booking and the notes) that we had 3 people (2 adults, 1 child) in the 1 bedroom apartment (which had a 3 person capacity), only one bed was set up. I also was looking forward to a swim and spa only to arrive and find these facilities were not available during our stay. While I understand that refurbishment needs to occur, I felt this should have been stipulated on the website, rather than just being a sign in the lift when we arrived, especially during school holiday period when families might like to use such facilities.
This one bedroom apartment with river views from the large balcony was quite pleasant. it was clean and comfortable albeit a little dated. The only cons were the lack of toiletries etc, which I am glad I read about before I visited - they were available but you had to pay $6 for the privilege. There was also no spare blanket and only one spare pillow. Service staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and I did not hear other people or city noises. Only stayed the one night, but it would have been a great location for a longer stay, very close to all the city has to offer - it was good having the kitchen, if required. Note that you have to have your own beach towel if you go to the pool, or use your bath towel - they do have extras but again you have to pay.
Stayed here for two nights twice .. depending on which side of the building your room is will deteriorate your view ...I had a great view when facing Mary street . This place is close to lots of different food outlets so that's good .. easy to get there if driving also .. the rooms are ok , there a little dated and cleaning is definitely done in a hurry ...you get the basic milk & sugar for tea ' coffee . A plus is the liveability of the apartments / rooms & the tv has cable Wichita is good for a boring night in an unfamiliar city .. overall I would give it 6.5 out of 10 .
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and I was very pleased with the size and cleanliness of the unit. There is a very large verandah - although the view from our room was of the office block next door - but this was not a problem for us as we were out and about enjoying the QPAC theatre, the restaurants and the wonderful Catamaran public transport. This accommodation is very central and a great price. We parked our car onsite for $25.00 per night. The staff were pleasant and helpful and we will be staying there again.
On a well earned break to Brisbane I chose stay for a few reasons. 1. It was a week-end stay only and Wanted to be i n the heart of the city as Brisbane has any things tom offer and all within walking distance, stay was centrally located. 2. The accomodation was a great price for the budget minded and I felt an apartment allowed me to cook in if I chose and it was a haven to relax when staying in the heart of the city. I was in the city for what I wanted to do and not because of a more popular Brand name hotel. 3.The hotel have become GREEN, so no more dinky bottles of product that no one really needs when on holiday and I felt this was a winner for me.
We stayed on the 23rd Floor and could see story bridge. Can't complain about the location . Bathroom was looking tired and the door seems to be an inch or 2 too short for the frame, meaning poor sound insulation from conversation in the the corridor and the lift. Please note there's also construction next door happening
I have stayed here before, and find it is close to everywhere I go to in Brisbane. The Apartments are Clean and modern. There are plenty of cafes, Restaurants and Bars close by. As well as City shopping. The Facility has Parking at a price, which I have been Happy to pay the extra for to keep my car Safe while in Brisbane.
I like this place - it's good to have an inner-city apartment with everything you need and such great city views from the balcony. These apartments are well equipped but only service if you are there for a longer stay. Once you know this you can easily get any supplies that you need nearby. It is in a great location for work, shopping, eating, running etc. I will definitely stay here again. Staff are lovely and helpful too.
I always stay in Oaks! Great location. Everything within walking distance. Good for work and holiday location. Clean and a good size. Good balcony area! Would definitely recommend this location & oaks in general.
