Take me back to the 80's but in a good way. I loved it. The room we stayed at was very spacious and we had the view of the church. Room was clean, bed was comfy and we even had a nice couch. No, it's NOT luxurious but it is comfortable and actually fits the "Breisach picture". Location is great! The reason why I took of a point, is that the bathroom could use an update, I showered and by the time I was done the whole floor was wet :( Also there is a very "musty" smell when you walk up the stairs to the lobby, it's kind of off putting. Otherwise nice hotel that I would return to.
Our first time this hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised. Good location, the service efficient and friendly. Cleanliness: very good. We definitely recommend the hotel and have no problem returning for a future stay.
The food in the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good and our personable waiter Gabor made such a difference in pointing us to suitable dishes and even showing us the fish specials. Really enjoyable stay despite the poor weather.
Excellent, excellent, excellent - the staff were very friendly, and ever helpful for our group. The food was great and I would highly recommend the hotel if you are staying in the lovely town of Breisach
If you crave for perceived 80s grandiose then this is the place for you. Cavernous and maze like structure does not give the feeling of a hotel. Disguarded hotel interior decorstions adorn the lower level, which would be best put out of the guest view. Staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was OK although understaffed and food ran out quickly. Location up the hill was nice.
I will write about the restaurant, I didn't stay in a hotel only had a lunch. I had a lunch with three of my friends, First of all server young lady was polite but very slow, even if the balcony was not full we were waiting longer to give our orders, then we wait again to receive our drinks and of course food, we didn't receive right food that we ordered. And we received food first than cutlery. Second - food - we ordered 4 different dishes and at the end we received same thing which was some sort of seasoned salad, we order food from one server received I guess from one of the chefs, at the end I received raviolis, they were disaster, sauce was overcooked, raviolis were "swimming"in the oil. Food is pricey for what you receive. The only positive thing is view of the river, but it is not worth it. Hopefully is a better situation with the hotel itself.
I stayed two nights. Breakfast was good, not too many choices, but affordable. Also reception is so neat. Giant moth entered to my room, when the light was off. Night shift reception tried to catch the moth in my room, but she didn't find. I cannot sleep until 2am. I locked the moth in the bathroom, morning shift reception get the moth and help me to pass the my bathroom. It was so relieving. Hotel corridor windows are all open during the night, there was lot of inspects. Position and view is quite good.
Best Western: we stayed 1 night on out vacation trip towards Italy. Rooms were good. Breakfast was excellent and service was above average for a BW hotel. Location was very convenient on the exit of the highway. Absolutely a nice place to stay on route
Great location, very good prices for food at the hotel. Mediocre service. The children's bed had peaces of glass chards in it. When we commented the hotel fixed the problem but no compensation. The hotel room had no ac and poor ventilation which was a bit of a problem when it was around 30 celsius outside.
Our room had a balcony overlooking the river, the stay at the hotel was very pleasant and the quality of the breakfast was exceptionally good, we arrive a little late and the hot buffet in the restaurant, although good value was no longer hot!!
