I always wanted to stay in this hotel. I like checking hotels in my hometown, Bratislava. This is a pretty old hotel and I remember when they opened it 20 years ago or so. All fancy events were happening here. The front desk employees were very friendly during check in. I was able to get 2pm late check out. Thanks! I really liked the light in the bathroom. All hotels for some reason have very bright light. This bathroom had actually an intimate light under the sink so you have 2 different lights. Bed was very big and comfy. I understand the level of costumer service of F&B people in Slovakia is often not as high as let's say in the US where I live but the server/barista in the café was very unprofessional. I ordered an espresso and my friend an americano. The americano was't made properly (he just let run coffee machine longer instead of pouring espresso into hot water) so we returned it and told the server to make us another one. He charged us for 3 coffees!!! Of course I denied to pay for 3 coffees so he fixed the bill. He was very surprised that I asked for it. I mentioned this to the management as well. Of course this shouldn't be the reason why you should choose a different hotel but he really pissed me off. I've never seen anything like this in my life! The spa is nothing special, it's just old. If you can choose another hotel stay in downtown and enjoy the old town. Holiday Inn is not a cheap hotel. The view from hotel room is nothing special. Just a neighborhood where I grow up.
My stay was for three nights (four days), check-out time 12 p.m. The hotel staff is pleasant and always willing to provide the necessary information. They drew me locations of bus stops and explained the bus lines to the city center and back. Line 61 goes to the airport and the bus stop is 5 minutes away. The trolleybus 208 drives directly to Hodzovo namestie in the city center, and back to Mliekarenska station near the hotel, but the final start is around 8:20 p.m. So you have to use another line if you plan to come back or go to the city after that time. The accommodation is nice and cleaned daily, also the towel change is regular. Rooms have a TV and minibar, they also provide room service. Breakfast was amazing, everything you could want for breakfast was there, time was from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. so if you get up early you can have the entire day exploring Bratislava or go to Vienna which is near and tickets are cheap(5 to 8 euros one way). The pool is working from 6:30 a.m. until 9:45 p.m, also the fitness center (a gym). The sauna is available from 11 a.m. until 9:45 p.m. This is all included in the price of the stay for all guests. The hotel has also Thai massage and a hairdresser, but are additionally scheduled and paid. The city tax was not included and is about 1,70 euro per night per person. The internet connection is strong in every part of the hotel. My highest recommendations to stay here if you choose for any reason to visit this beautiful Slovak capital.
We stayed in this hotel for one night due to business occasion and it was good. Nice clean rooms, lots of space. Breakfast was also tasty and rich. Staff was very helpful and polite. Hotel is located around 4 km from the city centre, we walked for around 40 minutes to reach it.
I spent 4 nights with 4 other business colleagues in the hotel to work on a project. Nice city for sightseeing, food and beers. For the serious part of our journey we rented a meeting room for 2 days in the hotel. Overnight we let the workshop material in the room since we could lock the door. Next day, we found the room too well cleaned up since our material worth approx. €100 just „disappeared“. During 2 days we asked receptionist again and again to help us on this situation but the only answer we‘ve got was that they couldn’t find our pens, post-it’s, writing pads etc. and the responsible cleaning worker has his days off and turned off his phone... Apart from that: rooms, swimming pool and breakfast are ok but hotel is overpriced compared too average salary and too far away from center. So you will need a taxi to go there. Use Uber whenever possible since there are still some few taxi drivers around who use cheating business models and charges you 35€ for one way (with taximeter!) instead of 7€ resp. 4€ with Uber.
Greeting from sunny Baku, Azerbaijan. I was travelling with my family. The hotel is a little bit away from the city center, but it's OK. I really enjoyed staying at this wonderful hotel. I'd like to thank all the staff at this hotel (Guest Service Agents, F&B and HK). Special thanks to Ms. Michaella at the desk and Mr. Jiri at the restaurant for his excellent and gentle service. We'll be back again. Natig M
Stayed there 10+ times., Location, own car or taxi need. Check in, quick, staff very helpfull and positive. Bar is ok, but lots of cigarret smell, beer selection is not the best. Restaurant, furniture looks cheap, also noise from kitchen,, but food is excellent and so servis. Breakfast, high selection. Small pool, sauna, sunbed, small gym,, is a big bonus. I stayed on top floors, nice view. Sleep quality is very high. Nothing negative within all of my stayees
Being a platinum member of IHG Rewards program I often chose Holiday Inns but this stay was a disappointment: small rooms with minimum amenities, poor breakfast, 'tired', out of date interiors. It seems that the staff at reception never heard of benefits for platinum members - I was told that the hotel cannot provide the services which are enumerated in official benefits package. And yes - the hotel is pretty far from city center.
Nice hotel. There was never adequate staff at reception leading to long delays in getting Basic information . A/c was poor and only worked properly on one night. The bus stop to town was quite a distance and the hotel never had bus tickets for sale. Breakfast was good.
Plan 4 - 7 euro to go the center. Enjoy the swimming pool and the fitness center. Good location for ruzinov. Breakfast standard. And service limited for the bar. But at least you can enjoy the terrace. The bedroom is nice but I could not manage to operate the lights with switches and the bath
I sayed for a couple of nights in this hotel. It is not in the center of town but you can always take public transport or a taxi . You can save a lot of money this way and stay in a really confortable place. Parking prices are also reasonable way ore expensive downtown), we left our car there while we cycled the Dabube trail to Baja near Croatian border. The hotel is set back from the road so it s quiet. The rooms are comfortable, clean and bright. No issues. The front desk people were extremely pleasant and accomodating with all the questions. Try the Thai massage right in the hotel. I enjoyed it to relax my muscles ahead of 6 days of cycling. Very nice!
