We stayed here a couple of nights in a very pleasant room overlooking the sea.Within walking distance of the town, although there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. All the staff we encountered were friendly & helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first evening and the meal was disappointing. The following evening we ate in their pub and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Parking is very limited & the hotel is rather tired in places but this would not deter us from returning at some point in the future.
very good service, excellent and attentive staff. The hotel is very well located, with a good view of the sea, the hotel offers many leisure areas, a good place to rest a quiet and very clean environment in all areas of the hotel mainly in the rooms.
another lovely stay at the Suncliffe. beautiful hotel located on eastcliffe over looking the beach. staff are all lovely and go out of there way to help you. rooms are always cleaned to an excellent standard. food is served in a relaxed atmosphere . would highly recommend a trip here
It is only possible to review as personal experience identifies. The problems befgin at arrival - terrible car park arrangements are very frustrating. Whilst the 'welcome' staff at check in do a reasonable job, the initial impression of the vestibule is disappointing. Then the lift is needed for upper floors and this is a totally inadequate offering - too small, too slow, too erratic and even shared with service personnel at peak times such as for breakfast services. The allocated Single room is so depressingly small as to immediately diminish enthusiasm for the establishment. All essentials are provided and basic but there is no space in this micro offering for added comfort. Certainly could not take the proverbial cat for a swing in this accommodation. The 'pub' bar is not too bad at it's level of expectation but extremely over priced for the drinks. The positive feature is that the staff do try their best. The breakfast facility offer a fair choice but the overall impression of the room/restaurant is dull and dated. If this place appeals, it must be for a select style of holiday maker whose tastes are perhaps easily pleased!
We have stayed at this hotel several times. The position of the hotel is convenient for the beach and the town with a view over the sea from the Isle of Wight to Poole. Plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants. nearby. The best value for money hotel in Bournemouth.
Stayed on 12th -14th sept. For the cost of a dbl room 2 nights inc 3 course meal on 1st night for us both and breakfast was only.£147.00.. so wasnt expecting much. I did upgrade for a further £60.00 for a terrace and sea view. But for what we had was still cheap.. My god. From the welcome when arrived to the checkout, SUPERB SERVICE, no complaints. Such friendly helpful staff. Room was spotless. It Was my husbands 60th and our wedding anniversary. They put a card in the room and a plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate with some cake on. Meal was lovely and breakfast selection was brilliant. Didn't get to use facilities but there was something for everyone. I feel what this hotel offers you wouldnt even get in one of the mega expensive hotels down the road. We will return and looking forward to next stay.
Perfect location perched on the Cliff overlooking the beautiful bay and easy walk to town. Hotel is one of three and you have access to the restaurants and amenities, pool and gymn. However we were given a standard room for our £95 with the option to upgrade for £30 extra per night, although I had read in the reviews that people were upgraded with no extra charge. I think the upgrade cost is how the hotel makes their money. Our room is very basic tucked away at the back, horrible bathroom with a toilet that you have trouble flushing etc...we made the mistake of booking 6 nights without seeing the place first. But, as I said it's a great location.......and a lovely city.
Stayed one night for business and was mightily impressed! Really friendly, welcoming staff, should-be-legendary burger from great bar menu, fine pint of ale, room great value (with excellent shower in en-suite). Highly recommended!
We stayed at the Suncliffe hotel in September 2017 for a birthday treat for two nights. The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool and sauna are really a nice way to relax. Very nice breakfast and we had a good meal in the Suncliffe and then the following night we went into their sister hotel the Cumberland which is next door and had a really lovely meal. Our only criticism was that the bathroom was very tired looking and the shower was not very good. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we would go back.
My partner and I decided to go away for a night and take the opportunity of what seemed a "good deal" As we approached the hotel, parking was limited yet good for the surroundings- as for the interior, the reception was deceiving and actually put my hopes up for the rooms and facilities. For a sea view room you received a creaky old bed, damp carpets and mould on the ceiling- the furniture is dated followed by a vintage smell. We had the choice to change room which we found there was no improvement! definitely not returning anytime soon. As for the "spa" The ladies changing room had a broken shower followed by urine on the floor. The gents wasn't much better. If you plane to go swimming I recommend you have your vaccinations prior to visiting.
