We took advantage of an offer for DBB at an excellent rate. On arrival at 1200 the receptionist was helpful, efficient and friendly. Also, our room was available early too! The room was basic but clean with bath & shower. We took advantage of the swimming pool but the spa pool was not working. This was fixed later in the day though. We had a very good meal in the bar that evening as the dining room menu did not seem so inviting. Recommended.
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff here. We stayed (as a family in two adjacent rooms) for one night, there were two other weekend functions however this didn't mean the staff were ignoring their other guests. The car park was relatively small and packed so we had to park roadside, it's free 6pm-9am. Breakfast was a hot buffet, with the option for omelettes to order and freshly baked croissants if asked for. Attentive staff and all the food was regularly topped up. Bed was comfy and we slept really well. Hotel seems to be having a gradual refurb, the lobby and bar are lovely, given time I expect the whole hotel will be updated. It doesn't detract from the stay, it wasn't bad, in the slightest; just ever so slightly tired. Great location too, only a 10 minute walk into the town centre, we walked in for dinner in the evening and shopping the next morning! Happy to stay again.
Stayed in hotel last night with my son as we were going to the uni open day. Unfortunately having paid a little more for a “nice” hotel to treat him I was very disappointed. The room was not clean, stains on the bed clothes, huge amounts of grout missing in between the floor tiles, holes in the side of the bath, a constantly dripping tap and electrics that I’m sure do not pass Regulations, and that was just our room. Breakfast menu looked good, however everything promised was not out on the buffet and when asked about missing items they said they would bring those to our table. After 20mins of waiting we gave up and left. The dining room was shabby with dirty walls and peeling wallpaper and 2 packets of crisps and one coke and one soda water at the bar the night before cost nearly £7!
Not one for a bad review but really not worth the money. Booked this place as a little stopover for a beach day. Easy enough to find but staff didn’t show us the spa, restaurant or anything. The building is very dated and seems like they only really want to cater for the guests paying lots of money for a function etc. Bed was comfy but the floorboards creek like mad so, as someone who sleeps through pretty much anything, I was awake most of the night as I assume our room was under a Hall/stairwell. Nothing majorly wrong but considering we saw other hotels nearby that looked 100 times better, and from research found they were he same price, we wouldn’t go again. Also, looks nothing like the pictures on here, I actually had to double check I was reviewing the right place!
You get what you pay for, average price, accessible hotel, close to everything. Reception service is very good and attentive, good with children, on my second day had a call on the room that I had to check out when my check out day was the day after, but was sorted and apologize in the end. The indoor pool is the bonus, very good especially for those with young children, makes their day, jacuzzi was not working for the both days we been in for my sadness, they have as well sauna which is good. Breakfast is good but I would prefer the standard buffet when you have all variety of food to choose from, rather than ordering a la cart. Rooms are good size and well stoked, but being a old building you can ear everyone around you at any time. Bar there's good variety of drinks and snacks, busy sometimes, would prefer to being brought my drinks to the table than having to carry a tray to the table, when I'm still in an Hotel and i was having some days off work. Don't know if I would return with so many options in Bournemouth.
We went as a Golf Breaks party and the hotel was geared for groups. There were two large coach parties and two other golf groups. The food was good even though catering for large numbers and the service very good. Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. The dining room was very hot. The rooms were well kept but the bathroom needed a refurb. The shower was a hand held attachment with a wall fixing. The front of the hotel was quite noisy with the windows open .
My partner and I originally booked this hotel for 2 nights as a relaxing break away. Check in was fast & easy, and the staff were all very friendly. We noticed our bathroom had a leak, so having told reception we were upgraded. Carol (I think that was her name!) the manager on duty for the evening was absolutely fantastic and upgraded us to a suite for the night - which was absolutely amazing! Having been through a tough time lately and needing a bit of R&R we were over the moon with feeling like royalty for the evening! We ended up booking to stay for another night (not in the suite, but another lovely room they offer) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay with this hotel. Thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming and friendly, we will definitely be back! :)
On arrival the staff were excellent, they were well ordered and helpful. The rooms were fine with TV plus coffee and tea, and wifi is free once you log in. The food we were served was a high quality and the table service very very good. The staff knew what to do. The Spa facilities are good and used often. The town is a short walk, but do not go down the windy path it's hard work coming back up unless you're a fit person. The cliff railway was lost a couple of years ago. The beach is sand and the pier is enjoyable My friends and I had a good time. To all readers just enjoy
Location excellent for the town and East Cliffs. Limited parking on-site but overnight street parking free if you can nab a space. Staff are friendly and attentive, menu for evening meal varied and quality good. Bar lacks character but large enough for the establishment. Breakfast above average but choice of fruits an acquired taste eg grapefruit. Twin bedded room spacious and beds comfortable but narrow for the girthly challenged. Room could easily have taken two mini doubles. Lifts quaint with no lengthy waits.
Came here with my partner for a dinner and dance with a group of people. Lovely food throughout the weekend. Staff were very helpful polite and nothing seemed trouble for them. Rooms were clean and tidy and beds comfortable. All in a lovely hotel and very enjoyable stay. Would go back without hesitation.
