The room I arrived to (15) was awful! The bed was obviously worn out on the side away from the window and the bed squeaked whenever I moved. The road noise defied that there were windows and doors. The toilet was not bolted firmly to the floor. Not a single picture on the wall. The kitchenette had barely enough cooking and eating utensils for a basic meal. The second night I thought I’d sleep on the side of the bed closest to the window out of desperation, but when I pulled back the sheets I questioned whether the sheets had been changed. After a second sleepless night on the worn side of the bed I requested a room change. To their credit I was moved to a much more comfortable room, though without apology or credit. Room 9 did not have a kitchenette, but did have a microwave and small fridge. It had been remodeled and was much quieter (road noise) and the bed was comfortable. That being said the walls are paper thin as I discovered when I had neighbors on either side for the remainder of my stay. Those three nights people were in and out at all hours, TVs blaring and loud and sometimes apparently drunken chatter. I knew when I made the reservation that this was a budget option to avoid the crazy September rates in Estes, but I wouldn’t stay again based on the above.

No frills motel

No frills motel! Our first night the bed was terrible. But we asked at the desk for a different room and this bed was a bit better. The newly remodeled room much better than the older rooms.. the pool is not very clean. The water was hot in the shower. Room towels are likely washed with bleach they have that smell. . And the rooms were clean.

Cute and cozy, and kinda uncomfy

This is a very cute little place, just a few minutes from town. It's an older hotel, so there is much that can't be changed. It was clean, the a/c worked great, and the towels were nice and fluffy. But the beds could be upgraded - it was pretty uncomfortable and made so much noise you woke up every time you moved. My kids were on the sleeper sofa, and the entire end of the 'bed' had ripped from the frame, so if you sat there (or even set your bag there) you/it fell all the way through. I don't know if I've ever felt a pull out mattress with springs that prominent, either. It was pretty awful. Showers are tiny, and my 8 year old had trouble getting any of the water to even hit her. I'm not sure how you could change the shower head though. Water pressure was great for me! We actually stayed in 2 different rooms and the first one could really use a hook for the hand towel. We had to leave it in the wet sink, or on the toilet paper.

This place is really an old run down roadside motel, probably built in the 1950’s. It also has about 4 cabins, and we rented one of those. This place has potential because of its proximity to Lyons and Estes Park, but it looks like no one has invested a dime in it for years. It was cheap, so we made it work, but I would not stay there again.

Beautiful scenery

Rustic, comfortable hotel with a beautiful view of the mountains, with a river flowing across the street. Folks were friendly and the bed was super comfy; will definitely be staying there again on the next trip.

We got here and no one was at the office. We called and no one answered. It was extremely hot and when the woman got there she was not very friendly. She gave us an envelope and asked for my ID. We got into the cabin and it was stifling hot. We turned the window unit on and looked for fans. The loft bed was not made up. The linens were balled up in a pile on the floor. It was hotter than the first floor. The stairs to the loft are nearly impassable and the stairs do not have enough space to place your foot firmly on it when getting down. So dangerous. It’s like a spooky ladder needless to say the loft was not used. Granted this is a cabin. There are holes in the window seals leaving openings for every insect on the forest to come hang out. This place is extremely run down. We stayed in cabin 19. There is a door leading to the next cabin that is locked with a clasp. You can see through the crack. We could actually see the people in the next cabin. It was kind of creepy. This is one of the worst stays I’ve experienced in my many years and I feel I was being generous with a 3 star rating. Way over priced. The reason I gave a 3 is because we loved the location and the fact we could walk down to the water. We loved the outside of the cabin except for the broken stair going into our cabin.

Once we switched away from a room which was not set up well and was hard to move around, we were very comfortable in a room with kitchenette. The road noise bothered us in the day but was quiet at night. The shower stall was miniscule, but the beds were great. The heater/air-conditioner was quiet and worked well. It was close to Longmont, and the great little town of Lyons with wonderful restaurants. It had easy access to Estes Park which we visited. They didn't answer the phone nor return calls. Otherwise, the staff was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
