The air conditioning did not work and the room was not very clean. We tried to complain but the person in reception only spoke French (or so he said) .. We only stay one night so its all we have to say..
Stayed for the weekend with 90 other colleges to take part in a rugby competition. Very friendly staff, superb breakfast and bar area... train station outside hotel with journey of 15 mins into city centre.
This hotel has been renovated and the comfort of the rooms is excellent. It is possible that some GPS have the old entrance indicated. The restaurant like many in France is hostile to the vegetarian and even the prawns are served with slices of fried sausage. At breakfast the muesli is so full of sugar to be uneatable, and slices of the cereal bread are hidden away in a drawer. Despite this, the personnel do their very best if they have time for you. Unfortunately, the restaurant at breakfast was a real mess.
We needed to be in Bordeaux early one morning and this ended up ticking all our boxes. Easily accessible from motorway/peripherique. Free parking, but superb and inexpensive access to centre of city by tram which was about 100m away. Friendly staff. Can't comment on restaurant as we ate in the city and didn't need breakfast.
19/9/17 to 21/9/17. This a low-rise Novotel in a great location next to Bordeaux Lac. It’s close to the autoroute around the west of Bordeaux, and there’s a tram stop right outside for access to the City Centre. The rooms are typical Novotel and not very big. For the price paid they are nothing special. We ate in the restaurant which was quite expensive – as were the drinks. The steak was excellent, but the pasta dish was disappointing. There is a small outdoor pool which was still available to use and there is a very pleasant outdoor sitting area. They have airport-style luggage trolleys for you to use in transporting suitcases etc. which was a good idea.
Great location by a lake and only 15 minutes away from center by train. Extremely family friendly: amazing play room (xbox, etc.), gift upon arrival, modestly priced kids menu, heated pool, free breakfast for children. Nice restaurant and terrace. The size of the family room is relatively small but it is nicely furnished.
Pro's: Superb location with easy access by tram to city. Excellent service. Outstanding breakfast. Compact but well laid out comfortable rooms. Loo separate! Cons: Disappointing restaurant. Menu bore no resemblance to on line menu....or even to the one in the room!! No snacks (sandwich etc.) available afternoons. Top range room had paper cups!! (Only 2.....if we go again, we'll take our own mugs!) Parts of the hotel very tired....even tatty eg hole in carpet in our room. Letters missing on signs. Handrails on stairs broken.
In front of the lake quiet easy acces to the town or highway Noce rooms a gym and casino or restaurants nearby Breakfast is fine but a suggestion though: add more coffee machines in the morning Pool outside
Novotel bordeaux is situated in the conference area. 15min from city center and appr 20min from airport. Car can be parked in secured area. Myself, wufe and childeren had a room 2+2. The staff helped us with a early check in appr at noon. Many thanks therefore. Pool is small. The room was ok for one night. Price quality for that specific night was good. Unfortunately we found a cup which was already used and the curtain are torn (see picture). Anyway no daylight came in but it is not what I expect from a 4* hotel.
As part of a 3 week journey starting from Guernsey through France onto the Costa Brava we needed an overnight stop over before pushing on to Spain. This hotel was very welcome after a long drive on an increasingly hot day! The reception staff were very welcoming and the children's gift was a sweet touch. Our family room was large and although on the ground floor near the outside eating area it was very quiet. The children loved the facilities and jumped straight into the pool and we spent a nice afternoon relaxing. The pool is small but we weren't really expecting too much as most Novotel/Ibis don't have any pools, so it was an added bonus. This was the first few days in August and the hotel was busy but i imagine not at its capacity. The pool wasn't very crowded at all and we were able to play the on site boules several times and the children were able to play one of the table football games uninterrupted as we enjoyed a long drink in the pleasant outside area. As we were planning on an early morning departure we decided to eat on site, the food was ok but very overpriced for what it was. If we stayed again we would definitely go into Bordeaux itself to eat but we couldn't face any more driving that day. The breakfast however was very good, lots and lots of choice of the usual continental selections, fresh and good quality. Checkout was very quick and the staff again very pleasant. This hotel has nice clean modern fittings and there are plenty of different areas for relaxing in. Would stay again.
