We stayed here for 1 night as the accommodation we had booked was not suitable. We got a good deal for 1 night but we're not told that renovations were being carried out. The banging started at 07.45, the room next door was having bathroom tiles smashed off the wall. My husband complained and we were refunded half our money. A real shame we weren't warned as it is a nice hotel and very close to the casino and tram stop.
The thing that makes this Hotel was the staff - they are uniformly excellent and there are some good features about the hotel but it is mixed. 1. Location - on the outskirts of Bordeaux and right next to a Tram stop for line C it takes about 20 minutes in the centre of Bordeaux. The access is easy to Bordeaux and no hassles in terms of car parking 2. Parking - there is excellent secure car parking on site for about 8 Euros a day. This is really good. 3. The Room - we were kindly upgraded to a junior suite when we arrived which was excellent. We were there at the weekend when the hotel is quietest. The room has seen better times so the bathroom door had a hole in it, the lamp by the bedhead was hanging by its wires and the shower door wouldn't close. The room was large and well appointed 4. Renovations - there are works being done to upgrade it but this didnt have an impact. 5. Weekends - this is basically a business and conference centre hotel and so is very quiet at the weekend including the restaurant being closed so you just need to check. This is a good hotel if you want to stop over and dip into Bordeaux - staff are excellent but it needs some tweaks for improvement.
The staff are very good, friendly and helpful. The property was having some work done to it, but it didn't impose on our stay. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of continental or cooked. Rooms, clean and well appointed. The location is quite a way outside Bordeaux town centre, but the tram service is brilliant. We would certainly stay there again !
We have stopped here many times, the hotel has a large secure car park on site and is well situated for access to the Bordeaux ring road. A tram stop is directly outside of the hotel and takes 20 minutes to get you into the city centre. The rooms are a good size and the beds are large and very comfortable. The restaurant serves good food and dogs are allowed into the restaurant.
Friendly Staff, great and quiet place for relaxing and excellent restaurant . Regarding the room, it's also Perfect and confortable. Enjoy breakfast To. Easy access To downtown with the tramway. Thé Best hôtel in Bordeaux for me.
Yes this hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and that is all it has going for it. You have to get the tram to go into the city which comes every 20-30 minutes and is a 20 minute ride @ 2.50€ each way. There No shops and only a few restaurants near by. The breakfast is good thought the hot food is lukewarm at best. We had to sit at a dirty table while staff cleaned other tables and ignored us. The room was small the wardrobe holds 4 pieces of clothing. Staff were polite and the room cleaned everyday. I would not consider staying there again because of the proximity of the hotel and having to wait for trams in and out of the city.
The Pullman Bordeaux didn't hit the spot. There were several little things which individually would not have detracted greatly from the experience but when added together, left us a little disappointed. First, the 'good'. Reception staff were great. Tatiana in particular was very helpful and not only recommended a great restaurant but booked it for us as well. The view from our room was lovely. Location was perfect for easy access to the centre of town. Now the 'not so good' The air conditioning in our room was not effective. I pointed this out to reception and to their credit, we were allocated another room of exactly the same class, immediately. No complaint there. One of the elevators needs to be looked at as it would flash the 'over weight' light despite there being only 4 people (maximum capacity 6 people or 480 Kgs). This became embarrassing as we had to withdraw from the elevator on two occasions in order for it to work. The decoration inside the building could use a refresh. The corridors in particular, need some paint and a new carpet. Breakfast was disappointing. It lacked some basic provisions such as ham. Considering the number of people in the dining rom, the cheese on offer was woefully short and there was no sign of anything being replenished. The cooked breakfast such as bacon and egg, looked undercooked and therefore unappetising. Our phones and other devices kept losing wifi signal after they initially connected easily. After much frustration, we ended up using our devices without wifi. Overall, this is not the best Pullman we've ever stayed at. The standard for this brand is set by the hotels in Toulouse and Montpellier. This one needs a little TLC (tender loving care). We would probably stay again but by no means a certainty.
We stayed for five nights in a deluxe room with a lake view. Smallish room which seems fairly typical in French hotels. The hotel is quiet and nicely decorated. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was good. Aircon wasn't great . Bed had a feather topper which I found uncomfortable but the bed was too hard without it. A memory foam topper would work much better as the feathers collected in the center and made us feel like we were going to roll out of the bed. Pool area is nice . Towels are provided but sun loungers are limited. Tram to the city is right outside the door as is a citybike stand. There's a commercial center about 5 mins away by bike and some lovely cycle paths around the lake.
This hotel is easy to find and has a very big secure outdoor car park. There is no need to reserve a parking space. The check in staff were very good and we were upgraded to a room overlooking the lake, as well as getting good advice on where to visit using the tram. The tram stop is right outside the hotel and is easy to buy tickets. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good.
Return visit for a romantic weekend with hubby in Pullman Bordeaux. Very very disappointed, the hotel lobby and bar is still lovely but it goes downhill from there. The walls wood work and carpets around the hotel and marked, stained, chipped and battered everywhere. The room rate was 156e per night. We declined breakfast at the overpriced cost of 26e each. The car parking is a further 8e per day. Not cheap so we expected cleanliness and comfort The room we were given was 362. It had a foul pungent smell. The cream carpets were stained all over, no soap to wash hands and only one pair of slippers between 2. I went to reception and said I was unhappy with the room. I was immediately offered another upgraded and refurbished room. The receptionist was lovely and helpful and took me to inspect room 422. The decor and bathroom fittings were pleasantly upgraded and there was no odour but once again the carpet had huge stains. I said this was unacceptable for this price per night and I was advised it was because it had not been fully refurbished. Once again no soap and one set of slippers which I was assured would be rectified, they never arrived. We went to use the pool. It was not heated. Just a few seats and loungers and every one was taken, very few parasols or shade. We, and other guests had to sit on the concrete and my husband had to get shade from a potted plant. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, it was clearly hard and worn so the mattress had been covered in a duvet, this caused us to overheat despite the air con and we had an uncomfortable nights' sleep. On checkout we were assured that when the hotel was refurbished the standard would be higher in every room and new carpets were to be laid. We would not have booked in the hotel if we knew it was in such a worn condition. The hotel management did make a generous deduction on our bill Hopefully the refurbishment will bring this hotel back up to a good standard but until then it is grossly overpriced.
