We stayed in a family room with our 7 and 2 year old. While the room is a decent size (2 double beds plus space for a travel cot), the bathroom was shocking. It was as small as a box room with a sliding door, with a large gap between the door and the wall, giving you no privacy when going to the toilet (we ended up using the hotel public toilets). The tiles on the bathroom floor were lifting when walked onto as the grouting was either broken or missing. Due to its location, the surroundings are quite noisy with trams, cars and bars just outside. The parking is not on site and is a 5mn walk but it was fine for us. While we will visit Bordeaux again, I doubt we will be staying here again.

Lovely hotel, clean, nice breakfast, excellent links into central Bourdeaux directly across from Gare St Jean train station and tram stop. Friendly and helpful staff who spoke English. Lots of restaurants just outside the hotel to choose from. Had a lovely stay there.

The hotel is literality across the Train station, the metro line stop is next to station entrance, the bus stop for airport is next to tram stop. The room was small but it had enough space for us and our things. We were facing the tram line but it didn't disturb our sleep. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room not facing the tram line. One of the nights the fire alarm went off and we walked downstairs and waited for the night staff to check as to whats happening. It was slightly concerning that quite a few people chose to ring reception to see if it was a real fire alarm!!!! and many people with young children took their time to get out of their rooms. After about 30 or so minutes the member of staff said something in French and people started moving back to their rooms. Unfortunately, I don't speak any French so I didn't feel particularly assured that there is no fire risk and we can return to the room. Overall, we had a lovely stay at the hotel, although I would prefer that in future any announcements involving fire alarms and other serious issues are also made in English.

We were due to arrive at the airport around 9:15 pm, after which we had to make our way to the Hotel. The following morning we needed to leave around 7:30 am to pick up tickets for a different part of our journey and before catching a train to St Emilion. Everything worked perfectly-the check in, the check out, the wifi and the bed we found nice and comfortable. The staff were also very amenable, friendly and sympathetic. The second time, when we actually had a little more time in the room also worked out equally well. We did have a problem logging onto the internet but I solved this by logging on in Reception. We chose this Hotel on location and price - we were able to book in advance and had a good deal. Someone else might look at the review and think I am being over generous -it is not a Pullman Hotel, there is not a bar but it was just what we wanted for 2 separate nights in a Hotel in Bordeaux near the train station. And in the same circumstance we would be more than happy to return.

I've stayed at an Ibis hotel in the past and had a good experience, I wish I could say the same about this hotel. I am used to small hotels in Europe but this takes it to the next level. We booked a room for 3 people and paid extra for this. Our room had one double bed and one twin bed. The room was cramped and very warm. The airconditioning was inadequate and it took more than 4 hours before the room cooled down to a comfortable temperature. The phone in the room was broken so I had to walk down to the lobby each time to complain about the room A/C. The staff was responsive and they came to the room twice to check on our issues. The bathroom was really small. I am not obese (5'8 and 170 lbs) but there was barely enough wiggle room inside the shower stall. What are the good features of this hotel: 1. Very near the Bordeaux Gare St. Jean train station. It is literally just steps away from the main entrance of the station. Soundproofing in the room was not bad. I could still hear the trains but we were all able to sleep through the night. 2. There is adequate underground parking nearby due to its proximity to the train station. 3. Free wifi. 4. Rooms were relatively clean but the room amenities were sparse. 5. Rooms are cheap, however, you get what you pay for. Due to our issues with the inadequate airconditioning, I will personally avoid staying at this hotel in the future.

For some reason Accor has decided to refit this hotel with a vile brown colour scheme with inadequate storage space and a desk in a dark cubby hole around the corner. It is sort of functional and the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is cramped but everything works. Unfortunately our air conditioning leaked and we were given a new room which was actually slightly worse designed. It would have been OK but we had to repack and leave our bags and return to the hotel rather than the staff doing it for us. Overall poor service. Breakfast was good although the room too small for the number of guests making it cramped and on one day we could not get in. At least they refunded this which is not something we got for the leak. Best avoided although it is convenient for the station.

The hotel offers the standard Ibis style hotel bed and service. I felt the room was fine for 1 person, but not suitable for a couple. It was quiet, no noise from the station or the brasseries or tram. The fitting out of the bathroom was not thought over, a walk in shower would have been better than the bath where some manoeuvring was required to get in and out, certainly not suited for those suffering from knee problems. Wifi was very slow, sometimes inexistant. Staff was in general courteous and helpful.

One of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. Nevertheless this was typical IBIS. Clean, well maintained and reliable. This is an old French Hotel (Le Faison) taken over by IBIS and fully renovated. Perfect for us opposite the station and close to Tram and Bus. We asked for a quiet room and this is what we got. Even though the room was very small we were well satisfied for the quality and price. Cafes and restaurants nearby. The Terminus is great for breakfast. Typical French café

This hotel's name before take over of Accor Hotels last year was du Faisan, so it's a bit strange that TripAdvisor still keep the old reviews. Anyway, my 1 night's stay was very satisfying, despite the fact that the room with double bad had awkward placement of the bed, which made my room smaller. There were 3 towels of same size, but not the big one=bath towel. Breakfast was great but a bit strangely arranged on take self board. These are however minor things, which I'm sure the management will take care of to improve. Location is perfect, worth every star of five.

The twin bed room was clean and good. Bathroom was a bit tiny but ok for the price and location. WiFi was ok. We had nice view of the Station. Very quite ! Breakfast was ok. Staff is very polite and helpful. Easy access for local transport too. A lot of restaurants around and at the station. I would go back to Ibis Bordeaux.Good Price !
