Great neighborhood with a beautiful view of grandfather mountain. Good hiking in the Moses Cone Forest. Only complaint was they could use a new frying pan and a few wine glasses. Otherwise an amazing location.

3 year old birthday ski trip

The cabin was in a perfect location and had all the necessary amenities to facilitate a lovely weekend celebrating my daughter's 3rd birthday. There was plenty of space and toys for my daughter to play, adults to relax and everyone work together to bring delicious meals to the table.

Mountain Getaway

The location was perfect for what we wanted. The large space and various different things in the house for entertainment were great! The hot tub, pool table, air hockey table, toys in upstairs loft were fantastic. Really enjoyed the large bedrooms, and bathrooms, and having fullsize laundry room was great. The place was clean, but attention could be given to the light fixtures and fans. The ceiling fan in the kitchen area was covered with dust and cobwebs. Also, the master bathroom shower fills up with water when taking a shower and by the time one is done in the shower, the wayer is above the ankle. Overall, we would stay here again. The large house, the mountain/cabin feel, proximity to activities, views, amenities at the house were all fantastic.

Full Circle

We are Native Floridians and always want to have the wonderful experience of snow. We vacationed with our adult children and 3 grandbabies in hopes to see snow. We checked in on Saturday and on Sunday morning my grandbabies woke up to snow falling on the ground! How exciting, my grandson came running into my room, grandma, grandma, get up! it's snowing! It makes my heart flutter and my eyes tear up just typing this. It was such a wonderful Blessing. We had a wonderful stay. We went tubing (I even tubed with them), they skied at Appalachian Ski Resort, and visited Grandfather Mountain. The home was PERFECT for our family, beautiful and comfortable. All our needs were taken care of. Thank You for sharing your home and giving our family the opportunity for a family vacation.

Wonderful Christmas Getaway

We loved our stay at Racoon's Paw Lodge. The lodge has a great layout with a large Livingroom that is open to the kitchen and dining room. It was wonderful because we could all be together without being on top of each other. I also appreciated that whoever was cooking or cleaning did not have to be away from the fun!

Family Trip

The house was perfect for our group of 7 adults and 3 kids. There was plenty of space for everyone, games for the kids, and extremely cozy! The hot tub and game room were awesome and it wasn't too far away from everything. We forgot a few items and they called the next day and said they would ship it to us for free. We looked everywhere for the racoon paw print but didn't have any luck, guess we will have to go back next year! Highly recommend this house. Check in/check out was a breeze and they communicated very well with us!

We had a wonderful time at this property. It has a beautiful view, it is well stocked, and it is very spacious. We enjoyed all the extras the house had to offer such as the fire pit, hot tub, and short drive to a great walking trail. We hope to book again next year. Fantastic Experience

We all greatly enjoyed our stay at the Racoon's Paw Lodge. Our party was 7 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room to accommodate us all. It was a very convenient to Sugar Mountain though I definitely can see why the 4WD would be a must during the winter months. We did not have any significant snow during our stay but the roads/driveway would have likely been treacherous if we had.

Very Clean Large Cabin

We enjoyed the cabin which was fully stocked to meet all our needs. The location was great and close to Sugar Mountain, Grandfather mountian and both Boone and Bannner Elk towns. The cabin is in a gated community with other homes near by so you had to drive to really hike. I would recommend this cabin if you like being in a gated community and close to attractions.

Great location, nice cabin!

Great Location, the drive up to the cabin is a little step agree you would need four wheel drive for winter months. Beautiful secluded cabin, they are building a cabin that you will be able to see through the woods other than that secluded cabin in a gated community. The only reason I gave it four stars is because from the other reviews I was expecting it to be very clean. The cabin needed a good deep cleaning there were signs that areas weren't cleaned like hair bows laying by toilet and accumulated dust in areas. The beds are firm for those who may struggle with firm beds but we were okay. Great view, nice bathrooms and hot tub. We would definitely go back!

Quiet & relaxing - just what we needed

We really enjoyed our stay at Raccoon's Paw. We relaxed so much we must admit that we did not find the paw print! We will have to book again to continue our search. We enjoyed the remote & quiet location. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living room furniture was spacious and comfortable. The hot-tub was the icing on the cake for this very enjoyable property.

Mtn anniversary vacay

My husband and I celebrated our 27th anniversary in the mountains we love, near Blowing Rock and Boone. Our four children and one daughter-in-love joined in on the vacation as their work schedules permitted. The house provided plenty of room and was very clean. I loved the gated neighborhood and enjoyed seeing deer outside on the property everyday. We even had a couple raccoons trying to say hello. :). This year we had more rain than usual for our October vacation. Nevertheless, when we did not get out and about the home provided many ways to have fun with our children. (Air hockey, pool table, hot tub, and fire pit) I would highly recommend this home and would love to visit again.

First Vacation in Two Years

This home is very well located for neighboring towns like Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Linville, etc. Easy access to a private community. The house is very private within the community and has all he amenities you could want for a vacation home. The views of Grandfather Mountain from the upper deck were excellent. Don't worry about the road you see from the upper deck, we saw maybe two cars a day that came and went. The house is very comfortable and I can only imagine what it would be like in ski season. The driveway is pretty steep, but in the summer, not a problem. You will enjoy your stay at this well presented home.

Great Family Vacation Spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Racoon's Paw and loved you could see Grandfather Mountain from the back deck and family room. The hot tub was a great place to relax and there was plenty of room for everyone. The only thing we did not like was having to go pick up the keys and instructions that added more time - we are used to the keyless locks so this was a first. I highly recommend this house though - you can tell it is well taken care of.
