Visiting my son in Fort Bragg. We decided to sight see in the mountains this time. Blowing Rock is a beautiful little town to see. The hotel is in a perfect location. You can easily walk to main street. My only complaint would be wifi wasn't great. But I rarely had cell service so, it could of just been me. Quaint little hotel, in a quaint little town.

Nice hotel, good location, good parking and I would stay there again

this is an old motel that has been fixed up..it is close to downtown, a short uphill walk. rooms are small but nice decor, kind of shabby chic look. bed, linens and towels all very comfortable. the things that need most work are lighting and air conditioning. there was very little light in room, only 3 very small dim lights in room and in bathroom shower very dark, had to leave shower curtain over half open to see. only a window air conditioner in room and it couldn't keep room or especially bathroom cool, even when not that hot outside. continental breakfast good and breakfast room very nice with lots of space. for the high price or rooms they need to spend some updating electrical for better lighting and air, otherwise was a nice older place, quiet and cute, staff nice as well with good location

Hotel has very good street appeal. Area is very safe and not far from shops and restaurants (walking distance). Stayed there at end of March, 2017. Called ahead due to delay in getting there and checked in after hours. They were very friendly and cooperative and left us a packet with key and instructions in their after hours box. Room was very clean and did not smell from smoke like so many other "non-smoking" rooms do. Our room was a standard double bed and it was modern, clean, nicely furnished with real funiture, TV with Cable channels, and a refrigerator and coffee maker. Plenty of room for two people, but probably small for 4. The lounge is spacious and well decorated. Breakfast area is large and airy and has tv. Food selection was better than most motel breakfasts and entire facility was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking too.

We actually decided not to stay here because a snow storm was starting and we wanted to get down the mountain before the roads became slippery.

Will be staying again everything was clean and up to date I don't have any complaints what so ever! Great spot with walking distance to down town and shopping!

Walking distance to many restaurants and downtown shops. Friendly staff. Daily wine and snacks in the afternoon. Had a great time here.

Could be a problem walking up the hill for some. Decent breakfast and wine reception. A few problems with cleaning staff...did not leave washcloths last day, actually made the bed with the remote left between the sheets, and forgot to leave coffee pods one night. Did receive mints on the last night there, but not on previous nights.

Small, cute little cabin like rooms. They have a super ate sitting area and a porch. I loved the cozy king bed and the heater in the bathroom.

My fiance, I, and some friends of ours spent a weekend in Blowing Rock. We visited Grandfather Moutain and a few other places on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our room at the Hillwinds Inn was warm and cozy and a great place to come back to in the cold snowy weather. We spent alot of time in our room playing games since it was so cold out at night. The lighting in the room was not the best and a table and a few chairs would have been nice as well, but overall our stay was great!

Our stay at the Hillside Inn was wonderful. We were so centrally located. We were able to walk to down town (or uptown)and the shopping was great. The con-tinental breakfast was great and the staff was won- derful. If we ever go back to Blowing Rock we will definitely stay here again. (very happily)I forgot to say the room was immaculate.

Only stayed 1 night and that was enough.

In town for a wedding, this hotel's location was perfect! Main Street was just a short walk away and you could park your car right in front of your room. The morning coffee was delicious! We went to Grandfather Mountain, which was absolutely beautiful!

The room was nicely decorated and was so comfortable. We walked a very short distance to downtown blowing rock that consisted of several nice shops. We loved that part. There is a park within walking distance which is perfect if traveling with children. We ate at Kilwins fudge shop and they have a wonderful selection of ice cream flavors, fudge, treats, and so much more. Awesome ice cream!! We traveled not very far to Grandfather Mountain and had a blast there as well. The hotel is very close to a shopping outlet and many restaurants in Boone. We also ate Barbeque at Woodlands BBQ and it was delicious. I highly recommend it. "The Blowing Rock" is right down the road and is well worth the visit. I wish we would've stayed longer to enjoy much more. The visitors center is less than a minute away and was very informative. It would've been nice to have a microwave in the room but there is one available not far from the rooms in the wonderful breakfast area. The breakfast is the best continental breakfast we've ever had. They had so much to choose from and it was all fresh and delicious. The room was overall an exquisite room. The only thing I would change is the lighting in the bathroom. The shower was really dark. We would definitely stay at HillWinds Inn again!

Room and entire hotel property was very beautiful.

The Hillwinds in Blowing Rock was very confortable and close to everything but a little pricy.

The Hillwinds Inn was cozy and comfortable. The decor was inviting to the mountains and the location was great, walking distant to excellent restaurants, gift and antique shops.
