The property was well maintained and comfortable. The location was great. I had minimal issues with housekeeping and stocking of towels. Overall, the staff was great and the facility was great! We were with a group of over 40 people and had a great time.
I love the Plaza Resort. This was my fourth trip there and it has been better every time, and never gets old. The grounds and facilities are very well maintained and the rooms have been refreshed to a very nice degree. The food served is buffet style but very varied and sufficient to allow many options. The included drink options are good, but they recently added a "premium" level fof beverages, but after using it I felt taken advantage of for the extra $75 I was charged. I noticed that others who did not pay the add on, were able to get the same "premium" beverages as I did without having the special wrist band color. I suggest just adding a couple of dollars to the room rate and scrap the add on charge then all will be fine. Regardless of this issue, my visit was still a great one and I highly recommend the site and the destination. The on site dive service Tucann Diving was EXCELLENT.
Everything was OK do not doubt ; just GO! You will have a wonderful holiday ! Everybody is very helpful, and the rooms are enormous ! Food is good and everybody is doing his best for giving you a unforgettable vacation.
Over all a nice resort. The room was not to the standard for the price we paid. The staff and dive shop are awesome! We are planning our return trip already. The food was good for all three meals. The outdoor bar was great for watching the sun set.
Pleasure resort is a very nice place to stay for your diving experience. The Dive staff is very good the food on our last visit was great but we did feel a bit rushed and we had to make the boat in the morning I recommend asking for your two boat dives in the afternoon that way you can have a nice breakfast in the morning and not feel rushed and if you wanted to you could do early morning short drive .
Big rooms with big baths. Balconies with views. Plentiful and good buffet. Friendly staff. Diving in Bonaire is like Fiji or Palau but without the long flights. Lee side of island means nearly all dive sites are protected boat rides and water entry/exit are easy. ATM (daytime availability, outside the casino) and Coffee bar would be nice additions.
My friend and I just returned from Plaza Resort Bonaire one week ago. The resort is situationally located very well on the Island. It's a very short 2 minute drive from the Airport, and equally a 2 minute drive into downtown Kralendijk's harbor. When we arrived at the resort we were greeted by Benito & a nice lady (Whose name escapes me) at the front desk. Both were very nice, provided information on the resort (Times for breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar hours, etc.), how to get to our room, and answered any questions we had. We stayed in an Ocean View Grand Suite, # 3110, which is on the second floor. The view from our balcony was stunning (See attached photos). This is one of the best views from a resort/hotel/house on the island! One thing of note: When we arrived at our room it was not cleaned after the prior guests. We contacted the front desk who apologized and sent people to clean the room. They did a wonderful job and when it was finished we were satisfied. During our week here the room was thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis which we appreciated (And of course tipped accordingly). The typical amenities of a safe, fridge, flat screen TV, air conditioner and fan were up to par. The toilet in a separate room from the shower/bath was a bit odd, but this seems to be a more European setup of which I am just not accustom. This is a Dutch Resort on a Dutch Special Province so that is to be expected! Overall, the room was beautiful. I very much recommend this specific room! The resort itself has great amenities other than the all inclusive food & beverages. The main dining area was a 1 minute walk from our door. The Coconut Crash beach bar was also about a minute from our door in the other direction. The dive shop was about a 3-4 minute walk, as were the front desk and parking lot. One negative I had seen mentioned on prior reviews was the food. For my friend and I, this was not the case. They had hired a new chef just prior to our arrival. Several of the days there he had fresh caught fish which he grilled over charcoal. This fish was incredible! The other meals and desserts were also spot on to what I had hoped they would be. If you are an American visiting Plaza Beach, make sure to try the fries with mayo - yes ... mayo! It's nothing like what we have here in the States and you will be craving it when you head home. Esther and another lady (She was from Colombia, her name escapes me at the moment) at the bar were great! They made sure our drinks were never empty and that we were enjoying ourselves at the resort and on the Island. We saw them multiple times during our stay there and they were always happy to assist us (or make us amazing drinks)! The staff learned my friend's favorite coffee drink and she had it dropped off to our table every morning for breakfast. The staff really makes this resort that much more enjoyable! The mosquitoes were bad on the Island itself, but weren't too horrible at the resort. With Hurricane Maria just to the north, winds were drastically reduced compared to the "normal" winds I had experienced on my last trip to Bonaire in 2012. It was also VERY hot, per the local news they said it was up to 50C one of the days we were there - almost unbearable to be out in the sun during the day. Speaking of being out during the day: The house reef is brilliant! The amount of fish and coral species, even just 10-15 feet off shore was such a lovely experience. In 2012 I dove every day. This trip, we explored more above water, but I snorkeled 3 different times. What an epic house reef at Plaza Resort! Overall I really cannot find anything wrong with the resort, except we were there for only 1 week and not 1 month. If you are considering visiting Bonaire and looking for a wonderful resort, Plaza Resort is where you should book! Make your reservations now - you will now regret it!
Due to hurricane Maria, we had to take 'safe haven' in Bonaire and booked the Plaza resort. We paid $1100 for 4 nights all-inclusive, it was not worth the money at all!! The hotel promises a lot on their homepage, but on the premises it is very dissapointing. We booked a junior suite which looked as it was from the 70's, smelled and our toilet was clogged. They did fix this in an appropriate matter and got us upgraded to a grand suite, which was a lot better and more modern. The thing that REALLY dissapointed us was the food, especially dinner: lack of variation, bad taste, rare combinations and certainly not worth the money you pay for it. Breakfast wasnt much better, when you get there after 9'oclock there is barely any choice left and they do not refill if you wont ask. On their website they also tell there were theme nights, we didnt see any They tell the Coconut crash bar serves snacks, well... they don't! They tell you only pay extra for 'foreign' drinks such as Heineken, well.. expect to pay extra for local drinks such as Polar as well! They tell you they serve on the beach, well... they don't! Just go and get your drinks at the bar where the staff is NOT friendly at all The overall problem we faced was that the service and price of the hotel do not align. This was not worth $1100 euro for just 4 nights, we are highly dissapointed.
This place is perfection! We came here 1 yr ago for our 35th wedding anniversary and fell in love. The staff and resort was everything we were hoping for. Since then we have been back 2 more times and now think of this place like a 2nd home and staff as Family. Quincy goes above and beyond to make us feel like Kings and Queens! The whole resort made our week extra-ordinary. We had a party every day/night. The food was fabulous, diving was awesome, the beach bar & dive shop bar always hit the spot. I truly can't say I had any thing go wrong while visiting Plaza Resort. This is my place and I am already planning my 4th trip back and bringing more friends with me. Between our special cake and flowers on our anniversary night to dancing with the "Silver Bullet" pan band, to our beautiful, over-sized ocean-view suite, to the always helpful and wonderful staff, everything is perfect. This is a great place for a vacation!
Once again the resort could not have been more welcoming and more accommodating. This is the third year that I’ve been the Trip Leader for our city’s dive club. I look forward to taking the group back. The rooms are huge and very clean and comfortable. The restaurant food was good, and Quincy was great in serving and entertaining us at dinners. But, the most special part of the resort is the Toucan Dive Shop. The staff could not do enough to make our diving the greatest! They helped to make both boat diving and resort shore diving easily accessible. Everyone at the shop was fun and helpful. They even helped with some equipment problems. The new snack bar adds a nice touch and is a pleasant place to meet after diving.
