My stay at Plaza Resort was excellent. I found the room to be very clean and comfortable. The beds (although the thin foam mattress looked hard) were quite comfortable. A/C was very quiet and cooled well. The food at the resort was very good and there were many options at each meal. Weds night is native food night and was outstanding featuring barbecue meats (ribs, brisket, chicken, steak) and there was always plenty of beer and wine on the tables. Great coffee in the morning and breakfast was a great start to a day of diving. Toucan Dive Shop on the resort property was truly outstanding and the dive masters were knowledgeable and guiding. Renee, and Haagen are great. Our boat captain and dive master for our am dives were top notch ( Rugene "Spider-Man" and Chantal). The boats were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Rental equipment was well maintained ( although I had a pressure gauge failure on day#3 which was promptly addressed and replaced with a new one. All dive activities were well monitored, safe, and fun. Guides were very friendly. A fun cocktail hour was held at the end of the week at the new "Scubar" at the dive shop. New additions are planned and should improve the dive experience including a dive shop restaurant. Overall, Plaza resort gets high marks. Location is very close to the airport and scooter and truck rentals are available on site. I would go back for another vacation there.

We chose this 4 star hotel because of the beach and the all inclusive concept. The hotel is a five minutes drive from the airport. We stayed a whole week and I seldom heard noise of the airplanes. You get a drink and refreshment towel at check in. The check in was for a whole group who booked at the same tour operator with a presentation of the grounds and hotel rules on a beamer. Afterwards each one of our group got our key and hotel information presented and a hotel bracelet to wear for the whole week from the hotel employee. I think the process is efficient for the hotel but in my opinion it lacked a personal approach and it took longer because the whole group was helped by only one person. After a 10 hours flight you want to be helped quicker. We had a reservation for a room that was not (yet) renovated. The room was big, clean with a separate bathroom and toilet. It has a fridge, safe and we had a balcony who looked on the lake behind the reception and the pelicans. The thing we did not like from the room was the shower(head). Most of the time the water sprayed out of the shower and the floor became wet. We could not open the door of the balcony easy, because it could not be moved easily. We liked the hotel grounds, many palm trees and flowers. There are parakeets that fly around and nibble from the trees near the swimming pool. The swimming pool has cabanas around it. There is also a nice beach, unfortunately not a lot of umbrella’s available for the lounges chairs. You get one towel per person with a 25 US dollars deposit. If you would like a second towel you need to get a second towel cart at the reception first. Not very service friendly for a 4 star resort (the reception and towel pickup point are at opposite end of the grounds). On days a cruise ship comes in, some of the beach chairs will be used by cruise ship guests. I did really like the fact that you get in to the water and you can instantly see all the coral and the beautiful fish swimming around. The water is clear and had a beautiful turquoise colour. And at the beach there is a little pile of stones where the two house iguana’s live. Big fun with that, especially when they walk around and sit on the beach stairs. Food. Breakfast was ok. You can ask a cook to make any kind of egg you want. Dinner was disappointing for a 4 star resort. Usually you could choose from chicken, fish, beef and pork. But the meat was often dry and hard and there was not much variation in taste. For example, there was a Mexican night The fish and all the meat were cut in small pieces and had red and yellow pepper and a different kind of sauce. One of the reasons I stayed in this hotel was because of the all inclusive concept. I do understand you cannot expect the same quality of food as in a restaurant, but compared to other 4 stars resorts I have been this food was below expectations. There was always, salad, fruits, rice/potatoes and desserts available. There was also one hotel bar open for the beach and swimming pool where you could get your drinks. There was no menu card, so you need to ask the employee at the bar what they serve. You get delicious smoothies, and for lunch they serve hotdogs and hamburgers (not every day) and tosti’s. You could also go the restaurant, and you got a similar meal as dinner but a bit lesser choice. There are a lot of diving facilities on the grounds. We took a snorkling tour at Woodwind, very good. Wifi was good in the rooms and beach, but not available on the swimmingpool. The hotel is a 15 minutes walk from Kralendijk. you take the back entrance at the towel shop, walk straight to Flamingo Divi hotel and casino parking place and then take the walk alongside the sea. We were in town when the cruise ships came in. On the days the cruise ships arrive, there is a little market where locals sell their products. They will not hassle you, I found that very relaxing. We got a cold drink and huge capuccino’s at Karels bar. It has a beautiful sea view. I had a good lunch at “It rains fishes”. To summarize: room and beach were good, but food could be better for a 4 stars hotel.

We took a shore excursion for the day at Bonaire's Plaza Beach Resort. It was beautiful, great snorkeling, wonderful lunch, clean and with bar, pool, restrooms and free wi-fi on the beach. There was an island tour first, and our guide Barbara was so interesting. It was a great tour!

Resort was kept very well. Diving was fantastic - VERY HEALTHY CORAL! Food was ok. Rooms were kept very clean. Beach was ok - not great. Had to get in the water off a floating dock. No beach entry. The sand on the beach was practically non-existent. Hurt feet to walk on. Not enough sand over the lava, etc.

We just got back from Plaza Beach Resort. We stayed for 9 days there. The resort is located just 5 minutes from Flamingo airport and provided a shuttle to and from. The resort has its own private beach with snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, sailing, a beach bar, volley ball, and more. It even is a dive spot (18 Palms) that you can dive straight from the shore (no boat needed). Internet worked perfectly on the beach so you can instantly upload any pictures taken. We saw tons of fish right off the beach like tarpan, tuna, eels, angel fish, etc. The staff were super friendly, especially Quincy, (our group server). He would do anything that you asked of him and I always felt like royalty with him. He made you feel special. The food was plentiful and a wide variety was offered every day. We even rented Scooters straight from the resort which made it easy to go site seeing. The Tucan Dive Shop was AMAZING. So friendly and fun. They made the dive experience totally awesome and each person wanted to make sure you were always happy. Seriously, I loved this place. Even the rooms were big and had TV, internet, daily cleaning, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and basically everything you need a hotel room to have. I definitely suggest this place!

Great value for your money. Resort is very clean. Staff is friendly and help full. Dive staff is very helpful and accondomating. Food was excellent. Plenty of beach to relax on. Pool was keep clean. You will not be disappointed with this resort.

Very happy with the hotel and dive masters. The staff is very helpful in all areas of the resort. Easy location in relation to the airport and town. One of the nicest islands for diving. Beautiful reefs and marine life.

My apologies for such a late review. Stayed Feb. 11-18 First of all, I'm an easy person to please, I always take bad reviews with a grain of salt, however I felt I needed to share this, and there's a first time for everything, like this not so good review due to some poor policy's and parts of the resort are run down. Plaza Beach Resort needs some serious maintenance and freshening up. Airport transfer and check-in went smooth. I'm not a beer drinker so I paid $75 extra for premium drink package which I never had to do at other resorts, the drink menu was small but the top shelf liquor was good, patron, Gray goose, etc. Food; was just ok, and lacking verity. Breakfast is breakfast, only so much you can do with it. Lunch, pretty much the same dishes every day except a different sauce, very little variation. Dinner had it's theme nights, they tried, exp. American night, the ribs were made with curry, yes, curry, you know the spice never used in American dishes, they had hot dogs but no hamburgers(very American) . Mexican night, you couldn't even make a taco due to lack of ingredients, and the way some of the food was cooked? not very Mexican, also the grayish fish they served most nights, questionable. The only theme night that was good, was BBQ night, that night they got it right, it was the best meal of the week. Seafood night, some of the fish that was served was dry and tough. Service at the restaurant was poor, we had to wait for tables to be cleared, on two separate occasions I asked for water and didn't receive it until my meal was almost done, I asked for ketchup, ended up getting it myself. We wanted to use the Hobbie cat sail boat other resorts you put your name on a time slot list and go when it's your turn, so, on Tuesday, we were told that we had to wait until Wed. for an instructor to go out with us to make sure we know how to sail it, and on Thursday we could use it when they had a rescue boat available, that's their policy and a very poor one at that. Later that day we wanted to exchange our towels for some fresh ones and were told we had to wait until the next day, despite about a dozen were on the shelf, ( another policy I guess) The room was nice, large and a modern euro look, just be careful of exposed electrical wires in the night stands, you hit it the wrong way and you will get shocked. Our TV did not work the first night, but was fixed promptly the next day as promised. Over all, the resort was lacking basic maintenance looked run down, and was understaffed, a few night our room wasn't serviced until 6-7 PM which interfered with getting ready for dinner. The dive site at the resort is convenient but just ok, your better off going to other dive sites on the island. Snorkeling was just ok also, the best spot was the reef off the pier by the restaurant, check it out at night, some cool things to see. Our vacation wasn't ruined, it was still a good vacation, but were used to great vacations. Needless to say, we will never return to this resort, we only do All-inclusive resorts, Plaza Resort is the only all-inclusive on the island, so I guess we'll will not be returning to Bonaire.

The rooms are clean and big. The resort itself is very clean and the employees are friendly. The food is ok, but the service is outstanding. Quincy is the best! Couldn't ask for better more friendly service. I would definitely recommend this resort.

We found most staff working hard to please the customer. Missing topsheet on bed, I will bring it. Missing safety chain on entry door, I will fix it. Food needs work. Mostly fried or heavy sauces. Chicken legs daily. Potatoes daily. Need healthy options, perhaps grilled or broiled with sauces on the side. Maybe some heathy vegetarian options. The dive operation was the exception to helping the customer. Changes to dive boat departure not communicated. Info in guestbook in rooms not correct. No afternoon boat dives available. Did not seem concerned about helping the customer. If you did not want to go earlier or wreck dive you had no other options for boat diving.
