I love the location and closeness to the ocean and fish. You can jump into the water just feet from the deluxe rooms. This was our fourth time staying there. The three previous times were wonderful. This time not great. First, checking in they tried to “upgrade” us to a studio. The studio was not on the water but a distance from the water. We stay in deluxe to watch the ocean fish from our balcony, literally five feet away. If I wanted the studio with a kitchen, I would have paid for it. Actually online the studios were cheaper, so it wasn’t an upgrade. I argued with them until they put me where I belonged. This shouldn’t have happened. Checking out was a problem too. They charged two bills to us that weren’t ours for food and drinks. Finally the lady corrected it. It was someone else's signature. They apparently didn’t check the cards which they pass out. Finally, that was corrected but not an apology. Another problem is parking. A very small parking lot is provided for rental cars. They allow dive trucks and others to park in the guest parking lot. Some times you have to park on the street. The dive trucks should park on the street. I love this place for the ocean and location. Very disappointed in the office help this year. Not sure if we will be back. Hopefully they improve their customer service.

A great place for a scuba diving vacation. Great dive operation and very convenient for shore dives and night dives from the dock on the house reef. This is my new favorite dive resort.

The studios and rooms are old and obsolete. The staff is great. The food is low average. The beds are soft and uncomfortable. The grounds, views and snorkeling and diving from the shore are great.

Staff was friendly. Hotel location is excellent - close to downtown! We will definitely stay at this property again if we make it back to Bonaire.

I prepaid for an ocean view room with two beds. Upon arrival they did not have this available. They told me (a 70 year old grandmother) to sleep with my 24 year old grandson! Not happening! They did provide a room for one night on one side the resort then moved us the next day to the opposite side, still not giving me the upgrade I had paid for. The room was slightly below ground and occupied not only by us but by several 4 inch land crabs. The bathroom in the first room had a toilet that overflowed and where they moved us, had a very bad odor. I won't even go into details about the dive shop except to say after one day of diving, I switched resorts I was diving with. So sad to have this happen after planning this to be a special trip with my grandson.

In late January 2014, my wife and I took our 6-month old daughter to Bonaire. We'd previously been to Aruba and Curacao and wanted to complete the 'ABC islands' trifecta. This island had the best diving by far and is much more reserved and 'untouched' when compared to Aruba. Our hotel met expectations since we were looking for something family-friendly that met our budget, which also provided an on-site dive shop and close location to town. It was a relatively short and safe walk along the waterside road to the town where we found different restaurants to try each night. My wife and i took turns diving each day while the other enjoyed time with our daughter in the pool or ocean. There is no sandy beach, per se, but rather a concrete sea-stone pier, but it was still a blast. There is a small casino on premises if that peeks your interest. We didn't realize this was an option until we arrived and spoke to other guests, but there are hotel food plans available. May need to directly call the hotel to make package arrangements. Breakfast buffett costs $14.25 per person and a lunch meal averages about $11 without any plan. Might have been cheaper to seek a meal plan. Still, it was worth it and we would go back. The hotel won't blow your socks off with the luxuries of a 5-star hotel, but it surely provided my family with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We'd go back.

The hotel was probably really good about 30 years ago. It seemed very dated in many ways. The paint on our patio was all peeling off. There is no beach here but very nice views. The dive shop with Alvin and Serge was superior...very attentive, flexible, remembered our names, very personal. The casino was very smoky and the waitress staff in the casino very rude and insulting. If you want to gamble, go to the other casino just down the street. They could use more parking spaces. If you go to Bonaire for a week, having a rental car is a good idea. It is a very relaxed island but not a lot of extra to do if you want night life.

Perfect hotel for divers that want super easy diving. You can easily walk to town. Rooms are decent but nothing fancy for sure. Scuba diving was pretty amazing and the BEST part of the hotel was the crews at the dive shop and on the boats!

Rooms were right on the water with very easy access to swinmming via a dock. There is limited beach access, but snorkling is great right from the hotel. Food was very good and reasonable. Walk down town. Access to diving, snorkeling, and other water tours was at the hotel. We had a great time. Hotel staff were very nice. Pools were well maintained. Everyone had things to do.

Very nice resort. Staff was quite pleasant and helpful. The three restaurant/bars are located side by side on the waterfront. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Was very quiet the week I was there so there was no waiting lines at all. There is no sandy beach to speak of, but swimming and snorkeling is done off of a jetty. A long travel day and requires some effort to get there from Boston, MA but it was worth it and I would recommend staying at the Divi.

Great for snorkeling and diving or totally relaxing. No sandy beach at Divi Hotel. Breakfast package was well worth it. Caring staff. Short walk to town. Great restaurants but pricey. Could rent a car and book side trips right at the hotel.

I've been coming to this hotel for years and I still like staying here. The rooms have been updated in the past couple of years. There are several pools for kids and adults. The food at the Chibi Chibi restaurant in the hotel is good. The breakfeast buffet at Calabas is nice as well. It's a short distance to town so if you don't want to dine here every night you can go into town on foot or you can find good dining around the corner and some other places two blocks from the hotel. There is a good dive shop on site for scuba divers and they have their own small beach. It's very close to the airport but not too close.

The room was comfortable. The restaurants/beach bars were nice, as well. The BEST thing about this hotel is the dive shop and pier that goes straight out to the reef. You can dive any time of the day and go right off the pier. They leave tanks out for you and give you a locker. I did not appreciate arriving at 5:30am (after an overnight flight) and being told in the outdoor lobby we had to wait until 2pm to check in. That is something that needs to be dealt with. While I was taking a nap on the couch, another person came up and told me she had the same experience the day before. The worst part of this hotel was the woman working at the Hertz car rental. She was incredibly rude. We had questions and every answer she gave began with a big sigh and an eye roll. NOT professional AT ALL. The car rental service was the biggest inconvenience I've come across in a long time. Aside from those logistical things, the hotel was great and we enjoyed our trip.

I have been traveling the world for 35 years and stayed in some bad hotels, but I never stayed in a hotel this bad. The service was nonexistent, the best rooms were barely those of a 2 star hotel and the staff was bordering the unpleasant. It sad because, for an Island that lives off tourism, they aren't doing anything to develop it.

Great diving,Hotel&food.Great front desk night staff [...] very helpfull.Only downsides if your calling the states take unlocked cell phone and get digicel calling card in town hotel long distance can be pricey. Also Bring deep woods off mosquitos depending on time of year can be a problem as all over Carribean you can get Dengue fever if you are unlucky in the mosquito lottery.Overall Bonnaire Divi a wonderfull place.Recommend it.[...]

Room not ready for two hours after check in. Alarm clock did not work. No new towels after housekeeping one day nor coffee/cups. No electrical plugs near coffee pot nor to plug in alarm clock. Had to pay for safe lock, $6.00/day despite high crime area. Hotel staff was slow to attend to needs. They tended to speak about guests in Papamiento behind guests' backs. Shuffleboard court was cracked. Pool bottoms were cracked and broken. Dive shop equipment was dangerously in poor repair causing dive emergency when bouyancy control device inflator fell apart on 10 year old SCUBA diver in open water. SCUBA tank "O" rings were faulty on multiple tanks and blew out on several dives.

When we arrived they had no record of our reservation, or anyone's who had been made on a Friday and arrived before the following Monday. They did their best to accommodate us, although they were not able to find our records even with our [...] confirmation. Package was slightly different than expected, included a welcome drink and matching coupons for the casino, but we were charged for our electricity use, and we were unaware of this in advance. Location is close enough to enjoy the main city and local restaurants, if you don't mind a good walk in the heat. Staff did their best to accommodate us when we arrived early, but when they offer to let you leave your bags, they mean an unsecured closet that they encourage guests to go in and out of unattended to drop off and retrieve bags. Breathtaking view for such a low price though, with multiple pools and areas to swim and snorkel in the ocean. Great swimming area! Although pools are very basic, over all experience was good, but average. Main bedroom and terrace of our room were updated and plenty new, but we found the bathrooms to be very outdated and not as clean as the rest of the room.

This was our second time staying at the Divi in Bonaire. We choose to stay there because we have access to all the diving services we need without the inundation of other scuba divers. The oceanfront rooms are great to enjoy the sounds and sights of the ocean, not to mention the wonderful sunsets.

The view of the water and relaxing on the jetty in front of the hotel was really nice. We watched the sunset there each evening before getting ready for a nice dinner. The iguana and crabs were fun to watch, too. Lots of activities at the dive shop onsite which was excellent - great operation, meticulously organized and safe for divers.
