We booked this resort for our honeymoon and it was a disaster. They didn't decorate our rooms and when asked, the manager said they weren't aware we were on our honeymoon even though the front desk lady greeted us by saying 'oh, you are the honeymoon couple!' Better lie next time. On top of that, they had closed majority of their resort after Sept 15th due to low season - limited massages, spa hours, non-heated pool, one measly restaurant, no other activities. We weren't ever informed of this even though we had booked in early September about a month before our arrival. Even upon arrival, we were not informed that we would have nothing to do at the resort except sit in our rooms. We wouldn't have cared as much if they had set expectations beforehand; they should have informed people of closed areas and restaurants during booking so one can decide if it's still worth it. Some nearby resorts either don't charge full price or close their properties altogether so the visitors aren't forced to pay and not be able to enjoy their vacation. The restaurant food is terrible with the exception of Crispy Eggplants and their breakfast selections. When we ordered $15 Margherita pizza, we were presented with what looked like a frozen cheese pizza with no tomatoes, basil or mozzarella on top when their menu specifically lists those ingredients. When asked, the server literally brought us fresh basil to put on the pizza ourselves! We were furious to say the least that a resort of this caliber had no idea how to cook a normal, simple pizza. We didn't want to ruin our honeymoon so we asked the front desk to cancel the remaining nights because they never disclosed that we were going to pay a lot of money to enjoy less than 30% of what the resort had to offer. The lady didn't do anything and told us to talk to a manager in the morning. We booked another resort nearby (Nikki Beach - highly recommended), and when we were leaving the next day, the young manager had no idea how to apologize. He kept telling us not to leave because he would be charged by our third party for falsely advertising their property's services and availability when they had closed majority of it. I am sure this resort is worth the money some times of the season, but even the two taxi drivers we hailed to and from the resort told us to avoid Caresse and stay at Nikki, Mandarin, or Paramount next time and we'll be doing exactly that. Good things - Breakfast, sauna/spa area is beautiful if you can enjoy it, infinity pool has a decent view, staff members were really nice to us Bad - the management, communication, non-heated pools, hazy/foggy view of the sea (photos are a little misleading)
While I didn't stay at the hotel, I visited Buddha Bar Beach for my last day in Bodrum and enjoyed their beach atmosphere immensely. It is the perfect balance between laid back and energized, and the cocktails are delicious (try the lavender lemonade!). Upon arriving at the airport the following day I realized I had left my Kindle at the beach - Tugba from the front desk quickly found it and was able to put it in a cab to meet me at the airport, just in time for my flight. She went above and beyond, providing the level of service synonymous with the Luxury Collection properties.
Visited Caresse end of October. Fantastic weather and still warm sea. The beach area is lovely and the decked part is rather beautiful. Comfortable sun beds and fantastic views. We didn’t want to leave our seats ! The lunch and dinner menu was a great disappointment. The day after we arrived they closed the main restaurant and food was served in a bar (fantastic views) or at the Buddha Bar near the beach. Very limited choice and by day 3 we tried everything and didn’t like anything much. Pasta, pizza, breaded chicken and few other dishes... chicken Caesar salad arrived without chicken and it was rather disgusting. Pasta came without cheese. Everything takes forever. Really slow service although the hotel was half empty because of a low season. Many of the waiters don’t smile and not trying at all to be helpful. Very long time to get your order even if you are alone at the bar. Everything in the hotel is very nice and the staff at reception are lovely. Until u reach their food department. We started leaving the hotel to go out not only for dinners but for lunches too (short trips by taxi and you can have fantastic meals). Which is a shame as u really don’t want to leave as it’s so nice and beautiful in the hotel. I forgot to mention that breakfast was not great. Limited choice and not beautiful presentation of the food. Particularly off putting were cold cuts. Their cereals were pitiful and the bread table was not tempting at all. I do hope that it was because of the low season - you would expect so much better from the Marriott hotel in Bodrum. If you forget slow and somehow reluctant service (bars area) the hotel is very lovely.
The Caresse is one of those hotels that is not only beautiful, there is calm elegance and relaxed environment offering beautiful views and attention to detail, just on the edge of Bodrum’s lively chaos. Their restaurant was a welcomed respite after a long flight. The terrace overlooking the Aegean Sea was a welcomed point of repose. The staff was attentive, but not overbearing. They strike the balance between formality so that you feel “special” with a relaxed approachability and welcoming air. They readily answered any questions about the area. The waiter who served me my first meal in Bodrum, Emrah, made me feel at ease and spoke English well, as did all of the other staff I came across working there. It was not expected, but was certainly helpful. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone including both western, Mediterranean and eastern options. The rooms are lovely as is the landscaping and the infinity pool area. Shops are also available for those who are interested. They came in handy when I was invited to a wedding last minute and needed a dress. This is a great hotel. They really have created a special environment there.
This hotel is one of the best if not the best in Bodrum. Central to everything . My only comment is their menu was overpriced and unimaginative however there are literally thousands of other restaurants in Gümbet and Bodrum that are cheap by any standards The hotel has 77 suites all with views and balconies You cant go wrong at this hotel but do remember it closes at the end of November until early May each year
We stayed at this property and loved absolutely everything about it. It's truly luxurious and the property is absolutely stunning. Just being there is amazing, and when you add the excellent service, food and rooms, it makes it all perfect
I visited this lovely resort for business purposes with my team of 17 people in total. I was the business organizer and the meeting run extremely smoothly thanks to the efficiency of everyone. Starting from the GM Kamal Sırtıkırmızı, who greeted me personally at check-in. The Director of Operations Alex Mousios was extremely helpful in every single request and last minute arrangement during the 2 days meeting. Nilay Ünsalar, Sales Executive, did a great job communicating with me in advance. Doğukan Korkmaz, Front Office & Guest Experience Assistant Manager, was a star dealing with invoice queries and organizing transportation, and I could go on and on... the restaurant staff were so friendly and knowledgeable! Thank you everyone for the great service you provide and hopefully I will visit you again soon. Victoria Rincon, London
We spent 5 nights at this hotel. It was a great experience, the rooms, food, beach service and other facilities are all 5 star! The staff were professional and friendly, and the majority could speak English.
Beautiful and private setting in a busy tourist town. Excellent service and nicely appointed rooms. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Only problem is that you’re restricted to the food available at the resort(which is usually how it is).
Fantastic location on the sea. Great clean rooms. Excellent service. Fantastic beach set up with wooden platforms over the water and a touch of sandy beach. Sea side bars with varieties of refreshments. Great over all. It is not a budget place.
