I've been coming to Luna for dinner and drinks for the past couple years, everytime I'm in Jamaica, it's one of my favorite hang out, nice combination of local and tourists, nice drink selection, however there is an inconsistency in the cocktails depending and who makes it, I almost never get the same drink prepared the same way, as for the food sometime its outstanding and other times average, the portions are almost never the same,,I often order the curry shrimp and jasmin rice and its never the same, service can be quite slow, don't be in a rush..also I noticed that the grounds of property is not looking as fresh as it used too...a fresh paint would go a long way and other little details,,,all and all I still enjoy myself at Luna, but needs a bit more consistency and maintenance.
Went here one evening while heading to Negril. The sunset was breathtaking! My friends and I relaxed and enjoyed a few ice cold beers and experienced the true meaning of island time. The sunset was golden. It was peaceful. For that moment, all was well with the world. We had some lobster and it was divine. The staff however needs to learn English. All in all it was a lovely experience and I would definitely be going back! Thoroughly enjoyed my evening.
Linda is truly incredible. When you visit her at her beautiful hotel in Bluefields, you are immediately greeted by an incredible Ocean View. She has a beautiful bar with a wide selection, definitely try mimosas made with pineapple juice they are delicious, and the food that comes out of her kitchen is so amazing. I've never had more of a wonderful experience yes! I ate there at every meal of every day and I tried everything on the menu and I absolutely loved all of it. She makes it incredibly easy for you to find activities, and we'll see if you tell her that you would like to do some sightseeing. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is truly the most incredible little hotel and you cannot beat the price. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and every morning I enjoyed a French press full of local coffee in front of the ocean. If you were looking for somewhere to stay in Jamaica I cannot recommend this place enough
I just spent 3 of the most laid back stress free days on the south coast. I was told of this place by friends who live there. They just updated their rooms and the place sits on a point that is in a fish preserve. They have a thatched roof gazebo right on the waster that holds at least a dozen people. The room was right on the water with its own porch. Beautiful views up and down the coast. The food was wonderful fresh seafood, chicken, lobster etc. Bar was great with ample booze flowing and a great staff that bent over backwards to make your stay the best. It’s a quiet place that you really don’t have to leave it’s all right there. We did however go to the Pelican Bar that can be only accessed by boat but the rest of the time we spent at or near the Inn. With all the great small boutique inns and motels that dot Jamaica this one stands out. Just a rustic old school property that a long time visitor to Jamaica really enjoys (since 1979) The south coast reminds me of Negril in the late 70’s and early 80’s before the hordes found it.
This place ia a hidden gem on the south coast of Jamaica. The views as well as the sound of the sea makes this location spectacular. Rooms are extremely large, very safe and modern. Beautifully decorated rooms. An overnight stay comes with free breakfast which was delicious.
Even if you aren’t a registered guest at Luna Sea Inn, stop by for a delicious meal at the restaurant there. Ask to be seated at Kayon’s table. She’s top notch. We enjoyed a margarita and a house blended martini, The Lunatini. I’ve eaten escovitch fish at road side cook shops, restaurants and high end resorts all over Jamaica. Hands down, this is the place where you get the best! My companion, a surf & turf specialist, said it was spot on. The creme of pumpkin soup was thick and well seasoned. The menu covers are repurposed thatch mats, an example of how Dr. Linda, the gracious owner, focuses on use and reuse of local resources. The farm-to-table concept is a plus for the visiting diners, as well as the local farmers and fisherfolk. A special thank you to Brian, the associate who helped us find a set of missing car keys.
I made arrangement with Dr. Linda to serve between 30 and 35 family members following my brother's funeral in May. On the day of the event, 60 people showed up throwing everything into chaos. Throughout the entire thing they were so understanding and professional. Even Dr. Linda rolled up her sleeves and was out there with the rest of her crew serving food. I really do appreciate everything they did for my family, and when I'm in Jamaica again I'll be stopping by.
The location, the staff, the room, THE FOOD from the restaurant!!! Kayon with her big beautiful smile is very personable. Shelly thanks for going the extra mile and helping me find some jerk. Dave thanks for making my last minute request a reality. Blacks thanks for going the extra mile and finding someone to go kayak with us so VERY early in the morning. Captain Kevin and Orlando took us out to the reef to snorkel, that was awesome! We would have loved to go out on Luna Sea Inn's Sailboat. Linda (owner) and her son chatted with us before dinner. They seemed like lovely people who genuinely care about Luna Sea Inn. You can tell in the little details all around the property. We will be back! We love the south coast. Did not like: some guests extra curricular activities at night (burning). And. The rock-floor shower.
Upon entering the resort, I was wowed by the view. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, one could not be closer to the ocean unless one was wet! The room we stayed in had tea and coffee service in the room along with a small refrigerator. The AC was quiet and effective. The flat screen TV had cable channels including premium and Netflix. The private veranda was beautiful. The bed was a fabulous hand made four poster bed with a great mattress and high end bedding. In fact, the pillows were the best in Jamaica, down for me and memory foam for my partner. The restaurant was also great. Breakfast was large and complete and included in the price.
This is one the jewels of the west coast of Jamaica, small cozy, easy going and the staff is very nice and smiling, the owner is the heart of the hotel and takes care of everything personally, the sea always is soft and calm in this corner of Jamaica.
