Even if you aren’t a registered guest at Luna Sea Inn, stop by for a delicious meal at the restaurant there. Ask to be seated at Kayon’s table. She’s top notch. We enjoyed a margarita and a house blended martini, The Lunatini. I’ve eaten escovitch fish at road side cook shops, restaurants and high end resorts all over Jamaica. Hands down, this is the place where you get the best! My companion, a surf & turf specialist, said it was spot on. The creme of pumpkin soup was thick and well seasoned. The menu covers are repurposed thatch mats, an example of how Dr. Linda, the gracious owner, focuses on use and reuse of local resources. The farm-to-table concept is a plus for the visiting diners, as well as the local farmers and fisherfolk. A special thank you to Brian, the associate who helped us find a set of missing car keys.
I made arrangement with Dr. Linda to serve between 30 and 35 family members following my brother's funeral in May. On the day of the event, 60 people showed up throwing everything into chaos. Throughout the entire thing they were so understanding and professional. Even Dr. Linda rolled up her sleeves and was out there with the rest of her crew serving food. I really do appreciate everything they did for my family, and when I'm in Jamaica again I'll be stopping by.
The location, the staff, the room, THE FOOD from the restaurant!!! Kayon with her big beautiful smile is very personable. Shelly thanks for going the extra mile and helping me find some jerk. Dave thanks for making my last minute request a reality. Blacks thanks for going the extra mile and finding someone to go kayak with us so VERY early in the morning. Captain Kevin and Orlando took us out to the reef to snorkel, that was awesome! We would have loved to go out on Luna Sea Inn's Sailboat. Linda (owner) and her son chatted with us before dinner. They seemed like lovely people who genuinely care about Luna Sea Inn. You can tell in the little details all around the property. We will be back! We love the south coast. Did not like: some guests extra curricular activities at night (burning). And. The rock-floor shower.
Upon entering the resort, I was wowed by the view. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, one could not be closer to the ocean unless one was wet! The room we stayed in had tea and coffee service in the room along with a small refrigerator. The AC was quiet and effective. The flat screen TV had cable channels including premium and Netflix. The private veranda was beautiful. The bed was a fabulous hand made four poster bed with a great mattress and high end bedding. In fact, the pillows were the best in Jamaica, down for me and memory foam for my partner. The restaurant was also great. Breakfast was large and complete and included in the price.
This is one the jewels of the west coast of Jamaica, small cozy, easy going and the staff is very nice and smiling, the owner is the heart of the hotel and takes care of everything personally, the sea always is soft and calm in this corner of Jamaica.
Recently stayed 4 nights with my wife. Safe location, beautiful views, and great staff. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, look no further. Bluefields is the place to be. It is a short drive to local attractions, and Richie will take you anywhere at very reasonable prices. He is a safe driver and awesome guy. We ate at the restaurant onsite daily, never had a bad meal. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great experience, chilled out environment, and beautiful surroundings. Thanks to Dave and MonaLisa for taking good care of us during our stay!
Just fantastic - absolutely stunning location, lovely rooms with AC, great staff, good food, beautiful sunsets, snorkelling, sailing, tubing. Great owner Dr Linda, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Linda; we'll be back. Lynne & Rudi, South Wales, UK.
If you want to truly relax on you vacation, stay here!! Forget the hustle and bustle of large resorts, where you cannot here the sound of the Sea because your room is too far and the kids are too loud and out of control. At Luna Sea Inn, the waves of the sea are gently knocking on your room door. This intimate, chill, boutique hotel has clean rooms and great staff. You can feel the good vibes as soon as you get there. This a great place to catch a local vibe and avoid the tourist traps of the big resorts, while staying safe. There is lots to do within an hour drive. So you may want to plan excursions in advance. We emailed the staff before got there and they helped us with all of that. Food is great (guava jerk wings, yummy!!!), sourced locally and made to order. The menu is a unique Jamaican Fusion with a few local and international options. Authentic Jamaican cuisine is widely available all over the island, so use your time at the Inn to have a gastronomic experience. We met a family that were staying at a big resort but came to Luna Sea to eat because they were tired of the cliché resort food. Rooms: clean, spacious and comfortable. It looks like each room has its own hot water tank, so you can take a hot shower at anytime. Our shower had a cool looking rock floor but it was hard on my feet so I showered in my flip-flops. The room had A/C but I loved the sound of the sea so I kept the door open and the A/C off during the day. The patio off our room was great for reading and watching the sea and the stars. The Grounds: small, well kept, clean grounds. There is patio furniture placed about the grounds for all to use. The beach is not ideal for swimming or sunbathing but good for Kayaking, scuba, etc. Some equipment provided by the resort. There is a small cave very close to explore while kayaking. For swimming, there is a local beach, Bluefield’s close by, the staff will gladly arrange for you to get to and from. In addition, because the beach is local, during the weekdays it not busy. The band that played during our visit was good and kept the locals, visitors, staff and guests grooving. Don’t miss the Amazing sunset, my phone camera could not capture the colours of sky or the feeling of awesome. The gazebo is a great spot to catch the sea breeze while having a drink. Pics and menu are accurate online. What you do not see in the pictures is that the property is close to the road, which can be loud. However, the daily traffic noise is hard to hear over the sounds of the sea crashing against the rocks and the reggae playing in the restaurant. We were able to get a few lovely gifts at the Locally Crafted gift store in the lobby of the Inn. The items are truly made by locals in the area, much nicer than the things we saw at the airport. Thank you to Dr. Linda and her staff for a making us feel like family, we had Magnificent time!!! I can't wait until we go back!!!!
Having never been to Jamaica I wasn't sure what to expect but this is the place to be! Quiet but fun, the staff is fabulous and the food is to die for. You have a restaurant and bar on site so no need to stray too far if you fancy a night in. Dr. Linda is the best company! The rooms are great and you just can't beat being on the ocean! Would highly recommend!
We had a room overlooking the sea which was wonderful .great view of the stars at night the food was ok . The manager of the hotel was very helpful . The access to the sea was a little tricky . All in asl a pleasant place to stay . It is close to the road so the traffic noise can be a little disturbing
