Overall, room was a very generous size, and we really appreciated that there was no carpeting. Liked the ceiling light, which is a great feature as most hotel/motel rooms do not have ceiling lights. Room was very clean, but some areas are showing its age. The table tops are worn & flooring missing a section (potential tripping hazard). We were only staying one day, but should we have stayed longer extra hangers would have been appreciated. There was only one supplied hanger. We were disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open on the day we arrived (Sunday) nor was it open the following morning. We had a function at 11:00 am which was the time the restaurant opened on the Monday. We had picked this motel because of the attached restaurant, but never got to use the restaurant. Definitely appreciated that room came with small fridge, microwave & coffee machine. Good to know for future stay. Also appreciated the luggage rack, that is always a nice touch. Also, a folding chair was provided which was definitely handy in bathroom to put extra supplies on when getting ready. All in all, we would stay here again.

The heat in the room was turned off so the room temp was the same as the outside temperature- which was below zero. We would have had to wear our coats for an hour or two until the room warmed up. Consequently we left. I asked the owners to give me a receipt to confirm that we did not use the room and had checked out. They refused to do this. We own recreational rentals in both Canada and Belize. We always turn on the heat or air conditioning before guests arrive.

It was a nice room. Bathroom was a bit cramped, but ok for 1 person. Bed was comfortable. I was in the last room on the end, so it was quiet.

Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative was for being off season, all occupied rooms were at one end, close to the highway so heard traffic, smokers (incl pot) talking outside close to our door, and walls are not very sound proof, incl clomping across the floor. Was Ok for 2 nights but also abit pricey.

Booked this based on the 8.2/10 rating. Big mistake. To be fair, I don’t care about a place being dated as I was just passing through, but it was filthy. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, mystery stain on the bathroom wall, dirty walls in the rest of the room, etc. The bed was so uncomfortable that sleep was limited, and I don’t want to even think about what is on the fabric headboard. That being said, check in was easy and the person who checked us in was friendly. The bottle of water in the room was appreciated. Overall, if you are stuck for a place to stay in Blind River, I recommend sleeping in your car over staying here.

The floor was very dirty. I don’t think it was swept or washed for a long time. Our feet were black from walking in it. We had to wear our shoes the whole time. The bathroom was very small and had no counter space.
