I had a lovely stay here! Would recommend to anyone, great location. The room was very nicely presented which was better than other hotels. The view was okay but the cute birthday chocolates made up for it. Thanks for having us.
Me and my boyfriend had a great stay here for his birthday. The room was very nice and we were given complimentary sweets and a bottle of prosecco as we were celebrating! Very comfortable bed and good shower. Big floor to ceiling windows in the room with a nice view. The pool area is fantastic with a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and sunbeds. Although we didnt buy anything the bar area was really nice serving cocktails and pizzas. The only downside was that there were a lot of works going on just outside meaning it was hard to get to on foot unless you knew the back route.
Stayed here for two nights for the athletics. Location was ideal as was a short walk to the indoor arena which is right next to Brindley Place with lots of restaurants, coffee shops etc. Hotel was busy due to the athletics but checked in within minutes and check out equally as quick. Room was big, large bed, large bathroom. No parking but they recommend a few car parks and we used the Q-Park and had no problems and it’s a 5 minute walk away. Didn’t use the spa or gym but was there for the athletics so no time to use other facilities.
Upon going to the bar to ask for a drink, I was greeted with a very rude Manager at the. It behooves me how such people are put in these positions to face customers on a day to day basis. This is hospitality, not a military base. I was shocked at the attitude and being as its a hotel thats quite pricy, you would expect some better care.
Best hotel in Birmingham, from food to rooms they are high standard. Car parking is a problem but it doesn't the positivity of the hotel. Lovely rooms with the complimentary gifts with the room, being high class value for money
Cannot fault the place. Pool area and staff were all superb. Loved the rooms and general decor. They were very comfortable. Breakfast was varied and of a very high standard. Well situated for the mailbox area.
As a business user, this hotel is pretty much ideal. It's close to New Street, a bit further than The Mal, but not as far as the Hilton Brindley place. I don't mind a walk to be honest, and this was just pleasant. Room was large, comfortable and immaculate. Loads of USB ports. Strong, hot shower. As good a view as you'll get in Birmingham (and better than the Radisson Blu), overlooking Gas Street canal basin. There is a direct link to the ICC from the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Good sized gym (Cardio, machine, free weights) and a pool and I think a sauna. Nice pub next door and across the canal too. There is a 'but' obviously! This part of Birmingham is a building site. It has been for 15 years and it will be for another couple at least. When its finished it will be great, but at the moment, the view from the front of the hotel looks onto another new office development. If you are here on business, you probably don't care, but some might. That said, this is easily as good as The Mal, and with a much better gym and pool (and the decor is brighter too!)
3 of us stayed here for a one night weekend 'chaps reunion'. The location is ideal, close to Broad St, Brindley Place and the Mailbox/canal side area. The hotel is probably the classiest in the area but the room rate @ £159.00 for the 3 of us was the most competitive. Unfortunately the hotel is currently slap bang centre of a major building site/City regeneration project, but that's a short-term aggravation that's well worthwhile, and is not the fault of the hotel. Might explain the competitive rate though!
We had a lovely stay here in February. It is easy to walk to from Central Birmingham as it is just on Broad Street. We were booked in promptly, we stayed on the 22nd floor, which had a great view of the canal and barges below. Hotel was so big, we didn't get to visit all parts of it but the parts we saw, we were impressed. The room was spotless, as was the restaurant and the dinner was perfect and so tasty. The buffet breakfast was also delicious, although very busy so don't leave it too late. Staff were all welcoming and very friendly at all times. A great stay.
Just came back from a couple of nights at The Hyatt Regency on Broad St and have to say that over the many years that I have been travelling to Birmingham mostly to see my family, this is the best hotel I've stayed in. The staff, facilities and service are second to none and it has a wonderful energy and ambiance and is very much like a boutique hotel in style and feeling even though it's quite a big hotel. We were very much looked after by everyone in the bar, the restaurant, the reception, the guys on concierge and everyone else and had a wonderful time. We didn't have time to do a tour but will definitely do one next time as we'd love to see the top suites, all of which can be available at big discounts to upgrade to if you're already staying there and they are available. We could've upgraded to the Presidential Suite for an extra £600 per night which, when you consider this room has hosted people like Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton and Madonna, puts it within reach of mere mortals like myself for those very special occasions. I didn't realise there was a pool otherwise I would've brought my budgie smugglers with me and intend to bring them up next time so I can grace the pool with my wonderfully sveldt figure. If you want to impress someone you're with or want to celebrate a special occasion you have to book this hotel - you won't regret it.
