Wonderful stay! I have stayed in this hotel for the last years on and off and I can't fault the service from the staff here. On my arrival I advised the girl it would probably be my last time staying as I was moving locally. She upgraded me to regency club which was amazing! A lounge with complimentary soft drinks and between 5.30/7.30 canapés (it is more like cheese and meat platters!). Wonderful hostess and couldn't have wanted for more. The spa in the Hyatt is wonderful- a pool, hot tub, steam and sauna. Probably the best hotel in Birmingham.
Stayed on a business trip and would highly recommend the hotel. The concierge were very friendly nice clean hotel with beautiful room over looking the city. Parking facilities nearby and overall was an excellent choice.
We stayed her in nye this year 2016 - 2017. The dining hall and entrance were stunning, the view from our room was beautiful - really amazing view of the Ferris wheel and ice rink and the fireworks went off right outside our window at midnight! It took our breath away! We also had a nice treat when we entered the room of chocolate covered strawberries and a "happy new year" message on a plate when we entered - a really nice touch. The only very small problem I would raise would be that the food at the gala dinner wasn't great, they served us soup, which was tepid and the "champagne balls" with our starter were hard and chewy (clearly had been left out for some time) and our waitress went to get bread which they forgot to bring out and never came back, we ordered drinks and they forgot so we had to re order them, and because there was such a delay between the course we asked for our after dinner coffee to be brought up to our room...it never was and we phoned to remind them which then resulted in them trying to charge us for extra drinks. After a lengthy conversation with the manager on that night this was resolved. However given that it was New Year's Eve we really could have done without these issues! Equally though, given that it is probably their busiest time of year we can see how this could have happened. The room was also very plain and definitely wasn't luxurious. Plain white sheets and plain white walls with dark wood furniture; quite uninspiring and could be easily fixed with more elaborate lighting and some colour on the sheets - this isn't a lot to ask for the price you pay! Aside from this we enjoyed our trip and would stay again.
We had out first official over night date and stayed at this lovely hotel. Very welcoming and helpful, beautiful stylish rooms with floor to ceiling windows, fully stocked mini bar & amazing bathroom. Lovely restaurant for evening meals and perfect buffet spread to work off the hangover. Couldn't fault a single thing I would highly recommend to friends and family and is perfect for business trips due to the location. Thanks too the stay @ Hyatt Regency Birmingham for a lovely stay
While not a 5 star hotel, it is top endish, but not so much as we would feel out of place. Very clean , polite staff, a little bit of noise on canal view side, but were too tired to be kept awake by it. Close to restaurants, pubs, canal, in one direction, and shopping and train station in other direction. A decent place for mother and daughter shopping and spa weekend.
Stayed for one night.. absolutely amazing .. could not have been happier.. very nice surroundings/furnishings.. lovely friendly staff.. such a good service.!! would definitely recommend.. couldn't stay anywhere else now!
Wow first impressions .....having door opened from taxi.....to hotel . Check in a bit unorganised . Took credit card ....still have £40 pending on account even tho haven't had any extras ? room lovely bit of rubbish left here and there i.e. Crisps, wrappers . Great to have fridge , iron etc in room . Bar area nice .......so expensive tho .
We arrived and had to park about a 10 monitor walk from the hotel as we're told we had to pay 20 pound for over night parking which we would of paid but the attitude of the parking staff was they didn't want us to park there as we have a normal car, only cars that could be seen were more exclusive cars so be prepared to walk from another car park. The hotel it self was clean and fresh rooms. When we happens to go the EDL we're also protesting which was a little annoying as it was in the square opposite not the hotels fault I know but made us feel a little on edge to have to walk right by them to get past with our cases. Overall o would recommend this hotel for more business reasons than leisure
The hotel was very busy (fully occupied) but I was not kept waiting and staff were efficient and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable which was really needed at the end of a long day. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly.
I arrived to check in and were told to wait outside as the India team coach was about to arrive. Waited outside for another 10 minutes before it arrived. Disgraceful considering the cost of the room. Checked in arrived at the bar at 21:45 only to be told by who I believe to be the bar manager that I cannot be served as I was drunk, I was completely sober, when I challenged him he said the bar was closed as there was a large number of people in the bar who were drunk. He eventually served me 1 pint of beer. Other members at the bar continued to serve people. When I asked for another drink some 45 minutes later was refused by another member of staff to be told sorry I unable to serve you but then served another person a large round of drinks. Utterly disgraceful behaviour. I will be calling the hotel this week to speak to the general manager. This happened on Sunday 4th June.
