The hotel is really nice and in a good location, unfortunately, there are building site all around it and looks like you are inside it. The staff is really nice, restaurant Ok, could be a little more fun, the pub next door is nice, but very quiet. Overall a good experience

Stayed here in April for another of my 50th Birthday Celebrations. Upon arrival we had been given interconnecting rooms as requested and some lovely birthday decorations were added to my room, along with a few sweet treats. When checking in a friend mentioned it was my birthday and a bottle of prosecco was sent to the room and poured for all of us. Nice touch Hyatt. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable although I didn’t find the pillows to be the best. The bathrooms are well stocked and a decent size. This is my third stay at this hotel and would have no hesitation returning.

We were attending concert at The Symphony Hall and chose this hotel as it was next door. There is a connecting bridge but when we tried to use it to return to the hotel after the concert it was locked,so we had to go outside and walk to the hotel. The hotel emailed me prior to arrival and asked for an arrival time.I advised that we would be arriving at 1pm and when we got off our flight at 12.15 I had an email telling me that our room was ready, which was excellent. Quick, smooth checkin, room was large and comfortable. Ordered room service for lunch which was quickly delivered and tasty. The leisure facilities were good, clean and we had the place to ourselves. There is a lot of building work going on around the hotel, which makes access to it a bit more difficult, but was OK. Nice floor to ceiling windows in room.We were on the 9th floor and it was very quiet. We didn’t have the breakfast as felt it was pricey (£17 each)so popped to Wetherspoons which is two minutes away and ate there for less than £10 between us. We would stay here again if in the area.

I was checked in to the 24th Floor - Club level - and enjoyed the terrific views which included the canals on which I had traveled the week before. At that height it was a pleasure to be able to use the Club Facilities which was like having a home from home pre dinner drinks and canapes and a fabulous quiet breakfast. Staff were terrific.

This is the fifth time in Birmingham, attending a conference in the conference centre, and the third time we have stayed at the Hyatt Regency hotel. In my last review two years ago I wrote we would definitely be back. Didn't last year as it was fully booked. Next time we will book earlier, for we are certainly staying here again. Great reception, good room on 14th floor with a great view. Everything worked as expected or better. Breakfast was excellent, and afternoon tea a treat. Check-out quick and easy.

The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, spacious and warm. There was a brilliant view of the city from the floor to ceiling windows. All the staff I met were, without exception, friendly and helpful, from the moment my taxi pulled up outside and the doorman greeted me and helped me out with my luggage, to the receptionists who checked me in and out and the room service staff who couldn't have been more helpful. The location couldn't be bettered if you are attending an event in the ICC or Symphony Hall as there is a connecting bridge to the venue meaning you don't even need to step outside! I didn't use the bar or restaurant, but I did use room service and the food was beautifully presented and tasty. It is within very short walking distance of some lovely bars and restaurants along the canalside. This is a truly outstanding hotel in all ways and I was very impressed. This will be my first choice the next time I wish to stay over in Birmingham.

Next door to Symphony Hall. The hotel and Symphony Hall are joined by a covered bridge. No need to go outside to get there. Hotel room was excellent, large and comfortable. Service very professional. Will stay there again.

I am always a bit nervous travelling to the North (or Midlands, in this case), after some bad experiences. Expectations are never high though - good job in the context of my recent trip to Birmingham. Arrived with an hour or so to spare before an evening event, but was stymied by an expensive 20 minute taxi ride to the Hyatt from the station - due to a combination of selfish parking and unimaginative bus driving - arriving late and very cross. Could have walked, but it is almost impossible to get to the Hyatt on foot without special equipment - in this case a hard hat and boots with steel toe-caps, to negotiate the building sites that make up most of central Birmingham and surround the hotel. All the more surprising to find wall-to-ceiling windows! To admire the cranes, diggers, factories and tower blocks? Presumably looked the business in the architect's pitch - totally inappropriate in reality. The hotel foyer is standard-issue 'American corporate' - only more cluttered for some reason. Breakfast is in what feels like a draughty barn - would have been passable if it had not taken 15 minutes for my tea to arrive. Room was functional if fairly small, but perhaps the worst thing though was being woken 3 times during the night by returning drunken revellers crashing about in nearby rooms and in the corridor. Walls are paper-thin (presumably all the money was spent on the pointless windows) and one can hear all the incoherent and noisy drivel on offer - not at all conducive to a good night's sleep, particularly irksome, if as in my case, one has an important professional commitment early the next day. This could be easily solved by having tighter 'rules' and ideally, one or two 'quiet floors', with a guest 'voluntary' night-time curfew on those floors. The noisy brigade could then enjoy keeping each other awake when they return at 3am from Sprockets, or Grommets or Plonkers, or whatever the local clubs are called! Won't be back - lucky my expectations were not high....

Booked using and got great discount, so stayed in regency room on top floor. Fabulous view, and really nice to use the regency club. Great cocktails and nice breakfast. Slight issuewas that our room was next to the lift, there was a squeak from the lift all night. Also not the best shower.

We all gather at the Hotel family and close friends. We really had a wonderful time enjoying ourselves. My granddaughter were staying over and her two brothers wanted to stay as it was two rooms. We all left them very happy and relaxed. Early part of the morning my daughter was awaken by my granddaughter very upset she said her brothers had gone home to get clothe and on their returned the security guards wanted to know who they were they explained but the security guards did not believe them even when they called the room to check eventually they were allowed to go to the room however no sooner had they entered there were a knock at the door. The security guards had came to the room questioning my granddaughter she was very upset. She then called her mother to cone and collect her. The next day they returned to complained to the manager who dealt with the situation and said Thatcher will speak with the 2 security guards. We gave not heard anything as yet. But I would like to thank my daughter and granddaughter my grandsons in how they handled themselves in such a very unpleasant surprise circumstance and the manager for treating them with the dignity and respect that they deserve. I hope to be booking my Anniversary in September and hope to have a good reception. I do like the Recency Hyatt Hotel Birmingham and would hate because of the 2 insensitive security guards that would cause for them to have a bad reputation. Anyone coming to Birmingham I would truly recommended the Recency Hyatt Hotel Birmingham and it is lovely warm confortable and friendly.
