Came here with a group tour. Clean, easy to find and abundant free parking. Staff very helpful, small lobby and restaurant. Service good. Food good enough. Has lift where I believe the Holiday Inn across the junction does NOT have a lift. Breakfast buffet also adequate with hot and cold items. Free i Paper in lobby. Prices for drinks not too expensive. You can walk to the KFC nearby if you have kids with needs. I found the room very good and the bed firm which is how I like it, not soft like in many hotels. Tea and coffee making facilities provided in room. No fridge. I highly recommend for a one or 2 night stay.
We came to the Midlands to visit family and watch a football match, and chose the holiday inn express hotel to stay in. There was plenty of parking and the reception area with the bar was really impressive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss and the sofa bed wasn't great quality. The bathroom was really nice and it was £70 for a family room which is great value. I would definitely come back.
Stayed here on 12th August for 1 night, arrived early evening first impressions very nice, reception staff helpful and friendly young lady Toni especially. Room was nice and clean had everything you would need. Had a few drinks at the bar before going out very reasonable prices. Overall had a lovely stay all the staff were polite and friendly the breakfast was nice in the morning, would stay again for sure.
The rooms were comfortable enough but the breakfast eugh. The bacon was fatty, sausages had lots of rusk, hardly any meat and were very bland. The baked beans and scrambled eggs were cold. There were not enough sugar sachets on the table and we had to take them from other tables which left then without. It would be better to have them in a basket so people could take as many as they need.
There are 2 HI's off this junction, we had the confusion of sat nav taking us to the other one first! We stayed here as wanted a cheap stay while visiting family, literally spent less than 8 hours in the hotel and that was spent sleeping! very good value for money, bed was comfy, plenty of space, bathroom had everything you need including complimentary toiletries to use, tea/coffee making facility and a note saying if you require extra supplies to just ask at reception, easy to book, check in and check out, nice breakfast with good choice of items and hot drinks, all staff were friendly, very close to motorway however you can not hear anything in the room. The ONLY MINOR issue we had was at breakfast, it took a long time (over 15 mins) for the food to be restocked, at one time there was no hot food, no yogurt, and all tables were dirty, it looked like they were short staffed this one day and something I imagine is not a normal occurrence. I would stay here again and already looking to book at the end of the year when we visit the family again would recommend this hotel.
Last time I stayed in Birmingham I stayed in the village across the road from the holiday inn but wasn't impressed so decided to stay here this visit. Thank goodness. Speedy and friendly check in. My requirements of a low floor were met with ease. Room plain but perfectly formed. The bed was very very comfy and so were the pillows do I slept very well. Will stay here again on my next visit
We stayed here one night whilst my partner was working in the area. Rooms are clean and tidy, and comfortable. Work space in the room and they have all you need. We were checked in by Toni on reception, she was polite and really friendly and a great example for the hotel... I stay in many hotels and have come across many rude staff this certainly isn't the case here! I'm going to be staying in the area more often and this will be my choice. To add the morning breakfast served Buffett style is brilliant! Food was great! Ms Darrell
I stayed here for a function and was surprised at the quality as I am a Premier Inn kind of guy. I am now a convert. The staff very friendly, always on point for information and keen to assist. Very close to the town centre bus ride away. The receptionist, the black man was extremely professional and I was surprised to see him late at night and back for breakfast, working extremely hard, and despite the load he carried a welcoming smile. When you have good staff, I hope the establishment recognises this as staff need to know when they have been mentioned or receive accolades. The room was nice, bed was a bit tough. But when your tired you just knock out. Nice bathroom, clean and house keeping is on point as they are integral to a smooth running hotel. The breakfast provided was not catered to Vegetarians, bit of toast or a croissant to suffice from the options provided, no soya milk was provided to enjoy a cereal, could have asked but I try not to be a bother. I am never one to complain but management should be aware not everyone tucks into Scramble eggs, sausages or enjoy diary products. It would be beneficial to have a sign noting veggie requirements to alert staff and have a few sausages or something prepared. Anyway, it did not subtract me from the wonderful time I had staying at Holiday Inn Walsall, first time to the area, I like. Thanks to the staff they made the 3 day visit memorable to Walsall.
Stay here on the way to thorp park and have to say that the location just off the motorway is ideal. The staff at both breakfast and reception are really helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.
Booked this hotel last minute and got a great price. On arrival the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. There was free WiFi which we never used. The room was large and clean. The beds were very comfortable. There was tea and coffee facilities in the room and when we requested more this was given to us. There was a tv in the room with many channels if you wanted to watch it. We had dinner in the hotel which was nice and was reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room. We were advised the hotel was full so breakfast maybe busy. When we went down the breakfast area was full but we got a table straight away. There was a good choice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Well done and thank you to Terence and his team.
