Spent a month and throughout that span, and without fail, the house was just what we wanted and our host was responsive and cordial.
The location (Port Pine Heights and Big Pine Key) was just what we were looking for: the neighborhood is certainly quiet, relaxed, deluxe, and modern, and the Key is equally relaxed but will access to diversions from diving and snorkeling to bike riding and fishing (less so golf).
The pool was a highlight but the home's amenities -- from electronic entertainment to bicycles and kayaks, from rainfall showers to tiki-hut based laying about on an abundance of chairs and loungers-- all made for a very high-end -- almost resort-like -- feel to the accommodations.
John (the owner) clearly cares for his property and its upkeep and was a very responsive and resourceful host; unflappable in his ability to address our needs and take control of an unforeseen (but low-grade) emergency by dispatching professional help and getting things back on track with hardly a hiccup.
The home handled our group(s) and our small pet perfectly. But the house is only about 'where,' you stay. 'How," you stay -- and how well -- is all about the host and the pride and care they put into the property. On that score, this place gets all five, well deserved, stars...honestly.
