I stayed here with my teenager daughter and 8 year old niece after a day shopping at Bicester Village. This was a stop off before travelling back north home after spending the previous week in Oxfordshire. The room was very clean, with a double and a single bed. The bathroom was tight but sufficient for a 1 night stay with ample towels supplied. The room had tea and coffee supplies. We stayed on a Friday night but still a little noisy in the morning. Breakfast was ample and plenty of variety. All in all I felt this was fairly priced, and sufficient for a 1 night stay. Especially if wanting to shop at Bicester village. I was happy with the stay.
Had an overnight stay at this hotel and the room as very small that I climbed over the bed to get to the window. The toilet and shower smelt really bad. I would rather say it was a posh hostel rather than a hotel. Would not recommend this place. Booked 2 nights but only stayed for 1.
I stayed for 5 days. Considering the price for that was very reasonable, if you are only looking for a bed for the night for other purposes I would recommend this place. The room itself was quite small but had ample room for moving around the fixtures. On the wall next to the door was a hanging rail with about 8 coat hangers. There was a shelf on top and a shoe rack below this. Plenty of storage for myself however I can see this may cause issues for some without a conventional wardrobe setup. Two bedside tables, one either side of the bed, each with a couple of small drawers. Each drawer is probably big enough to store underwear or T-Shirts. TV worked fine as did the kettle. The en suite was quite restrictive size wise. Only real issue I found with the bathroom was it took approximately 5 minutes to warm up the shower and it needed a new head. Most of the holes were blocked on the head and it only came out of a few. The location of the hotel doesn't allow for peaceful nights as it is right next to a railway line and an industrial estate both of which appear to be operational through the night. The walls are very thin aswell so you can hear everything when someone walks past in the corridor or in a room close to you. In terms of cleanliness the room and ensuite were spotless and this was done daily. Very efficient. Breakfast is continental providing a selection of meat, cheddar cheese, tomato, cucumber, boiled eggs, cereal, bread or toast, coffee, tea, apple or orange juice. Served from 7 until 9 I think, however on a couple of days it wasn't fully laid out until about ten past 7. Ample parking outside the hotel. All in all I would recommend this if you are there for a short transit onto somewhere else, however not really suitable for any sort of break or an extended period. I thought it was decent and it provided me with exactly what I needed. If you require basic digs with basic services this is exactly the place to stay.
For the price there arnt too many complaints. Very small room even smaller bathroom. My knees hit the wall when sat on the toilet. Shieer was hot but flow rate was non existent on disired heat. Shower head was broken and seals on shower was dirty. Towel rail was rusty and dirsty. Cold tap in sink wouldn't work properly. Decent tv with a working remote. (Rare) I had to make a lot of noise in reception to get the guy out of bed to book me in. Supposed to be a 24hr reception. Breakfast is free for a reason. I just stuck with the cereal... Warm milk 😷😷
We stayed here for a wedding nearby as it was fairly reasonably priced at £75 but I think even that was a bit steep. Our room was tiny, you couldn't even open the bathroom door all the way as the bed was in the way. There were no net curtains so people walking past the hotel. Could see straight into the room so we had to have the curtains closed all the time. The bathroom was a bit grotty, the towel rail was very rusty and nasty looking. I wouldn't want to hand my towels on there. The bed was comfortable enough and our room was an OK temperature. Breakfast was OK. Not a bad selection but only 2 of the toaster slots worked so there was a bit of a queue to get out toast in the morning. Personally, I wouldn't stay here again.
Stayed here for a nearby wedding. Room was ok but noisy as by a main road. Bathroom was tiny. For the money we paid I thought it was pricey! I’d probably not stay here again and try somewhere else as other options are available.
Stayed for two nights (Friday and Saturday) to view properties in Bicester. The hotel is ideally situated, very basic which we expected for the price but the staff genuinely did their best to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are relatively small and basic but very clean and light so really can't fault them at all for what you're paying. The breakfast too was great, it's just a small room and they provide cereal, fruits, juices, toasts and boiled eggs, all fresh.
Needed a hotel quickly for a weekend away and found this one last minute........was a bit unsure but hey it's only a room to sleep in...........arrived and was pleasantly surprised.....the room although a bit small was exceptionally clean and fresh....it offered shower gel etc and tea and coffee making facilities.....(there was even a fan which was a god send in this weather) the staff were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast was well presented and plentiful.......please don't be put off by its location......is it a hidden gem
Booked this for work due to Wi-Fi.. Wi-Fi is very poor . Room contains a single bed which is tiny ... shower tiny cant rurn round in it . Carpet in room is filthy god knows whats in it. Curtains do not block sunlight out so the whole room 18 is as if a light is on till it goes dark outside . Tea facilities bit no mug just a tea cup . Wont stay again
My partner and I stayed here very, very last minute for a wedding we were going to. It was at a price where we knew you “get what you pay for” but we didn’t care - just wanted a bed for the night. I’ve got to say, some of the negative the reviews I’ve read aren’t what we experienced! We didn’t use the telly (we don’t usually need to) but the room was fair for what we paid. The bed was super comfortable, there was space for a tea/coffee facility, the bathroom was a small but REASONABLE size for the price and it was clean! Everything worked, slept like a log and to our surprise breakfast was a pretty good layout too, definitely nicer than your simple toast and cereal. The gentleman running the shift were extremely hard working and were in and out of the dining room refilling/refreshing food and drink. They deserve more credit that they’re given, courteous and polite. If you’re looking for a place that EXCEEDS the expectation for what your paying, you probably have your standards a bit too high. If you’re wanting a 5* weekend break in Bicester and want the full monty, spend more money! Of course I can’t speak for every room but we believe what they offered here at Almond Tree Hotel was more than enough. Thankyou for our stay!
