Delightful family friendly villa with new private & heated pool
We have renovated the entire downstairs area to include, a new travertine floor throughout, a HUGE new kitchen dining room with two sets of doors (beautifully light) that lead out onto two separate terraces which take you down to the pool area. There is a new double bedroom upstairs, a beautifully modern family bathroom and an en-suite shower room adjoining bedroom 4.
Charming family friendly villa sitting in an acre of private grounds offering panoramic views, steps away from a tranquil and traditional working French village. With over 300 days of sunshine in the region and a particularly favourable microclimate in Cebazan, this is a great place to relax and catch some rays.
Villa Alais is located in a charming village near St Chinian in the middle of Wine country. In summary the Villa offers a HUGE fully equipped family kitchen, dining room with seating for 8, large lounge with plenty of comfy seating and twin french doors opening onto the front terrace. The house is fully furnished, in addition to a full stock of modern conveniences including wifi, widescreen HD TV
There are multiple terraces around the villa that catch the sun across the day, perfect to take coffee and croissants in the morning or a sundowner before dinner in the afternoon. If you are looking for a calm retreat to recharge your batteries then this is it, with great wine, great food and lots of space to relax in the sunshine.
The relaxed working village of Cebazan is on your doorstep, with a great bakery and fabulous wine tasting only steps away. The AOC wine making town of St Chinian is 3 kilometres away: five minutes in the car, 16 minutes by bicycle and about 35 minutes walk along the quiet country roads that pass old ruins and offer views to the med.
The villa is equipped with all of the conveniences you need to make the most of your holiday including a private heated swimming pool, two BBQs (one gas / one charcoal ). Villa Alais is very family friendly - designed with our little one in mind - with high chair, child cot and children's toys. If there is anything in particular that you might need, please send us an enquiry and we will do our best to accommodate.
Great beaches are easily accessible along the Languedocienne coast: our favourite is Serignan Plage which is just 30 minutes away. For the more adventurous, Kayaking, Horse Riding and several other activities are easily accessible as an alternative to more relaxed pastimes such as the wine tours that are very popular in this region.
The villa features a patio and 1.5 bathrooms, and there's space to spread out with 4 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find a TV with a DVD player. Other standard amenities include a private pool, a washing machine, and a fireplace.

Private with lots of space, ideal for 2 families
We (two families of four) stayed at Villa Alais in early August and had a wonderful time. The photos don't do the place justice, as the pool and back seating/BBQ area seemed further away from the house than they are - it's actually all really close/together and sociable! We had a lovely time, thank you!

Lovely house in gorgeous part of France
Lovely spacious villa in a quiet, pretty village in the south of France. Spacious kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining areas made family meals a pleasure. Private salt water pool was lovely and made for a really relaxing holiday. Local town of St Chinian is charming and the surrounding scenery is outstanding. Host was really helpful. Thoroughly recommend the villa for a comfortable, relaxing stay in a gorgeous part of France.

Fantastic base for exploring the area
Huge property. Loved the space, the big kitchen, the sunny pool, and the fact there are lots of eating areas so you can chase the sun or shade. Walked into the village for croissants, pizzas and did the wonderfully picturesque walk over to St. Chinian a couple of times for the market or just for breakfast. The bakery there is great! Visited Beziers and Montpellier and did beach sports at Valras. Also enjoyed doing a tour at Noilly Prat in Marseillan and the water jousting at Sete. It was also a great base for visiting the river Orb valley with its picturesque old villages and watersports. .

Villa Alais for a memorable family holiday.
Large family villa with excellent outdoor spaces on the edge of a quiet village. There are wonderful terraces with table and chairs for outdoor eating, with a gas and charcoal BBQs. The stunning pool had plenty of lounge seating with a smart fence and lockable gates for child safety. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The kitchen had plenty of equipment to self cater for a large family. Very useful baby/child equipment including a baby bath, toys, cot and a high chair. There were bikes and games equipment available which we did not use on this visit. Pleasant walk (40mins) or drive to St Chinian which has market days, cafes, shops and supermarkets. Bakery 5min walk into village for fresh bread for breakfast. Lots of interesting places to visit and the coast is not far away. We all enjoyed our stay in Villa Alais and would love to return for a longer stay. The owners have been very helpful before and during our stay answering any of our queries. We thoroughly recommend this villa.

Perfect!
This was our second stay at this excellent property.
It has everything that you could wish for, whether it be for a group of adults or for a family or two.
On this visit our children and grandchildren joined us and it worked perfectly for all.
The property is beautifully decorated and well maintained. It has a fantastic ambiance - as soon as we arrived we felt welcome, comfortable and relaxed.
The kitchen is well equiped and there is also a great barbecue. Having a choice of two outside eating areas plus a dining room allows for comfortable eating, whatever the weather.
There is a great inside living area too, fully equipped with tv and video.
All the bedrooms are great.
Although there is no air conditioning it is possible to maintain a pleasant cool environment by using the substantial shutters that are present on the windows and doors.
And then there is the pool! This area has been renovated since our last visit and is absolutely stunning. Lovely during the day (with plenty of shade) and also in the evening with the stylish lighting on.
The property suited us very well for a large family stay, but we are thinking that we will book it again to use as a base for a cycling holiday. There are excellent cycle routes throughout the Languedoc region - we plan to fly to Beziers and hire bikes from there, but there is also a bike hire shop in nearby St Chinian. There are two bikes available at the property for local use.
The property is well situated for visits to other villages, towns and cities. In Cebazan a walk to the boulangerie for croissants each morning is a treat and there are also some wineries where you can sample the excellent local wines. In nearby St Chinian there is a good range of shops and restaurants. The St Chinian market (Thursdays and Sundays)has delicious local produce and fresh fish.
I would recommend day trips to some of the magnificent cities in the region - Narbonne and Beziers in particular. It is also possible to visit the seaside towns of Agde, Sete and Marseillan Plage.
On our first visit we had a great time kayaking in one of the nearby rivers.
And on our list for our next visit is to explore some of the nearby Roman ruins.
In summary, I thoroughly recommend this accomodation and sincerely hope that I will be able to return.

A fabulous family holiday
If you love wine, great food and exploring ..it's hard to beat! The weather was ideal, great for sunbathing and swimming in the pool but not too hot (we had a baby with us). The house is ideal for families, and has all sorts of toys and equipment for children, which they adored. I particularly liked chatting with the locals(especially whilst wine tasting), visiting the markets and sightseeing in Bezier. A delightful holiday, enjoyed by all.

A wonderful stay in peaceful sunny tranquility
We had a lovely stay in Villa Alais and can only thank David and Sarah for the "loan" of. The Villa itself offers everything that you need and has so much space to spread into. We loved eating in the evening at the outside table by the BBQ and watch the sun go down and would breakfast in the morning on the front terrace, two totally different aspects. The pool is an absolute bonus and there were enough loungers / chairs for everyone!
The local area is very peaceful and rustic but within easy reach of so much. We all loved walking over the top, through the vineyards to the village of St Chinian (about an half hour walk). The village is very buzzy, particularly on Sunday market day plus good restaurants and bars on offer.
Our party consisted of 5 adults with varied interests. Everything to enjoy was never too far, canoeing, golf, walking and cycling right on your doorstep. I would recommend a visit to Valras Plage, lovely beach with good restaurants, men playing boules - a French delight.
Also during our stay we were lucky to see the grapes being harvested and delivered to the local distilleries, I could go on but really just to say we had a lovely holiday and are definitely considering going back.
Beautiful and spacious house with an enjoyable various terrace. A modern and a great place to relax.
An ideal base which is easy to reach.
We had a good time.
However, we have the feeling that the house is not well maintained. The heating of the pool was broken and could not be repaired. There was a broken pool filter (a danger for kids), and the BBQ was still very dirty from the previous guests. I must add that all problems were solved by the management office asap. thumbs up for this. Overall recommendable.
The house is spacious with enough bedrooms, sitting rooms and a new fantastic kitchen. Very spacious pool with lots of space around the pool and plenty of sun beds. the various terraces are also pleasant. Highly recommended to stay in the region!

Completely honest
The house description is honest to every word. The house has everything to every age. It just works. The management office are on location to ensure the pool quality 2 times each week. Definitely worth a stay.
