Location really handy to get around. Staff just brilliant with everything you need. Did not experience breakfast as within 200m several cafes all with an abundance of breakfasts are available. Common area reception fine but landings & rooms, well, it is as if it were a former East Berlin Hotel, toshed out to Western Standards couple of years back....super clean, furniture new and those well maintained but not much attention paid to corners, details, trims and paint job. A little tired and lax in those areas. Having said that, for the price it is top and would not hesitate to visit again on a deal.
Very friendly and halpfull staff. Good location, close to public transport. Room was nice (renovated one), quiet good size, bed very comfortable. Cleanliness could have been better - can't say it was dirty but should be more clean in the 4* hotel :) Leaky door - I could hear any noise from the corridor. The interior of the hotel corridors looks out dated, like it haven't been renovated for a long time. I recommend for a short business stay.
Four star hotel in some aspects, not so in others. Reception always appears to exceptionally busy, there is no concierge service and the reception staff deal with all guest enquiries and problems as wel as handling check in and check out, this can lead to quite considerable waiting times. The staff are very helpful when you do get to them however. Why is there not a a concierge desk? Beautiful lobby/lounge/bar area totally ruined by am industrial looking stainless steel wall of lifts. The room was well equipped although small, attention to detail was lacking, scuff marks, peeling stickers, marks on the bathroom floor etc. Breakfast food was varied and good, but some thought needs to be given to the layout of the buffet, it can be a bit of a battle getting to the food and finding a table, not as it should be in this type of hotel. Flag was missing from a flag pole. Shrubs were dying at the entrance. Sunblinds over the terrace were sagging and full of water. Light missing in bathroom. No batteries in remote,You get the picture? Overall our stay was ok, the location was good, But for four stars and the price we expected just a little more attention to detail
I have visited in Berlin many times. Last time when visited Berlin my friend suggested me a Wyndham Berlin excselior . From the beginning I was not sure if I would enjoy it or not. So I looked at the website and decided to give it a try. Since I am a smoker I would prefer room with balcony . So the hotel has two suites with balcony but not any other rooms. So I did book my self a superior room not junior suite. Hoping to get a upgrade . So When I checked in ,the receptionist guy was very helpful and kind. I believe he was come from former Soviet Union so he spoke perfect Russian. So I did explain to him my situation. He did his best and downgraded my reservation to classic room. There was no junior suits were not available. I thought hey ....... but we found out there was a room with huge terrace balcony on the top floor rights next to the suits. Also he offered free breakfast during my stay. Clever ha. I was very happy. Room it self too small but I had a terrace. What else do I needed. Nothing.
This hotel was perfect for us. A lot of reviewers complain about lack of space etc. But all we wanted was a cleaning comfortable room. It was definitely that. The bar area was good and the restaurant breakfast was plentiful. Close location to zoo meant we had a good landmark when using public transport for exploring. Reception staff gave excellent advice regarding transport and places to visit. We will be back.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Really friendly and helpful reception staff. Really close to the U and S Bahn.
Small room bit very present and comfortable. No problems with noise. Breakfast is good. Good location with connections to go downtown easily.
Stayed in this hotel for four nights in March 2017. It's located just a short-walk (5 mins max) away from Zoologischer Garten station, which is on the S-Bahn, U-Bahn and regional railways routes. The hotel itself looked very smart and modern on the ground floor but once you got to the upper floors with the rooms on, it does look a bit tired and in need of a bit of a refresh - though it was clean enough. The room itself was okay, probably about fair for the price paid (£240 for four nights including a Friday - can't complain). One minor issue we did have was we booked a double room but it was setup as a twin. One major issue was that the drain on the bathroom floor blocked on the third night whilst having a shower, flooding the bathroom floor. Full marks to the staff on reception who sorted us out with a replacement room (which seemed to be a slight upgrade at no additional cost). Would definitely consider staying again particularly if working around that kind of budget.
Not central but a 15 min walk to buses and trains at the zoological station and terminal which is also a meet up place for the walking tours which we took. Adequate room and service. Breakfast at adjacent restaurant good.
It was an kay place to stay, but i left my sunglasses and watch in my room on accident after checkout and got no help trying to recover them
