It was a short 2-night stay. It's not New York or Beverly Hills but it's trying. Can't wait for Waldorf Astoria New York to reopen. The hotel itself is fine but it is in a tough competitive market where there are so many great hotels in Berlin. We prefer Kempinski Adlon and The Stue in Berlin but Waldorf Astoria Berlin works for a short stay.
We arrived late in the evening and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked through the door in this beautiful hotel with the most efficient staf we come across to. The breakfast was served in this elegant room with everything you think of eating and more, the library on the 15th floor was a treat for the eye with a view catching your breath, the Roca restaurant with tasty food and well trained staff, the bar with every drink you wish and at last but not least the room. Our room was located in the 12th floor with double aspect window, classy, elegant, spacious and spotless and we could not been more please. After 5 days visiting around in this lovely city with a lot to offer we were so sad that we had to leave and we started making plans for our next visit. When we left Gicomo from the front desk team said to us that the hotel is aiming to make you fill homesick when you are at home, which I believe they are achieving. We want to say thank you Jessica from Roca restaurant, who looked beautifully after us in all three occasions we dined in. We will be back!
There are so many hotel options in Berlin that you get dizzy when it is time to choose! If you prefer the former West Berlin area, then the Waldorf Astoria is your place to stay. The hotel is modern, located within walking distance of the Kurfurstendamm (one of the city's main shopping streets) and also right across the memorial church of Kaiser Wilhem (perhaps the biggest symbol of the city after the Brandenburger Tor). Breakfast was beyond any imagination: I have never seen so many options in one single hotel! It was like having breakfast and lunch for the day. The concierges were fantastic as well and always managed to obtain good reservation for concerts and restaurants. The rooms are modern, gigantic (thanks to HiltonHonors we got an upgrade!), with great city views. The only issue was our noisy room ''neighbors'', but it was not a hotel specific issue. The other point is that perhaps I prefer staying in East Berlin next time, but that is a personal matter. In West Berlin, there is no question: stay in the Waldorf Astoria!
We came to Berlin for the Depeche Mode concert ... And because I do love Waldorf Astoria, the one in Berlin was my choice for sure. Everything was amazing from the arrival until the departure ... Ok, check in was a little bit too long, and there is no anymore very good restaurant in the hotel ( from the departure of Pierre Gagnaire ) ... But you can trust me, all the Waldorf Astoria Team knows how to surprise you. Gifts and toys for my 5 years old son, organisazion of a baby sitter for the evening ... Everything was great. The suite was fabulous and the view spectacular above Berlin ... Stop by and enjoy ...
The hotel is very stylish and clean. Our room was very straightforward, yet the view was a bit random - seemingly a train station. The service was excellent. They thoroughly cleaned the room and were able to pick up two items outside of the hotel which we requested. The spa was amazing; my girlfriend went for a facial and said it was one of the best she'd ever had. The food was my biggest gripe, we had lunch in the hotel one day and I was very disappointed by its quality.
Spend New Years Eve and a couple of days before and after in the Waldorf. Very Centrally locates for the Western Part of Berlin, close to Zoo, Bahnhof Zoo, Gedächtnis Kirche , Kurfürstendamm, KADeWe etc, with great views from the higher floors over the city.. Very nice rooms and good staff.. recommend the diner in the ground floor No real Hotel Bar.. but lost of places around... may want to try the Motel One Hotel Bar on the 10th floor... just opposite if the Walldorf... Good restaurant some steps away if you walk up Kantstrasse Recommend Cigar lounge in Savoy Hotel All place in Berlin have good U/S-Bahn/ Bus Connection via Bahnhof Zoo or just take a cab.
After a wild new year in East Berlin with friends I checked in solo (after they returned home to work) into this amazing hotel. Im a big fan of quality hotels and don't mind splashing out if it's worth it. What price can you put on breakfast in (a very comfy) bed, a spa every morning, popping out for lunch as it bang in the middle of everything before a relaxing dinner in the hotel and Netflix on the in-room Apple Mac. Just what the doctor ordered. The best hotel in Berlin in my opinion and it's cafe has the best cheesecake in town too.
Just perfect....... Visit Lang bar for sure, Yianik the bartender will make your stay unforgettable, extremely highly service. OK all the staff was very helpful and friendly, You have to arrange a trip to this Hotel.. Congrats!!!!!
It’s hard to say anything else other than perfect to be honest. Staff, Room, Food, Drink and attention to detail was all superb. And to top all that off Depeche Mode were also staying here but sadly no private performance in the bar. Will definitely return.
Stunning hotel made even better by the fantastic staff and first class service. From the moment we arrived the concierge staff made us feel like millionaires. They took care of literally everything for us and nothing was any trouble. Check in was fast and seamless. The room was awesome with our two rooms joined to create a panorama viewing opportunity of Berlin from all of the windows, The Breakfast buffet was amazing and the service outstanding. The only slight negative would have been the service in the Roca restaurant in the evening was lacking due to the restaurant being busy and not enough staff. The Lang bar was great and the cocktails delicious. Highly recommend this Hotel.
