loved this hotel. lovely and clean. décor wonderful. Staff helpful and so polite. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. So close to transport. Tram and train station across the road. Added bonus of sky bar which gave you a spectacular view of Berlin especially good at night with the lights. Only thing not so good was the walking distance to the lift but many rooms would be near to the lifts. Enjoyed breakfast especially the cherry jam and choice of honeys. Well done to all staff who work there.
This hotel is truly beautiful. The foyer is quite breathtaking. The lounge area is spacious and attractive. Our room was comfortable and both bedroom and bathroom were a good size. The dining area is really large and very modern. The breakfast menu of both hot and cold food is outstanding.I don't know where else I have seen such an amazing choice. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We eat in the ground floor restaurant/bar area each day and were given a very warm welcome. There is a further Garden restaurant on the top floor which I understand has a wonderful view. The hotel is located right by tram stops and a station is just a few yards away.It is therefore ideally placed for getting around the city.
We stayed at Andel's Vienna House for 7 nights and booked 2 rooms for our family of 5. The hotel was bigger than I expected (over 500 rooms) and with conference facilities. So you do get a lot of groups staying there. Overall the hotel is pleasant and clean. We got a deal through booking.com for €140 for standard double and €220 for junior suite which is a double bed with a sofa pull out bed. Generally the rooms were clean, breakfast was ok and served the same choices of hot and bread selections, and the service was attentive. The standard room was small with an adequate small hanging wardrobe space but no drawers so if you stay as for a week, the storage is not quite enough for 2 adults in a standard room. Though the junior suite has good drawers and hanging wardrobe space. The hotel is out of the centre area of sights seeing and there is a tram directly outside of the hotel which takes about 15mins to Alexander platz which seems to be the main connection point for all transport (trams, underground and train). However if you are travelling with kids and walking around Berlin for 8-10hours a day, this hotel is not so convenient if you want to have a rest after a long day before heading out for dinner. I would have preferred to stay more central in area such as Hackersche Hofe where there are plenty of restaurants choices to eat out. There is not much around Andel's hotel except a Burger King within walking distance. The hotel has 2 restaurants and one of which is a michelin star chef and we tried many times to book prior to arriving at hotel and was turned down. The ground floor restaurant Maverick serve standard fast food of burgers and sandwiches at a high price (€15 for a burger). The Sky bar was nice but again drinks are on a high price due to the lack of choices in the area. Overall if you are in Berlin for a short time try to stay in more central area to avoid the commuting.
Wow ! What a great hotel ! We absolutely loved it all - the style, the design of our modern room, the breakfast, the service and the location. Ah yes....and the price :-) The only thing you should take into account is that the usage of the Sauna/Jacuzzi area is free of charge for the hotel guests, BUT you need to be naked in order to get in....
Andels by Vienna house in Berlin is a huge hotel, located just outside Landsberger Allee metro station. Thus it is very well located for moving out and about in Berlin. Unfortunately the elevators are all positioned in a central area and our rooms were not close to the elevators, so we had long walks to and from the room each day just to reach the elevators. The rooms had all normal amenities and were clean and the beds were super comfortable for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was a feast with a very wide selection of food. The spa had a nudie hot tub, for all genders.
We stayed here in July 2017, the hotel is a little outside of the city centre, but with a tram stop just across the road, this wasn't a problem. The hotel is clean, modern, the rooms are lovely as are the bathrooms. The reception areas are all good too. The reception staff and the concierge were all very friendly and helpful, our only grumble really was the bar staff in the sky bar, we found them to be extremely slow in taking orders, while stood around talking to each other, to the point where we actually walked out after 25 minutes of waiting for our orders to be taken, as did other people there. That said the bar itself is lovely, with a great view of the city, the hotel just review the staffing of it a little. Overall a good hotel and a lovely stay.
Andels by Vienna House is a bit out there - Landesberger Strasse - BUT it is easily accessible by Sbahn or the M-Line; about 15-20 minutes to Alexander Platz. Terrific design, lovely rooms, comfortable bed and one of the best showers ever. I paid c. $130 a night, which is more than I usually do (I am frugal) but would stay again in an instant. The one drawback is that it serves as hotel for youth sports teams at times. One breakfast was like competing with ravenous, youthful hordes. But everything was quickly replenished and it was one the of most diverse breakfast buffets I have seen. A classy choice for your Berlin visit!
We stayed here from 2nd to 7th July, room 806, we had emailed the hotel before for information/requests but did not receive a response. We arrived before midday and asked if it was possible to check in early, the lady who attended to us gave us a form to fill in and said there was no room available, we asked if we could leave our luggage and went to get a few things to take out with us. When we went back over minutes later another member of staff attended to us and checked his computer and told us a room was available for us, we were very grateful as it had been a very early start. We were given some information then made our way to our room. The room was clean and the view was onto the the main road, as it was a high floor noise was not an issue. The bed was massive but the pillows were to soft for our liking, the tv has 2 British news channels, there is also a DVD player, there is no USB power points, there is a kettle and cups and coffee/tea replenished when room made up. There was not any drawer space but adequate wardrobe space, the bathroom was a good size with both a shower and bath. There was a supply of toiletries and a good hairdryer. There was a mini bar which we did not use but please beware and check the contents as one of the water bottles looked like it had been tampered with and we did report this to reception, we did not count what was in the mini bar and on checkout were about to be charged for a fruit juice which we did not have, the matter was cleared up and the charge removed when we denied having used anything from the minibar and had previously reported the water issue the day before. The breakfast was something we were looking forward to after reading so many rave reviews was a bit disappointing. There was a reasonable choice of items but most days we went there was something that was empty and items seemed to take a bit of time to be replenished, it was quite a small area for the amount of guests, especially as there was a lot of disabled guests in wheelchairs who seemed to find it difficult to access the high counters. There were 2 different areas in the breakfast room and the one further away from the toilets seemed calmer and better organised, every day though staff would drop dishes or cutlery, some of them seemed very clumsy. We knew the hotel was a bit far out from the main attraction but the public transport was good, albeit a bit tatty and covered in graffiti. There is an Aldi a short stroll to the side of the hotel just past the fuel station, it is open Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm, we used this for snacks, beer and water, prices much the same as back home. There is also a Burger King just across the road from the hotel. We were quite disappointed on our last day to arrive back at our room to find it had not been made up, we were in our room to just after midday that day but did not realise housekeeping would not be making up room, we removed the do not disturb sign before we went out. Overall our expectations were not met and we would not recommend this hotel to others.
My partner and I stayed for a few nights in the hotel and I can't really fault it. Location was excellent, as was within walking distance from the train station, which has a direct link to the airport, and the tram to the city center is across the road. (and there is a Lidl just behind if you're peckish.) The room was a good size, though the door of the loo opens up onto the bed head, which is a bit weird, but not a deal breaker. The only down side with the room was that it got quite warm and the air-con didn't seem to make much of a difference. (Though we did find out on the last day that the windows open....)
The hotel and the room itself are clean and well designed. The bathroom is also great with a separate bath and shower. We found the hotel itself to be fairly out the way of anything with it being a 30 minute subway ride to get to central Berlin. The 30 minute direct subway to the airport is useful. We found the reception service to be poor. We were also asked to pay a 50 euro deposit on arrival even though we had paid for the hotel months before. It has been 2 weeks since we checked out and we are still waiting for this 50 euro deposit to be refunded to us even though at check out we were told it would take a few days!! Overall clean hotel but not great service.
