My compliments to the entire team who treated our group with care and consideration which was even higher than our elevated expectations; outstanding. The hotel itself is excellently located. The rooms (superior room) were spacious and extremely well appointed. The food was excellent. What a delight to find a hotel that takes its breakfast offering seriously; wide selection and high quality, but with excellent personal service. Unsure about the spa/pool which was slightly less in keeping with the rest of the hotel, but that was not on our agenda and hence not worthy of any further comment. Excellent city hotel.
I stayed here on a business trip for 3 nights. The front desk, bellman, cleaning stuff, room service -everyone was so lovely and accommodating. I was in a newly renovated room and it was very nice as well. The bed and pillows were better than my bed at home and the bathroom had a lovely tub that I didn’t have a chance to use. I’ve taken off one star because the WiFi pretty much didn’t work in my room. It would have been nice to be able to work from my room at times but it wasn’t possible.
We stayed here for the Christmas markets! absolutely stunning! we were well looked after and the suite was well furnished with fresh fruit, iced drinks and highly polished furniture! A must stay for special occasions!
Perfect hotel for Christmas in Berlin. It is central to all the activities and historical sites of Berlin. The staff at the hotel make it very special and are typical of the Ritz Carlton high end brand. Highly recommend.
The location of the Ritz is superb in the middle of Postdamer Platz. The room was large, airy and newly decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The concierge and the doorman were wonderfully helpful and a delight. The food in the restaurant came quickly and the service for breakfast and lunch was good. But that's where the rave reviews stop. The check-in was without problem but lacked any charm at all. There was no turn down service the two nights I was there, which is surprising for a hotel of this category. The bathroom amenities were not replenished (despite having been all used up) so I had to request them. The pressure was abysmal in the shower so much so that I had to use the bath to rinse the shampoo out of my hair (nothing was done about this despite my raising it the first morning). The handheld attachment for the bath was unhooked and required a call to housekeeping. A jacket came back from the regular laundry service with a newly bleached spot and still damp. A request for a hotel car to take me to the airport was not followed up- not a huge problem as taxis are readily available, but still disappointing. I am a member of their loyalty program and have stayed in many of their other properties, this was not up to their usual standard. I would expect a lot more from a Ritz hotel.
Absolutely Awesome, OMG, fabulous, there aren’t enough superlatives to describe this hotel. This is one luxurious hotel right in the heart of city amongst most of the prominent things to see. One complaint I have was the pillows on bed were too soft but that is a small and personal thing for me. Don’t let it put you off.
Stayed 3 nights. There is still some construction going on. We had a non renovated room, which is not bad, but can definitely tell it was in need of a remodel. The staff is warm and welcoming. Finding a doorman in the later evening or early morning was hit or miss. Fragrances bar is still closed, will be opening soon. The curtain club bar was very nice. The bartenders there are awesome. I believe Samantha was the name of one of the bartenders and I regret that I do not remember the names of the other bartenders. But, we stopped in every night of our visit and greatly appreciate the hospitality that we received. Used the concierge to help reserve tickets for the Pergamon museum, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant Desbrassos is also a good place to eat. Overall this is really nice hotel. The location is absolutely perfect. Once the renovations are complete this hotel could easily achieve the 5th star, but for now it will receive the 4 stars due to some wear and tear, I am a fan of classic/historic but parts of the hotel and our room were just used up and need tlc.
We stayed here for three nights. I'm not sure what *didn't* go poorly. At check-in, we were told when our room would be ready and two hours after that time, it still was unavailable. Luggage was never delivered to the room and after about a half hour I fetched it myself from the storage room. Trash was left in the room by housekeeping every one of the three days. A renovation was mentioned. Not mentioned was the fact that the noise was so loud that one could not talk over it and it lasted all day long. I mentioned all this to the Guest Relations manager and was offered an upgrade on a future visit-- an event that will never occur. I've stayed at RC properties in DC, Moscow, Istanbul, Beijing, and others. This property was unrecognizable if you are expecting typical Ritz-Carlton standards. Do yourself a favor and avoid this particular RC property.
We recently stayed at this hotel for a 4 night trip. The hotel was everything we were expecting; clean, great service and a very comfortable room. We stayed in a room that hasn't been renovated yet, so it had a little bit of wear and tear but nothing major. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was huge, with a separate shower, bathroom and his and hers sinks. We were on the fourth floor and we didn't hear much noise, apart from the building work which did start quite early. The hotel is located in Potsdamer Platz, about a 15 minute slow walk to the Brandenburg Gate, which we felt was a great location for us. The underground train station is located directly outside of the hotel and is a great way to get around. The Mall of Berlin and Sony Centre are also right next door with a lot of shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay in this hotel again the next time we visit Berlin.
The service at this hotel was exceptional. Considering we were with a group of 360 people, it was amazing. The hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and wonderful sightseeing. It’s an upscale 5 star hotel. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a royal treatment.
