A good hotel overall, but with a few lacks: first of all, and worst, breakfast is not included and costs 13€. A day. Per person. Nope. Rooms were good, but not exceptional. There are no air-co and fridge, and outside is generally very noisy: I could hear people and music every night before falling asleep. However, position is strategic: 2 min from underground, and close to restaurants, cafès and shops. Wi-fi is also OK, at least in the rooms. Recommend.
We have used the hotel twice, once for business and then for a tourist visit. It is well located, 15 mins from Zoo station so easy access from airports. Round the corner is Wittenberg Platz U Bahn station which gives immediate access to the network (one stop from Zoo, but you may as well walk). The area is well served with bars, cafes and a supermarket plus shopping in Kurfurstendamm. Main decider was price.
Average hotel ... with the strict minimum in the room. Room furnitures need to be replaced. No safety box in the room. No minibar in the room. Good wifi . Well situated , a u-bhan station not very far from it ...
I had a relatively cheap deal and felt that I got about what I expected for the money. I would say that the hotel really needs to consider installing air conditioning. Climate is changing and very hot days are now common in Central Europe. These hotels can't pretend that what passed in the 1970s can still work today. My room was exposed to the sun all day and it was rather uncomfortable at night. I stayed for 5 nights at the end of June and barely had a good night's sleep.
I managed to book 4 nights on hotels.com with a special discount/early bird promo rate and it was cheaper to stay than any double private rooms in hostels throughout the whole city. It was in the perfect location, amazing restaurant's and bars nearby, tier garden is easy walking distance- as is everything else if you like to walk (40 mins at a slow pace with a quick beer stop to Brandenburg and a chunk of the wall). Room was clean but it's an older hotel so don't expect granite benches and a modern-IKEA looking chair- it has a real 'old school' feel which is quirky they even still have a bible in the drawer! Staff are friendly and helpful, only downside is there is no option to pay extra for an early check in, we arrived at 6am after a red eye from Iceland and thought maybe we could spend a bit extra to check in at 12:30 but had to wait till 3pm on no sleep which was gruelling- thankfully they held our bags for free and Tier garden and lots of cheap bars are around so we met friends and drank our tiredness away.
Stayed for four nights here. The location is amazing, so close to KaDeWe mall and the Schöneberg area. Upon check-in I received a twin instead of double room, which the staff promptly and happily fixed. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and eager to help. The rooms were spacious and tidy enough, however there was a horrible smell coming from the bathroom and mould in the shower (which had been attempted to be cleaned) The rooms are advertised as soundproofed, however they are anything but. There is no air-con or fan so had to sleep with the window open and the noise from the back street was very loud. Even noise from the hotel was not dulled. I think the hotel is used for groups and we happened to be staying at the same time as a girls school group. Running through the halls and yelling at night was very unpleasant, and our room next to the elevator made sure there wasn't a quiet moment in the room. Earplugs needed. The wifi was painfully slow in the rooms and you are only entitled to 24 hours of use. Budget hotel, probably wouldn't return.
The Hotel is located in the heart of West Berlin. Just a few walk to the famous grand mall KadeWe along kurfürstendamm aka KuDam. Nothing else to brag about besides the very central location.. The Hotel is very old. I got the 6th floor in the very end with a key, (yes a key on ring). However I noticed other doors is matched with standard keycards.. The space in room was great, plenty of space and the bathroom was big and lit. However no appliances if you want to store something chilled etc.. High end restaurant to street and family owned can be found writing located area, grocery is very convenient!
Reazonable. Old but clean rooms. Recently refurbished but very simple. Old looks bathroom. Nice price in comparison with berlim prices. Small public areas hotel, small bar and very simple common areas.
Decent budget hotel within easy walking distance to public transport about 10 minutes walk from the airport express trains. Plenty of hot water and clean rooms made up every day. Had a shower no bath. Didn't have breakfast at 13 euros small cafe/bar 2 minutes down the road plenty of choice and good service around 5 euros. Would stay at this hotel again but don't think I will visit Berlin again. Pub just across the road mixture of locals and tourists and hey if you smoke you can do so inside😊
Hotel is on great location in former centar of west Berlin, very close to metro station.Everything you need is in walking distance, good little pub with draft beer, bakery, market wich work until 11pm,KadeWe shoping centar... Hotel itself has seen a better days, but it's clean and the service is great. We were on the 6- th floor in june and I can tell you that it can be very warm and there is no aircodition and no minibar.Wi-fi is limited to one device and 24 hour after wich you need to renew your password but signal is good.Over all you get what you paid. I recommend it as a base for a tourist visit of Berlin, but maybe not in hot summer months.
