We booked room in 11th floor Club Sofitel. Room was ok and beds great. I think that bathtub does not have water thermostate or it is fault. One moment water is ok and next moment it is really hot. If you enjoy sitting in bathtub relaxing your tired muscle so be careful. Club room was small and offerings quite ok. It is sad that booking with club room you can’t enjoy buffet breakfast at the big restaurant. My booking was clearly stated that only continental breakfast is included. So next time I book more carefully. FreeWifi is only 1 Mb and the other option Premium is so expensive that it is better to go Vodafone or Telecom for Prepaid Sim and you can have good speed. Overall nice visit in Berlin.
When I checked in, the lady at the desk said "Let me find you a nice room". I learned later that that comment was meant sarcastically. I was put in a room facing the street, I had to move the furniture in order to open the Minibar, and all afternoon I could hear the pounding of a base guitar. At 23.00, when the pounding of the base guitar was keeping from sleeping, I called the front desk to ask if there was a Disco in the Hotel. She said no. I told her that I could loud Music the entire afternoon/evening, and she informed me that there is a Cocktail bar/Night Club next door, and that they couldn't do anyhting about it. I told her she COULD do somethiing about it by moving me to a quieter room. She finally agreed, and I had to re-dress and re-pack my bags at 23.00 PM. The room that I was moved too smelled as if it had not been used in several weeks (the drains stunk), there was an ugly stain on the carpet, the carpet was full of lent and dust, and the bathroom sink was cracked. The only good experience I had in this hotel was in the breakfast room. The staff was very friendly both mornings.
This hotel is in a perfect location for shops and restaurants and handy for public transport links. The bar is lovely. We didn’t eat in the hotel. Room was perfect for two travelling friends and the rate was very fair. Good size bathroom and wardrobe. A couple of small irritations- towels weren’t changed despite us leaving them in the bath. Not greeted as an Accor member. Had to ask for my drinks vouchers. Defeats the purpose of the loyalty scheme really.
Had two queen beds in room and there was a lot of room to move around. Very clean too Location was good next two a lot of bus stops and rail locations. The hotel had a good restaurant and nice bar. I would recommend this hotel to stay in Berlin.
I just woke up I decided to describe all the pros and cons of this hotel, unfortunately the general impression is terrible. Pros: very good location in the heart of "kudamstrasse" ... large and spacious rooms ... This is the end of the advantages... Cons: The hotel is disgusting and old The lobby reminds you of movies where the action takes place about 50 years ago and the quests stops in Transylvania and Dracula is hiding just by the corner ... The rooms need a total renovation - they are old This is a hotel with the worst quality / price ratio I have been in the last time. Never again!!! Today moving to ZOO Hotel - much better choice.
For the the fourth consecutive year, I stayed one week, then another five days, at the Sofitel Kudamm in July 12017. I had wanted to stay for 2 consecutive weeks, but after the first I had to leave for 4 days, to another hotel nearby, because a Fashion Week show had booked the hotel. then I was able to return. Built in 2006, the Sofitel has won awards for its architecture, Located at the corner of Kudamm, the main shopping street in (west) Berlin, and Augsburgerstrasse, with an U-Bahn (subway) station right outside the door. The rooms are very large, and the bathroom is divided into thee separate compartments, including a "rain forest" shower, double sinks, and very large bathtub.. A highlight is the "Breakfast Buffet", definitely the best I have had in thirty some years of traveling in Europe, with eggs and pancakes made to order; fish including herring and smoked salmon, cheeses,; fresh fruit; diverse breads and pastries; and coffee served at your table. There is none of the "chaos" ' that typifies buffets at most other hotels The location is ideal. The U-Bahn serves all of central Berlin, and a few streets away is the S-Bahn station at Zoologischer Garten, for longer trips./ (The Zoo is an ideal visit for children).. Perhaps the only downside is that the immediate Kudamm area is somewhat short on good restaurants, but the very knowledgeable, multilingual Concierge can recommend some which are just a short cab ride away. I have stayed in four other hotels in Berlin , both 4 and 5 star, in the past seven years, but none comes close to the accommodations , location, breakfast, and service offered by the Sofitel Berlin Kudamm. Ausgezeichnet!
Location is really good and it’s easy to find. Right next to U-Bahn and plenty of bus routes. Check in is easy and staff really helpful. I had a very large room. The biggest I have had in a hotel and plenty of room to relax. The club lounge was right next door so I was in there for breakfast and canapés in the evening. Good views of the city in the lounge, professional and welcoming staff and the food and drink was good. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well. The light was kept out by having 2 sets of curtains. The bathroom was large with a bath and separate wc and shower. In the room itself was another wc. Nespresso machine was provided with tea also but I couldn’t find anyway of making tea. Ample storage space for clothes and toiletries provided were Hermes which was a nice addition. There was no noise from other rooms and doors closed quietly so not disturbed. Should I come back to Berlin this is my hotel of choice and is reliable as are all the Sofitel hotels I have stayed out.
Excellent hotel with great location Large rooms and indulging in a rich and tasty breakfast We enjoyed the stay at the hotel and courteous service and the location of the hotel is close to the train stations and the shops area
The first thing noted when checking in is the welcoming and efficient staff, then the room which is spacious and very functional. The bed, the TV system, the coffee machine, and most importantly the bathroom. With the cold weather it was a fantastic treat to take a long & hot bath in the wide bathtub. Hotel facilities are well kept from top to bottom and you know that team is on top of things here – highly recommended
Very hard to leave the suite at the Sofitel, it's well equipped, ultra stylish and there's a very decent room service. They bumped me to the Opera Suite, grateful would be an understatement. At almost 100m² and featuring huge curved windows with views over the city, this place oozes luxury. The front desk are super efficient. If I had a gripe, it would be the breakfast room, over full and chaotic, Sofitel you need a bigger/another breakfast room... All in all, fantastic...
