Booked a room at Hotel Savoy back in April. What a pleasant respit from the hustle of Berlin. Wonderful old world charm. Alittle confusing on the parking. Probably my newness to europe Given room 609 suite on top floor. WOW. Comfortable room two twins jambed together to make a king. It's a europe thing. Refrigerator stocked with beer and soda. Does have A.C. but not real efficient. If We travel to another city with Savoy I will be booking there. Also has a trouser press if needed.
I got a very spacious 3 bed room facing the street. We needed to have the windows open due to the heat and no air condition. I like the old style of the hotel. The room was very clean and the staff in the reception was really helpful. You could however smell some smoke from the cigar bar at the ground floor. Easy access to s-bahn, u-bahn and buses.
Lovely and charming, but not modern or updated. Smells like cigar smoke in many areas of hotel, including my room on arrival. Air conditioning in very few rooms- mine had it, but it was weak and not very effective. Luckily, it wasnt that warm but most nights it was uncomfortably humid and muggy in my room. Excellent attentive staff, wonderful breakfast. Apparently the restaurant is excellent for lunch and dinner too.
Just a few steps from famous KuDamm 100 m from train station Quiet street No Aircon, so must keep windows open Old fashion hotel Polite staff Fast check in but why for God sake charge of 50E/night as so called insurance, totally unnecessary Room dated bud excellent kept and with all the ammenities Bathroom immaculate Excellent sleep despite annoying noise from train station Highly recommend to everyone If in Berlin will return for sure
It's too hot at summer it's not very pleasant. Oh and even if you choose a double room, you get 2 single beds next to each other. So with the bed configuration plus the heat, forget about cuddling. Don't get this hotel in the summer.
The staff is very attentive. I love being close to both the Tiergarten and to Ku'Damm. It is easy to get to all my appointments and there are many good restaurants in walking distance. The smoke from the Cigar Bar can be off putting when it bleeds into the lobby.
I have been going here for a number of years and I have always found the staff to be very helpful including the staff at the cigar bar and the restaurant. The location, between and U and S bahn stop and near many very good restaurants is great. I like that this has the feel of an older more established hotel. The food served, both at the breakfast and in the restaurant in evening is very good.
This is an old hotel and only the high end rooms have aircon. If you are in a front facing room opening the windows means hearing trains every few minutes which makes it impossible to sleep. Courtyard rooms are cooler and quieter, so such more pleasant temperature wise, but decor is dated. I would avoid during the summer months..
Savoy Hotel is in a terrific location and staffed with the friendliest employees you will meet in the industry. Worth calling out, one of the receptionists helped me when I had left some property behind and had it sent along, and another made a cup of tea to go when I had to run to a meeting
nice friendly staff, good location for where I was going, nice breakfast but no air conditioning in any room and very warm weather so impossible to sleep although a fan was provided on request but too noisy to use
