Staff very helpful , We spend our new year Eve in this hotel . Hotel location very near Christmas market which is great . My room is quite big compared with other hotel in Europe. They have free coffee and tea everyday which is a plus
I stayed here with my sister for 5 nights and we were delighted at how lovely the rooms were! We had a room at the end of the corridor so I’m not sure if that was why ours was quite big. Huge shower that was amazing and a really spacious area with the bed and TV. We also had a coffee machine with was topped up when the room was cleaned. Beds were comfy apart from the pillows were an awkward size which ended up giving me a sore neck but I couldn’t fault them otherwise! The hotel in general was very tidy and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner in the hotel. We also had a massage which cost €69 and it was worth it so I would definitely recommend if you go. The hotel is a short walk from the KaDeWe and various other shops, lovely restaurants nearby and Tiergarten. Couldn’t fault the hotel at all and I would definitely stay again if returning to Berlin and recommend to family and friends. Thank you for a great trip.
SANA was a great choice for hotel, it’s in a good place for transport wether that be train, car or walking. The staff spoke excellent English and the hotel breakfast is well worth the €15. Room was huge with very nice shower and decent loo. Only let down for hotel: we called at 10:30pm for room service (served apparently 24 hours) they said that room service was unavailable but reception rang and order us a pizza which was nice, would highly recommend to stay and we would happily come back again!
I was not sure about booking this hotel....but glad I did Great location Car park 20 a night Park on the isle street for free Good breakfast included Good wifi Large modern rooms Only issues 1. Beer in the bar expensive 2. Check in staff not helpful...arrived at 1pm to check in with disabled guest was to,d even though the rooms where ready to come back at 3pm 3. Came back at 3 parked at front door on Main Street to get disabled guest out and the check in staff thru a hissy fit and demanded I move car to side street as I did not want to pay 20 euro to use hotel car park and basically refused to give keys until the car was moved He was a pain in the xx 4. After 1st night asked reception for. Anti slip shower mat again for disabled guest and was told the hotel had none and I would have to buy one All the other staff in the hotel where great My suggestion...either employee reception staff with a personality and common sense or trained them But I would go back Great value hotel
My partner, 3 month old son and I arrived at the Sana Hotel at approximately 1pm which was a few hours before the usual check in time - but the staff were very understanding and accommodating and provided a room for us straight away. Each morning we had breakfast at the hotel which was wonderful - great selection of food and drinks - my partner grew very fond of making up bacon/brie croissants and I particularly liked the waffles, bacon and maple syrup. Well worth the money if it isn't already included but I'd definitely recommend getting the breakfast as part of your package! Every evening we used the gym/pool facilities and it was our son's first swim :) The setting was perfect - on the 7th (top) floor of the hotel and looked very luxurious - only negative was the pool was a little cold and we felt if slightly warmer our son would have taken better to it. The rooms are great! Modern, cosy and clean. Our room didn't have a bath which was a little disappointing but the amazing shower and room layout made up for it. The staff were more than happy to help - we called down to reception to get an extra bath robe/slippers and they came up straight away with a smile - the slippers are a little small though. Even the little things made a difference - at the main door of the hotel there are two buckets with large golf-like umbrellas which was a fantastic help on the rainy days. They didn't look cheap either which made me want to use them as well! And to top it off, there's a shoe buffer on an electric belt you can use to shine your shoes before a night out! Location is perfect - about a 7min walk to Ka de We. We even had a beautiful walk to the Brandenburg Gate via the Victory Column and only took an hour or so. Also near the U-Bahn so easy to get to everywhere fast.
Stayed there for 4 nights while visiting Berlin. We had two rooms that shared a connecting door and was one of the few reasonable hotels that would accommodate a family. The location was great (100 yards from the U-Bahn) so you could get to anywhere in the city in reasonable time. Minor complaints were 1) the bathroom could have been cleaner and the shower was in a raised tub that was difficult to get in and out of easily especially for older folks. 2) There were not a lot of food options nearby. Hotel breakfast was not bad, but at 14 euro was a little over priced. Overall a recommended hotel.
Nice hotel in good location. Service is good and staff helpful. Lots of nice restaurants near and connection to any other places by subway excellent. KaDeWe very close, only about 10 minutes walk. I recommend this one.
Stayed on business for a full week in the SANA , and as a Portuguese that was a lovely surprise. A proper espresso in the room, as well as nice and clean accomodation. It's on short walk to the U-bahn that in a couple of stops put you in the center of Berlin. Although, the Bar service is very pour and limited...
Hotel architecture is designed beautifully, the lobby area is designed beautiful , the rooms even more so , the bathrooms are designed beautiful also with the glass walls allowing you to see straight through to the room and vise versa , a short walking distance is berlins main high street ! The staff are very friendly also ! I highly recommend
I stayed at the Sana for 4 nights (returned yesterday), with my 14 year old son and 2 older, adult children, We had adjoining rooms, both a decent size and one had a bath with shower and the other just a shower. We arrived in Berlin at 11am and although check-in is not until 3, the hotel stored our luggage and allowed us to check in about 2.30. The rooms are nice enough but the walls could do with a repaint - or a clean - as they are quite marked and dirty. On arrival the bathroom was stocked with various toiletries and there are bath robes and (kid size!) slippers available. I had a lie down for a quick nap and my 3 kids went up to the indoor pool, which was the main reason we booked this hotel. The kids said the water was absolutely freezing and they didn't go into it again! I woke up to a loud noise and there were 2 members of staff in the room checking the mini-bar was stocked! I was really startled and didn't think it very apt for them to be doing this and for them to carry on, even if they had not initially realised I was in the room. The 'wall' between the bathroom and bedroom is glass, although there is another door closing off the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. I found this rather odd and did not enjoy the lack of privacy. Maybe for an open-minded married couple this is fine, but for myself and my children, we found it uncomfortable. Two things badly let this hotel down; the house-keeping and the dining room staff. On our second night I had to go to reception to ask for toiletries and these had not been restocked in either of our bathrooms. The following night we returned to our rooms having been out all today to find that there were no towels in either bathroom and the beds had been stripped down, so no sheets or pillow cases. I had to go to reception to tell them this as the phone in our room did not work, so I was unable to call them. The man on reception said he would call house-keeping and send someone to our room. He came himself about 15 minutes later with towels. When I asked about sheets, he told me house-keeping had gone and he was just trying to help! A while later a member of house-keeping came to our room with pillow cases. I asked him about sheets and he disappeared and came back about 20 minutes later with sheets. This guy (early 20's) had the worst body odour I have ever had to smell in my life. I'm sorry to criticise someone on a personal level, but he actually smelt beyond vile. We opened all the windows when he left and I sprayed perfume everywhere. For someone representing the hotel and especially house-keeping, he should not have been allowed near any guest rooms. I was embarrassed for him and myself. When we went to use one of the bath towels, it was stained and dirty. I aksed the house-keeping boy to tell the manager I wanted to speak to him/her. No-one came, but 20 minutes later, room service appeared with a small platter of fruit and a bottle of water. As nice as this was, if I ask for a manager, I expect to see a manager. I did discuss the situation with the reception manager the following morning - and oddly enough, he told me he had heard about our situation. If that was the case, why did the manager on duty not have the courtesy to deal with us when I had asked to see someone? The beds however, are comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. Our room on the third floor, looked out over the courtyard garden, Quite nice to look at, but not so nice to be see the staff smoking garden right next door, in full view of the whole of the back of the hotel. I chose a 4* Excellence hotel as I work hard all year running my own business and as a single mum. When I go away, I do not want to make beds or get my own meals. Although I knew the breakfast buffet was self-service (we paid for bed and breakfast at time of booking), the dining staff are not really bothered about you! One waiter spent 10 minutes standing talking to the table behind us with a jug of orange jiuce in one hand and a coffee pot in another) and then went and spoke to another table next to us for 10 minutes. Don't bother waiting for them to serve you a drink as you will be finished eating long before and will die of thirst. The staff will do almost everything in the dining room to avoid catching your eye and serving you. One day we asked the waitress if there were any chocolate croissant pastries but she told us they were not on the menu that day. Less than 5 minutes later, a whole platter of them was brought out... Breakfast is supposed to be available until 10.30, but they are quite happy to start clearing the dining room up from 9.30. On our first morning at breakfast, we asked for orange juice but were told they had run out. This was at 9.20am! With a fairly large selection of hotels in Berlin, I would not stay here again and do not believe that it is worth the Excellence rating. The lack of service does not make it value for money. Shame
