Hard to believe this is a hostel I've stayed in worse 5 star hotels. The location is perfect and it really has a hotel feel to it! Location in the heart of Kreuzberg and Friedichshein two of the best areas in Berlin all the best night clubs are within 20 minute walk of this hostel!
One of the best hostels I've stayed in, it even looks more like a hotel. Stayed in a 4 female dorm where the room was a lovely big size with comfy beds and big bathroom. The location is also perfect with club matrix a 2 minute walk away.
Pros: -Private room was spacious, and the entire property is rather large -- felt like a combination of a hotel and small boarding school -Good location, although there was some work being done near the train station that limited some of the routes -Decent bar area; nothing outrageous, but there was a bit of a party going and beers were reasonably priced -Numerous washer/dryer setup Cons: -Breakfast was extra $ and rather underwhelming -- was disappointed in their offering Other Comments: -Staff was neither great nor horrible -- did not have any problem with them, but were particularly nice either -Wi-Fi was spotty the first night, but worked fine after that I certainly would not have a problem staying here again, but would consider another option just to check out another location. This location isn't bad, but it's nothing special either.
Stayed here for a couple of nights in August as a group of 26. The place is huge, but pretty well signposted so even staggering around the corridors drunk at 3am I still had no trouble finding my room. The bar downstairs is lively & offers cheap drinks & a good selection of food at decent prices. Staff were friendly & helpful & overall I enjoyed my stay. The only negative was the heat. It was 28° when we arrived & the room was like a furnace. The air con basically just pushed the warm air around the room & made absolutely no difference to the temperature. The bathroom had no ventilation so was absolutely sweltering. Frodo Baggins could have launched the One Ring in there & saved himself the trek through Mordor. Obviously that's only an issue if you're staying during the summer months, if I'd been there longer than a couple of nights I'm not sure I could have coped with it.
Took my 10 year old grandson. Could not fault anything. Great location and the staff were hugely helpful. The room was clean and simple and the wee one had fun in the pool. The bar was lively at night and the food was cheap and tasty. We had great fun in Berlin
Booked a 4 bedroom hostel room (I am backpacking solo) and the room was like a hotel! Each had a single bed, cleaners come to the room everyday, free towels, large rooms, hairdryer in your huge ensuite bathroom. Place is massive. Wifi is good. Has a common room with fridges hot water etc to use, BBQ place, free pool. Takes over an hour to walk into the heart of the city though although public transport is right outside with your choice of buses, trams or buses.
I stayed as part of a contiki tour in August 2017. The hostel was great - I stayed in a 4x person share room and the beds were comfortable, pillow was one of the better ones I've slept on and the bathrooms were sizeable. Breakfast was included however there wasn't a huge selection (but this is to be expected in a hostel). My only complaint is that the bar isn't open throughout the day, but that's nothing that buying your own drinks can't fix.
Stayed here as part of my Contiki. Odd shaped rooms but it did the job. Great location with train station right out the front. Staff very helpful as I received a bite during the day and gave me reliable information to receive assistance. Bar had a great atmosphere and great prices. Best part was tone food we had for dinner and breakfast. Wouldn't recommend for families due to large number of Contiki and Topdeck tours there and night clubs on the road.
Staff is great and the district in which its located is very nice to visit, especially for partying (many clubs around) and you can find nice cafés close by. Easy to meet other people. Only thing is the swimming pool and sauna, they're not too clean (but honestly, we didn't expect them to be clean). I'd say highly recommended.
This is a pretty decent hostel. The wifi is free, it's a short walk to the East Side Gallery, and there is a club nearby if you are looking for nightlife activities. The problem is that it can get loud at night. Highly recommend you bring ear plugs if you plan on staying there.
