Novum Style Hotel Berlin-Centrum3.5 out of 5.0

Requested a quiet room upon booking, when we arrived were told that we were not in a quiet room. Staff were pretty cold to our face, but once we were through the glass elevator smiling, laughing and chatting with each other. Our iPhone was left by mistake in the room after we had checked out, and the hotel hasn't bothered to get in contact with us in regards to this missing item.
I stayed here last month with a group of friends as part of our Inter railing trip. The hotel itself was nice and staff were extremely helpful. Rooms were basic but very clean with good air-con. The downside to this hotel is that it is not very central (despite its name suggesting otherwise). You need to take metro's or trains to get to the main hustle and bustle of Berlin. Given the fact that we only stayed 2 nights in Berlin this was a bit of an issue as we felt it limited how much we were able to see particularly at night time when we were mindful of needing to get the metro/bus back to our hotel. We had a pleasant stay nonetheless but would definitely choose a more central hotel next time.
I stayed in the Novum Style with my fiance and it was really nice. It was very clean, quiet and modern. Only issue is the distance to public transport - Tiergarten station is nearly 15 minute walk away while the Ernst-Reuter Platz subway is nearly 10 minutes. The distance not so much an issue if you enjoy the walk but the hotel is mainly surrounded by businesses and car dealerships so it can be a bit quiet walking home at night. The hotel could rent out bikes? Overall the distance is a minor inconvenience rather than a big issue. Lovely hotel in a quiet area.
Cheap, great room, good location, amazing bathroom, nice staff - a lovely location! I was a bit worried as people were saying it was too far from everything but I didn't find this to be true - it's about a 10 min walk to Tiergarten station which is really convenient, and the 245 bus is also really good.
After a trek from the train station, we were pleasantly surprised by our room. Hotel was clean, modern and spacious with a beautiful bar and reception area. Rooms were clean and we had a problem with a broken bed which was dealt with promptly by staff. Excellent air con was a delight during the height of summer! The location of the hotel was poor and it was a fair walk to any of the metro stops. There are one or two restaurants near to the hotel.
The hotel was very well appointed and the room had everything we needed. We asked for more pillows and these were provided instantly. We didn't try the breakfast as we thought it was too pricey at 14 E each. The only faults with this hotel were that it was a long way from the centre and the bed wasn't comfortable. To get to the centre, the 245 bus stops around the corner and goes direct to the main station. However, it's quite a long trip (about 40 minutes to the station and then wherever you want to go from there). This too inconvenient for you to pop back to your room to change for evening. I wouldn't stay here again because of the location.
My friends and I stayed here during our short spell in Berlin. The rooms are very well equipped and clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The air con in the rooms was excellent for the warm days we spent here. Would definitely stay again. Only downside is it slightly out of town away from the hustle and bustle.
This hotel was extremely nice and very clean. Everything felt like it was brand new. It is 11 min from the airport about $15 by cab. The front desk called a cab for me and it was there in 5 min. The room was so nice and for the price could not be beat. I was able to walk to the U in about 10 min. From there I was able to access the city within 25 min. I will plan to stay here when I come back to Berlin in the near future . Can't say enough good stuff!
The location is okay but definitely isn't central and if you're coming by train to HBF you'll need to take the bus. The staff and room was nice and the hotel can therefore be recommended to visitors in Berlin as the price also was OK when booking a last minute offer.
Nice hotel, clean and bright. Room was a decent size. Was the first trip to Berlin for myself and my wife, didn't realise how far out the way this hotel is from the decent neighbourhoods for a night out. Takes a while to get into town. Got a nasty surprise on check out. Had booked this via the Hotels.com app, and neither there nor when we checked in was there any mention of a breakfast charge, until we left and they hit us with 60 euros!! Wont be returning, plenty more hotels in Berlin in better locations.
