Stayed here on recommendation from a previous resident and we were not disappointed. Hotel is in the Charlottenberg district which is in the West of the city on Knesebeckstraße and a “More upmarket” area. Within a few hundred metres of the hotel there are various restaurants and bars with Ernst-Reuter Plaz U Bahn(underground station)just at the end of the street connecting you to the excellent public transport system. Hotel is very clean, beautiful and large well equipped bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities with housekeeping every day. Excellent value for money hotel and a great choice for a stay in Berlin.

Very cozy place in a great location. The metro station is very close to the hotel (2-3 minutes). The staff was very kind and we really had a great time.if we ever visit berlin again we will definitely stay there.

Stayed here last year and the only reason i stayed here was because of the location which is the only good thing. The rooms are extremely tiny and no airconditioner which gets you quiet suffocated. They have a ridiculous procedure of carrying a piece of paper as proof that you are supposed to carry with you when you leave the hotel and if you dont have that then they give you grief .i agree that its a safety and security procedure but then the hotel should inform the guest about this at the time of check in. All in all chose this place only for the location

For the price we paid for this hotel, we were pretty pleased. It is out in the West of Berlin which can be a bit out of the way, but is about a 10 minute walk to main S and U Bahn stations. The service was bad. The employees at the front desk are unfriendly and short with you. Does make you feel quite bad when you have to interact with them. Aside from that, the rooms are great. For the cheapest rate, we got a huge room with super high ceilings, really comfortable beds and a very high quality bathroom. The rooms aren't very soundproof but we didn't have trouble sleeping during our stay.

The one thing that sets this hotel apart from the other mid range hotels here is the space and light. I booked the cheapest single on the site and was given a nice triple room out the back (#126) with 12’ ceilings, huge windows and a balcony. It was so peaceful and flooded with light. The room itself was pleasantly furnished and the renovated bathroom huge. The view from the balcony isn’t of significance, but it wasn’t overlooked and I didn’t even need to use the blackout curtains at night. The wifi signal is consistent, but not strong. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

This hotel was absolutely perfect for me and my friend who had never been to Berlin before the hotel staff were really friendly it was only a 10 minute walk to the bus/train station and had some really nice restaurants nearby. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were lovely to sleep on and the spot was quiet. Would definitely recommend if going on a short break to Berlin :)

We upgraded to a comfort twin, so one up from the standard. Room size was good. Clean and tidy. Downsides, we had a problem with lack of cold water which was quickly resolved. Tea bags weren't replaced which was a bit stingey. Noisy also, didn't get a good night's sleep. Cleaning trolleys are dragged accros the courtyard early in the morning. But good value for Berlin.

Important notice for all those who are interested in attending this hotel to enjoy the wonderful city of Berlin, we are a family who were housed in this attending this hotel, to enjoy the wonderful city of Berlin, at the end of July 2017. We made use of the safe of the room, went out in the morning to visit the city and returned to the hotel. In the evening the following morning when we were going to open the safe to take out cash and spend another day by the city, we realized that the safe (safety safety cannot be called) had been opened. We communicate to the manager of the hotel. The police came and we filed the corresponding complaint. The manager was distressed by events and lovingly offered us coffee and water the 600.-euros that were stolen from the safe, we don´t know anything. Two and a half months later, and after several emails sent to the hotel to see how the resolution of the theft was, we did not receive any reply. Again, more than two and a half months and not be reply, this shows the indifference, not to call it disability, of whom runs this hotel. We are ignored, the problem is not solved, but the worst of all is the passivity of the manger and rude because they have not answered yet, nor in favorable or unfavorable sense, they must think that we tire of insisting. We have no choice but to bring to the attention of all potential guests of the hotel have to be cared to go to there. Stolen, you are ignored and ignore the requests made, they will offer you a bottle of water and coffee. I can´t say anything more be careful with using safe, leave anything of value, for insignificant to be, because the manager of that establishment will not act to solve the problem. Again, I don´t recommend this hotel because one knows with what comes, but not with what comes out. NOVUM HOTEL GATES BE CHARLOTTENBURG is a site that cannot be recommended because thefts that occur in it, you will have to assume them.

The hotel overall is not bad. It is inexpensive, mostly clean and for staying some nights if you aren't looking for any perks, it is worth it, especially for the cheap price. But the service turned me away. I had booked two seperate bookings in the same room type. When I first checked in, they had to put me in a different room type (with 3 seperate beds). I didn't mind and it was more spacious. There was a mistake on the booking which had me checking in a day early, but nothing was to be done for that, and as it was my own fault I didn't mind losing a night. It would have been nice had they shifted the nights, but I understood why they would not do so. Then came today when my 2nd booking came active, and the lady at reception said I would have to move rooms (because they put me in a room with 3 beds in it). I told her I had no problem moving and asked which room I could move into. She said that check-in is not until 2pm so I can not move to another room. I asked if there was any way to change that as I was just moving rooms and she was adamant. I asked if I could keep my things in the room and move later than, and she said "no, check-out is at 11am). I found it very bad service as I had booked the same room type the whole time. And not being able to move rooms, but to have to wrinkle all my clothes and repack and have to come back again later in the afternoon to check back in to the same hotel. And it was not during a time that things were packed and there is no room. I would not recommend it based on this idea of customer service alone. Otherwise, it's fine although very bland, but is what I would expect for the price range.

The location of the hotel is very good, it's hidden in one street very close to the Ernst-Reuter-Platz. This makes it very quiet because you can't hear the noise from the traffic. It is well connected with Tegel airport where we landed, direct bus line, very frequent and the ride is approximately 20 minutes. It also has the U-Bahn station very close so you can go pretty much anywhere in the city with ease. The U-Bahn also goes at night so you can very easy come back late to your room. The reception desk is open 24h and staff is very polite. Also their English is very good. We stayed in double bedroom. It was oriented toward the courtyard of the hotel. It was the size of small apartment, that really amazed us. Enough space to put all your things. The furniture looked pretty new. The wifi signal was excellent and free. Also the safe deposit box is inside the room and also free of charge. The cleaning is regular and we got clean towels every day. The breakfast buffet is very good. All kinds of food ranging from fruit, muesli, salads, croissants, salami, sausages, all kinds of eggs. There is also good choice of juices, tee and coffee. Minor things that bothered us: The hair dryer in the bathroom blew the air very slow, so if you don't wan't to wait forever make sure you bring your own. The courtyard is paved with bricks so we could hear a loud noice whenever somebody rolled the trash bins through the yard.
