Been a great trip to Berlin so far, the hotel is centrally located, close to many things in Berlin not too far from Alexanderplatz and other things. I got a taxi from Berlin Schönefeld airport which was relatively cheap. Staff at the hotel were really friendly upon check in and throughout my stay which ends tomorrow. It is not too expensive in relation to other big European cities it is very cheap and I would highly recommend it. The reason I chose it was it’s central location to the New Years party at the funkhaus I attended and to the central location to tourist attractions for the rest of my time in Berlin.
Great location, only 3 stops with the tram or bus, to the most popular square, Alexandreplaz. Very big rooms, quiet location. They could use some more amenities such as tea and coffee facilities in the room, since the breakfast is extremely expensive, specially if you are a famimy of 4. 25 euros per person is too much, they should give you a choice to choose only part of it, al cart. Very friendly staff, and beautiful design, as always at an NH !
The NH Berlin Alexanderplatz was a great hotel to stay in. Prices were reasonable for this 4-star hotel. Breakfast was outstanding. Service was excellent from all the staff. We had a room on the 6th floor but no problems reaching the room.
When you see a hotel called NH Alexanderplatz, you expect it to be somewhere near the location of the place it is named after. This was not the case with this hotel, which is 1 mile or 1.8 km away from the square it is named after. It is a bit like booking a hotel called NH Buckingham Palace, and staying at the Vauxhall Bridge, not the best of situations. When you add to that a husband with mobility issues and mostly using a wheelchair to get around, it starts to become very inconvenient. Yes it is only 3 stops on the tram, but you still have to get to the tram, wait for the tram, you can't run for the tram if you see one approaching......you have to think very carefully about coming back to the hotel to warm up or rest, as it can add up to an hour to a break (walk to tram, wait for tram, get tram, walk from tram back to hotel and then do it in reverse, you get the picture). Add to that the attitude from British Airways Holidays who basically said "tough, you should have read the description more carefully" we felt very let down. Yes, maybe we should have done our research more carefully, and if the hotel had been called something else, we may have done, but it was called NH Alexanderplatz....... If you add to that the fact that we could not see ANYTHING in the local area, just one Chinese restaurant. No bars, no coffee shops, nowhere to get breakfast, you really are stuck. I believe they know this, as they charge EUR 24.00 per person for a buffet breakfast, high price by any standards, and there is no sign anywhere on the way into the restaurant to tell you how much it will be. Yes the service was good, the staff pleasant, the rooms clean and warm, the bar prices ok for a hotel of this type, but I would never stay here again, as I believe they deliberately mislead people with their name
A sensibly priced, smart and well run hotel. There was little to criticise about the four day experience, other than concluding that the breakfast was too expensive for this type of hotel. The staff were helpful, particularly as to using the transport system. The rooms were clean, smart and comfortable. The hotel was in the Eastern part and was a ten minute tram ride from Alexanderplatz- a central point in Berlin. There were three tramlines that could be caught from there.
My friend recommended this hotel as it is close to the Velodrome where I was going to see Jamiroquai. I arrived before the 3:00pm check-in time, but they had a room available for me anyway. The room was large with a big comfortable bed. The mini bar had wine, which was a plus. Just the fact that they had a stocked mini bar was huge. The best thing about the room were the wall to wall windows, which directly overlooked a beautiful park. After the concert I was quite energized and was quite happy to learn that the hotel bar closed at 1:00 am. I look forward to returning to Berlin in the summer and will definitely stay at NH Berlin Alexanderplatz
The hotel is very nice. Comfortable rooms with comfortable beds. The only thing that missing is balcony but if weather is cold, balcony is not needed anyway. Also, there are so many things to do in Berlin rather than to sit on hotel’s balcony :) There is a great choice of food for breakfast. There are something for anybody. Staff is very polite and helpful. They offer rent of bicycles for 12 eur per day. Location is near city center but still not so close. If you like to explore it, I strongly recommend to rent a bicycle, to be flexible and explore easily city center. It is about 20 minutes walking from Alexanderplatz. I have a very nice stay there and can recommend.
The bedroom itself was good. But the hallways were very long to reach the rooms... I liked mini bar. The view was directly on other buildings but it was very quiet. The chekout was a bit long. The restaurant wasn't very good.
A rather nice mid size hotel, however out a bit farther from the city. While you could walk to Alexanderplatz from, it would take a good half hour and not much to see on the stroll. However the tram/trolly is conveniently located down a block, you need exact coins to get a ticket or day pass on the trolley itself. The hotel itself is well put together modern place. Our room was clean and quite comfortable
Don't trust the name! The hotel is at least 25 minutes walk from Alexanderplatz, although there are trams to get you there in 15 mins, it's not the same... The room was spotlessly clean, but was not as up to date as I've experienced in other NH hotels. The room had loads of space, but zero character or anything else to fill it. Also, there were no USB charging points, which I take for granted in this class of hotel nowadays.
