Very good location (close to S+U), cosy bar/restaurant with delicious traditional tastes and spirits, very good breakfast, quick check-in/check-out, decent room with comfortable bed and desk, firendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is extremely well located next to Tram and subway (U-Bahn), has a friendly professional check in. The breakfast is nice buffet style. Since the hotel is stepwise renovated it appears not possible to select between the renovated and not yet renovated part since several months during internet reservation. The webpage is also not very easy to handle.
Two of us stayed September 2016 for 3 nights in a "Privilege King Room". It was a good size, had lots of space and light. We were a few floors up yet never heard a thing in the corridors or from outside; a very quiet, enjoyable stay, whilst we did the tourist cultural things. All staff we encountered and spoke with were friendly and at least bilingual. They were happy to hold our bags as we arrived several hours early; after we had popped out for a bite to eat they let us check in early at no extra cost. Wifi was free and fast as advertised. Would recommend and would stay again.
Easy access to the garage marked the beginning of a great stay. We'd made an online check-in and got our room at 12 o'cock when we arrived. Big room, fine sized bathroom, good bed. Really nice. And both coffee and tee and to-go too. Only a fifteen minutes walk from the centre of Mitte. Close to Friedrichsstrasse.
Rooms was modern and clean. Couldn't get air con to work properly but not a problem as it wasn't too hot. Location good to get to all tourist spots. Staff were very helpful and polite. We went to a brilliant Vietnamese Restaurant just round corner from hotel called Co Chu. Food very reasonable for Berlin. Nice hotel in a good location.
Everything was very good, with the breakfast and service excellent. However, no fridge and smaller room make it somewhat incovenient. What can I say? We have stayed. Before, whiiichh is the main reason we came, and it was close to the railway station.
Room was modern, very clean and well equipped. Aircon was not working properly and one side of the bed appeared to have collapsed slightly - so a bit uncomfortable! Nice surprise was the complimentary mini bar! WiFi not so good and unsecured which was a shame. On check-in on 13/9 late at night first impressions of staff was not good - staff member appeared rude and was not interested in answering questions. Being Accor members we thought this was not good enough. Staff during the rest of stay very helpful. Lovely bar to have a casual drink - waitress was lovely. We loved our stay in Berlin despite a few little let downs.
An ideal base for a first visit to Berlin: close to the main railway station (and shuttle bus from Tegel airport) and with a U-Bahn station and tram stop less than 50m away. A warm and friendly welcome, a medium-sized but adequate room, great buffet breakfast: all in all a positive experience and typical of the Mercure chain.
We flew into Tegel airport late and grabbed a taxi that cost €22 which I thought was a decent price. Our room was a standard Mercure size and a similar layout, with the exception of the bathroom, which had a window into the bedroom and no blind, so you need to be comfortable with your roommate (although our friends did have a blind in their room). We liked the bar at the hotel, although it wasn't that cheap and there are plenty of bars in Berlin to choose from! The staff were all friendly and breakfast was very good - we had managed to get breakfast for about £5pp per day included with our room rate. Unfortunately our Monday morning lie in was disturbed by refurbishments that started early. Also, for some unknown reason our room wasn't cleaned on Sunday, although as we were only staying two nights that really wasn't a major problem. The hotel is well located, within walking distance of several key areas and the underground is also at the end of the street. This Mercure is good, but you are spoilt for choice of hotels in Berlin, so unless this hotel is offering you an amazing rate, or it's very close to where you want to be, I would prefer to stay elsewhere.
Basic rooms and quite small but the beds where comfortable. Close to a subway stop. Two single beds pushed together like most in Europe. Weak shower head. Was not noisy even though it was on a main road. Tv had english speaking channels. Always a plus.
