Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz

We are giving the Leonardo hotel a five star review because they truly deserve it. Reseption staff increably helpful, bearing in my my husband and I speak NO German. The room was very clean with two windows. It's was cleaned everyday. And the bar downstairs is excellent. Staff in there really attentive and again spoke some English. The bar area is so cool. Really relaxing good music and three large TV screens. The restaurant menu is ok. A tad limited but again the food is excellent. The staff again were brilliant, so friendly and helpful. Well done to everyone at the Leonardo. The one thing I will agree with the last review is the dismal depressing location of the hotel. And I wouldn't go out alone after dark where it is. Having said that Berlin is undergoing a major re vamp and these parts of the city are being developed. Thanks again Leonardo 😀

Although my two-week stay was not entirely pleasant, I am encouraged to see, from reviews, here, that there has been a significant staff upgrade since October, when some overnight front desk staff were rude in the extreme. I suspect, too, that housekeeping has become more consistent.

This hotel is excellent with Alexanderplatz a 5-10 minute walk away. We came here to celebrate my partners birthday and the hotel couldn't have done enough to make it special! We got a free room upgrade, champagne, cakes and fruit all for free! We really enjoyed the hotel bar and the cocktails were very good. We had breakfast on our last day and we really enjoyed it, with lots of variety. I would defiantly stay at this hotel again.

We had an excellent three night stay here. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we had a lovely room, it was on the church side of the hotel so apart from the church bells (we didn't mind these) it was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The concierge was really helpful, giving us directions and advising us which tickets to buy. Breakfast was excellent, huge choice. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant, there is a little Vietnamese restaurant just along the road, which doesn't look much but the food was delicious.

It si probably one of the best hotel I have ever been!!All the hotel it’s perfectly clean and the rooms are spotless!! The Staff is very professional ang helpfull. A special thank you to Chiara who is the tours adviser near the bar who made the difference during our holiday. She was so helpfull, gentle and professional!! I really recommend this Hotel!!

We got an early check in and anice room on the 6 floor. The room was not very big but nice. breakfast is vety good with impressive selection and good coffee. friendly crew. Its actually 10 minutes walking from Alexanderplatz station from there you can practicaly travel anywhere. We stayed previously at another hotel from Leoardo chain in berlin and it was good. Happy to say that the "Royal" maintaining the reputation and does it well!

Myself and my wife spent 2 nights here on a City Break. First the negatives- Our intitial impressions were a bit mixed as the hotel is huge and a bit away from all the attractions, so not much of a view from any of the rooms. The only English Channel we could get in the room was the American channel CNN, which was frustrating. The Bathroom is small, which we expected more for a Junior Suite! However , these are minor gripes really. We booked a Junior Suite and it was very spacious , comfortable and clean! In fact the cleanliness of the hotel overall is first class. The service was great. Breakfast was fantastic (well worth including with your booking). The location is a bit away from all the popular attractions but there is a tram station right outside the hotel which arrive every few minutes, which then makes everything else very accessible- Alexanderplatz for example where you can then get trains and tubes to all ends of the City. For the price we would definitely return here when visiting Berlin!

I recently stayed in the Royal Leonardo Alexanderplatz for 3 nights. Location: As others have said the location is 2 tram stops from Alexanderplatz. We bought the Welcome Card on arrival for 4 days. I know this works out a bit more expensive than buying daily tickets but personally found it more convenient. The ABC card also covered our train from and to the airport. Travelling from Airport: This is quite easy. Exit arrivals left, check the screens for trains RE7 or RB14. Purchase ticket in machine and validate in red machine before boarding. We already had the welcome cards purchased in arrivals. Once at Alexanderplatz station exit by TK Maxx and take the tram on the TK Maxx side of the road. You will pass the hotel on your right and hop off at the stop Am Friedrichshain Food & Drinks: The 2 for 1 cocktails at happy hour 5-7pm are great and there was plenty of choice at the breakfast between cereals, pastries, fruit, breads and hot food. I didn’t have dinner at the restaurant but highly recommend Las Malvinas steakhouse beside the hotel. Room: I booked the classic room which had plenty of space and also a place to lay your suitcase, a good size wardrobe. Just to note the double bed is 2 single beds pushed together. Usually this is fine if made up as one but these also had single sheets and separate duvets with a sizeable gap. The room was cleaned daily. As mentioned by another reviewer, staff do tend to just walk in immediately after a very short knock so if you’re planning on sleeping past 9:30am pop a sign on the door Service: The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke perfect English. They also stored our luggage after check out on the last day. There is reference to church bells in many posts, I did hear them briefly a few times throughout the day but didn’t find them particularly loud or bothersome. In summary for the sake of being 2 stops out of Alexanderplatz, I feel it is well worth the value of staying in this hotel but room set up may be off putting for some.

Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in the Leonardo Royal. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is spotless. Breakfast was ample with a good choice of hot or cold food to set you up for the day. The location is ideal with easy links to all the major attractions across the city and is only about 8 minutes walk to the centre of Alex. The bar area is very relaxed and a big thanks to Memmet for creating some very tasty cocktails. I would definitely return to this hotel. R&R
