Stayed at this hostel for 5 nights as a solo traveler. A very good place to stay. Well connected with bus and metro service. The bus service, especially, is at a 1-2 minutest walk from the hostel. A quiet decent location in the very city center. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms and washrooms. The staff, in particular, are polite, courteous and helpful. Suitable for both solo traveler and families. Would definitely stay again. There is one downside: the hostel does not provide kitchen facilities to those who wish to cook/heat their food. A good no. of traveler are on budget and it would be good if the hostel provide this facility to them.
The hostel has a good location; about 10 minutes from the nearest U1 line, five minutes to Tiergarten park and 15-20min from Potsdamer Platz. PROS: - clean bathrooms - hot water in the showers even at 3am - big rooms - location - breakfast CONS: - most guests are preteens that run around the hostel wild, scream and do what youngsters do. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear everything that is going on in the room next door. It's no really bothering during the day, but at 6:30 in the morning, it is. They were blasting Kanye and doing god knows what, screaming their lungs out. So.. get your ear plugs. - if there are many people connected to the WiFi, chances are you won't be able to use it.
The service is really good and they have a professional staff. It is a good choice for conferences or group trips of under aged people. The rooms are clean and well maintained but a bit old (with a lack of plugs: eg. in a room for 6 or 7 only 2 plugs) Is good located in a safe area and well connected with the public transportation web.
The hostel was amazing: we had great e-mail contact beforehand, it was easily accessible, the staff was friendly and actually liked their job. The room was clean and big lockers were installed for each guest. The breakfast buffet was great! (and included in the price ;))
Old-fashioned building and unsociable environment. My room was cold (I would provide more blankets and make sure that the heater is on before guests check in) and there weren't enough plugs to charge phones and laptops. However, the staff was very helpful and I would recommend this hostel for school trips. Breakfast is decent and they also do a dinner buffet for only 7.50 euros, but the quality of the food is not the best..
Massive old school created into an awful so called "Hostel ". Unfriendly staff upon arrival, the bedding in the room was old & smelly. The room was soo hot, no aircon with these huge windows which you couldn't open for your own safety as someone could nearly climb in!! If traveling alone don't stay here! Nothing around it to experience, no atmosphere& not for socialising in! The breakfast is average as well that has to be included in your stay!!
We stayed in a room with 2 double deck. The toilet and bathroom was common. It was well-maintained and clean. Breakfast was sufficient and since our next trip was early morning they gave us packed bread, fruits and drinks. Staffs were very helpful and accommodating. Location is just right.
No doubt for me to give five star for this place. With price offered, it is super. Do not compare with US's hostel. You might hear schoolies around because they use this place a lot. But if you close your window, you wouldn't hear it. The bed is thin, but works well. German doesn't believe with AC and you wouldn't find it any. In really have pleasant 3 nights experience. Tips: bring your own towel and soap
This hostel wasn't my first choice for a private room, but for the price I couldn't say no. My room was basic but clean and modern as befits HI. Now I know this is a youth hostel, and caters mainly to youths, but I still thought it was a little noisy a little too late. There is a large courtyard in the back of the building, often with kids singing, playing guitar, seeing who has the loudest mp3 player... as kids do in a youth hostel. I wouldn't have enjoyed the dorm areas of the building with kids screaming and yelling and running up and down the halls all evening, but hey- I'm old. Internet was slow but free. The area is quiet and mellow for being so central. I'd consider this place again.
the cleanses of place was very good and TV room was extermly good also breakfast was fine , services was good and also caring staff , there was a bus stop just around corner which can get you to city by number 29 , this bus drop you off next to check point charlie , easy access to airport via public transport too
