I visited Berlin with a tour group and the hotel was picked for us. That being said it was a quaint hotel. Talking with my friends no two rooms were alike. I believe I had the smallest bathroom in the hotel. Big enough to have a shower, sink and toilet. Not much additional room. No A/C, had to open the double windows to cool down the room. Room has fridge, tv, dresser, with small table and chair. Bed was comfortable with one pillow. The hotel has an extensive breakfast buffet and the staff was wonderful. The same can be said for the front desk. Overall, great staff, comfortable bed, and great breakfast buffet. The Pros outweighed the few cons. I would stay here again.
Very nice room (4 persons), bathroom excellent (2 washing tables, shower and seperate bathtub), breakfeast was very good (lot of choices in fruit, bread, drinks, yoghurt). WIFI is not for free (sometimes it was 2€ for 24h, 2€ for 3 days and sometimes we got it for free). Everytime you disconnected with the wifi (for example left the building) you have to re-enter the wifi password. Also forgot my Lush creme in the frigo after check-out, went back and the staff 'did not find it in the fridge where I left it'... Small elevator, and when it was crowded, there was no room for having breakfast (all of the tables were taken quickly). Nieghbourhood not that great (every night locals kept asking to buy drugs from them). Hotel is near the busstation and metrostation( less than 10min).
The receptionist was so welcoming (like everyone in Berlin). The room was warm even in late December. I booked a last-minute single room at a great price and was lucky to find that I'd been given a double bed anyway. Shower was small but great pressure, clean white towels provided. The hotel is close to an underground station so commuting is easy. No complaints at all.
In an older rustic building with high ceilings and big rooms. My graffitti room was huge with painted walls and cool chairs. A bit of traffic noise, but no to bad. Breakfast and service is very good in this small and well located hotel
I can only give you my best "recomandé", here in Hotel Tiergarten Berlin to stay! - I have just spend my 8th stay here (Nov. 2016). - All is perfect! - The rooms, the GREAT Morning-Buffet, and an excellent service of ALL the staff. - You will meet a lovely German atmosphere! - Look forward to my 9th stay! - Kim Frank - Helsinge, Denmark - :O)
Old fasioned in a good way. Have not seen such hotel anywhere else. Its like movies for the second worldwar time. Staff very friendly and supportive. No questions were remained unanswered. If u need restaurants nearby or address just ask them. Internet and breakfast was nice too
Hotel Staff very friendly, our room was on the small size but very clean and had all we needed for our stay, excellent breakfast with lots of choice, good location for underground railway and restaurants a five minute walk away, would stay again and recommend to others.
The hotel is ok, the staff is certainly very friendly and the breakfast is great. I had a room on the second floor right next to the elevator. The elevator pretty much was part of my room (room build around it). The elevator however is really loud and people use it all day & night. The doors slam and the tiny unstable elevator also slams pipes and is very loud when moving. I barely slept the two nights I stayed. The room itself was fine, simple but good enough. The bed was rather small even though it was a 2 person room I would not prefer to sleep with someone else in that bed. I wouldn't really recommend this hotel, since it is so plain and noisy. There must be nicer hotels for the same price.
I stayed at Hotel Tiergarten for 1 night with a friend. The room was clean and spacious with high ceilings and lots of character. It is both walking distance from the bus stop so getting to and from the hotel was a breeze. Staff at reception were lovely and very helpful. We didn't have the buffet breakfast but there are a lot of bakeries and restaurants nearby. Wifi was great. Only thing was that there was no A/C and our room was stuffy and we were reluctant to sleep with the window open as we were on the first floor (easy access to ground level).
From the professionalism and friendliness of the staff to the simply sumptuous breakfasts this hotel is highly recommended. The district the hotel is in is well served by the nearbt S bahn and buses run to the city centre every 5 minutes. I found the WI- Fi more than adequate, the room I stayed in was exceptionally large for a hotel in this price range. Try to get a room overlooking the court yard to avoid the traffic noise from the busy frontage road. Don't hesitate. stay here and you will not be disappointed.
