Stayed for 4 nights during a business trip, fantastic location, great breakfast and selection, very clean rooms. Although the night time reception staff seemed very rude and unhelpful when I had some requests, all catering staff were excellent along with the super efficient bar tenders who was polite and very helpful and want to ensure mine and other peoples time at the bar was comfortable and enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel for a business trip and would stay here again.
Wonderful central location, which is why we chose it. We had an "apartment" which included a kitchen and dining area, which was great, better if we had known and could have brought things, which since we arrived late on 31st of December was not possible. The hotel is nice enough but a little dated, in places, the room was clean an large with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. I have 2 criticisms; There were 2/3 slight changes in floor levels, in the doorways, these present a trip hazard and are irritating. The bathroom, which was nice and I guess not long renovated, has the shower head located in the middle of the bath. This means that the bathroom gets very wet even though great care was taken.
Stayed here over the new year in a huge room on the 15th floor. Had a fantastic view of the city and could easily walk to most places in Berlin. Bus stop literally right outside and the main bus station is a 10min walk. Great location, lovely rooms and the staff are very helpful. FULL FIVE STARS!
We absolutely loved this place. The staff is very friendly and was attentive to our needs and requests. We got a superior double room with amazing spaces and cozy atmosphere which was also super clean and neat. It's very quiet so it's ideal for those of you who appreciate peace and quiet during your stay. Regarding the location, it's very close to must-sees and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel room. Bus 100 runs every 3-4' on working days and it will take you to Brandenburg Gate, the Column of Victory and other nearby sightseeing sites. A variety of restaurants and pubs are around the distance from the zoo and KaDeWe shopping mall is a 10-minute walk. Strongly recommended!
Nice hotel with all you'd need for a few days in the city.. cleaned everyday and comfy beds. Quiter rooms are at the back of the hotel but do face another building block but not a problem. Bathroom could do with a modernize but everything was functional and clean.
Loved this place. Would definitely stay there again. Very central near to Zoo station. Warm and cozy rooms. Amazing breakfast. Such good value st €11. Staff were very helpful. They recommended the Italian across the road for dinner. Excellent choice. The weather was icy cold last week when we were there. It was lovely coming back to our hotel which felt so warm and welcoming. Thank you. Xx
The hotel is nice and the service as well. The breakfast is rich and it includes light products for people on diet or have diabetes. It’s located near ‘West Berlin ‘ center. The rooms are fine but no refrigerator in them...
Right on the S-Bahn, getting around the city couldn't be easier. The M29 and M100 will get you to most places and they are steps from the front door. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are large, nicely furnished and clean. Our room was in the back of the hotel and was very quiet. We slept well during our week long visit. The breakfast buffet has a large selection from sausage, to liverwurst, to pastries to eggs and the most delicious bread.
On my first trip to Berlin I took the advice of a friend who has been to Berlin many times and stayed at Hotel Sylter Hof. It's out of the crowded and overtouristed city center, but I found in easy to get just about anywhere I wanted to go by the excellent Berlin bus service. The hotel is a four minute walk to the U-Bahn stop at Wittenbergerplatz. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly. The breakfast is good and probably the same as one would find at any business hotel in Europe. The only complaint would be the wifi system which appears to be in need of an upgrade. All in all, I would stay at Hotel Sylter Hof for future stays because of a location that has many good, reasonably fine restaurants within a short walk, great staff, and all the basics.
We stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Berlin and had a great stay. All the staff we encountered were really friendly and helpful. The room we had was nicely decorated and you got a free bottle of water and packets of haribo on arrival. The room wasn’t massive but certainly big enough for 2 people. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was quite large with a full bath and shower over the bath. There is a hairdryer in there as well. There is a free safe in the wardrobe. The location of the hotel is great, a short walk to the S & U Bahn and lots of restaurant and bars locally. The zoo is at the top of the road. The public transport is really easy to use and you can get to everywhere you would want to. We bought the Berlin Welcome Card before we arrived in Berlin which is good value and allows you to travel on buses, trains and trams with it. We didn’t eat in the hotel but we did use the bar which was very reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive. The hotel has a luggage room which you can use to leave bags if you are not leaving till later in the day. I would happily stay here again.
