I have stayed at many hotels in Berlin and this was definitely one of the best. The beds were very good and it was very silent, did not hear anything from the traffic. The breakfast was lovely. In general, very good service.
So, my wife, toddler and myself stayed at the Hotel Palace Berlin for 3 nights. It is a very nice hotel with excellent service and a very friendly staff. However, I notified the hotel prior to my visit to ensure the room was thoroughly cleaned, including all the linens and covers due to allergies. As far as I could tell, the room was cleaned well and all the linen was fresh. It wasn’t until my son dropped a toy on the floor and as I reach under the bed to get it, I found a dirty sock from the previous customer. It wasn’t hidden or difficult to see, so apparently when they cleaned, they skipped under the bed and after looking around, they skipped under most furniture. Other than that disgusting find, the hotel was pretty good.
My favorite 5star Hotel in Berlin since many years. Agai and again the same personal service in the center of the City West. Great breakfast, good location and good value for money. My second home in the capital.
I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for three nights at the end of March. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive; we were able to check into our room four hours earlier than we should have, and the room itself was wonderful. We had booked the cheapest room available and it had the biggest bed i've ever slept in, and it was overall very clean, well furnished and comfortable. Every time we entered or left the hotel we had the door opened for us and were greeted by the doorman/woman, and the man who looks after the swimming pool area was very lovely- we even got given little complementary glasses of juice every time we went to the pool! The hotel has a turn down service and when we arrived back to our room on our first night, a chocolate had been left on our pillow! The hotel is across the road from the Berlin Zoo (which, on a separate note, i would NOT recommend), but it is also close to a lot of high street shops, the station which can take you directly to Schoenefeld airport, and bus stops which are one journey from the Bundestag, Brandenburg Gate, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the TV Tower. This hotel really gives you the 5* treatment and I didn't have a bad word to say about it.
Before I comment on the hotel, I want to deliver a rant on European hotels from an American point of view. What's the deal with the glass shower curtain that is so short that it guarantees you will flood the bathroom floor? What's the aversion to anti-slip tub floors? Do you all just bathe, and not shower? This is a very nice hotel that is 50 years old. It's not 5 stars just based on the property and amenities, but combined with what I paid, which was very reasonable (except for breakfast, which they soak you for, in the European tradition), it is 5 stars. I'll stay here again. The people working there are wonderful. Friendly, even lively, and energetic. Seems like a good place to work. It makes all the difference. The food is also excellent. Good location, right near the Zoo. Nice rooms, good beds. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
I spent four nights here. The first two were ruined as the a.c. just made the room hot, too hot to sleep. This was then fixed, and the room was quiet and a decent nights sleep could be had. The valet parking is good bit expensive, and the breakfast was average and expensive (just three basic cereals to choose from if you want cereal - lots of other things to pick from thankfully). Lots to do and see locally, and the internet was good. Nice deep bath in my room.
The hotel was excellent in every way from the friendly reception staff to the exceptional rooms and spa facilities. We were made very welcome upon every arrival and departure during our stay whilst exploring the sights of Berlin. I would go back without any hesitation even though most attractions are a 10minute bus ride away apart from the shops, KDW in particular worth a visit.
We genually enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palace Berlin. The stuff was kind and helpful, the breakfast buffet was excellent! The location of the hotel is perfect for those who loves shopping :) I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
We spent two nights at the Palace Berlin during Easter and where shocked by the terrible customer service at the hotel. We had several experiences, but here are the two most important. Problems starter during check-in. Not just did it take ages to check-in, we where also given a smoking room, though we where promised non-smoking. We had to argue with the receptionist before our room was finally changed. When checking, out the price we had been given when reserving over phone, was more than doubled. The invoice is broken down in bits and pieces, making it nearly impossible to understand what went wrong and where. After a long discussion, with a very loud receptionist, the invoice was reduced, but far from the price we where given when reserving (300€ more). The agreesive and loud additude just made is resign. We travel a lot but have rearly seen customer service as bad as The Palace Hotel in Berlin. We strongly advice fellow travellers to consider a different hotel.
I chose this hotel primarily for the location, near the shopping area and train station. I was planning to stay in Berlin three times (for four days) in one week. I was pleasantly surprised by almost everything! First of all we received an upgrade for our room, the junior suite was very well designed, very spacious and really nice. the staff were really friendly and polite. everything was nearly perfect. I had previously stayed in some of the best hotels in Berlin including Adlon, Hilton, Waldorf Astoria and both Steigenberger hotels and I can say with absolute certainty that hotel Palace Berlin offered the best value for money among these hotels. we are already looking forward to our next stay there tomorrow.
