Hotel Müggelsee Berlin4.0 out of 5.0

The Hotel itself is located next to the Mueggelsee in Berlin and is catering for those enjoying the lake or who have been asked to participate in a conference there. The hotel seems be build in the 70s, with some more renovations during time. For a 4 star premise, it is too much worn and smelly for my taste. Also it's one of the few places in Berlin which are really difficult to reach with public transport. Food (Dinner & Breakfast, both Buffet Style where ok) What is pretty nice though is the overall layout - with a mayor yard in the center and all rooms have a balcony.
The hotel is situated app. 32 km from the center of Berlin, in the middle of the city forest, at the bank of the big lake. The location is idealistic, you are just enough close and just enough away from the city. It is perfect for those, who wants to spend quite evenings after a full day of experience in the big city. Make sure you plan the visit for at least couple of days, rent a bike and just ride through the forest, it is just amazing. The rooms are clean and tidy, no complaints regarding their service. The things they should improve is definately the mini bar, there is none in the room, there is space in the closet, but no mini bar inside. Second, they should renew or demolish the buildings around the hotel, once it was probably the nobel resort, now the abandoned buildings do not show their formal glory. General opinion: the hotel has big potential, shame they do not take advantage of it.

We where very happy with the stay at Hotel Mueggelsee, and it was up to our expetation, and we will look at this hotel again for our next stay at Berlin. The rooms was very clean and have all the facilities that we was looking for. Good restaurant with nice service.
nice an clean room. good service. the pool is out - too cold to use. the lake have a very nice view. very quite . the free parking is quite far and the close cost money free wifi for short time in the lobby only. wifi in the room cost money breakfast is fair
I've spent one night in Mueggelsee after one week in Germany on business trip. The Hotel is located in the ancient East Germany area in a very nice site in the lake. The facilities are well treated and the staff is polite (although not very friendly). Breakfast is very well served. The hotel facilities include a spa, a fitness center and a bowling hall but I've didn't had the chance of seeing them. You get to the center of Berlin in a 15 minutes trip, by car, from the Hotel. Strong points: Site Landscape, Breakfast Weak points: no free wi-if, Staff should be more welcoming.
First and last time!!! Room was dirty- dog hairs on the floor a lot of dust. In bathroom water was dripping from the ceiling, we've got second room and there they have left ours dirty pampers on the table... It s no go!!!!
Hotel is OK, nothing amazing but clean and staff was overall friendly. food was so so, shower temperature fluctuate between hot and cold which was a bit annoying. Location is outside of the center but public transportation is fairly easy.
The hotel is old, the rooms are very small. We stayed there for 3 nights. On our second day, I lost my cellphone and I asked to make a call from a reception to the tech-service, to block my number. For 15 min call, I was charged for 51 Euro !!!! They didn't tell about their prices before I made the call. The hotel offers wifi, parking, bicycle rent and bowling. Everything for charge, nothing is for free (like we had in other hotels).
We had a nice, quiet stay of 4 days in this hotel. Friendly personel. Room all right and clean. Good breakfast, Although very near to the city, witch is easy to go to by bycicle, car or bus, very quiet surroundings. Only regret is that there is no opportunity to sit near te lake in comfortable chairs and an drink (especially in hot august).
