Very basic, relatively cheap, clean bed, furniture very dated.Close to "Checkpoint Charlie",5 minute walk to excellent metro system. Lovely little cafe adjacent to hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.
If you want a basic relatively cheap hotel with the bare necessities of a no frills hotel and clean bed then look no further! There are no drink facilities, vending machine at the small reception area, there is a soap / shampoo dispenser. Tiny Flat screen TV but you would not want to spend much time in the rooms anyway. Change of towels for each day would have been nice. Location OK for access to sights albeit not central and the working building site was obviously noisy each day except Sunday! Furniture is dated and drab but for a quick sightseeing trip just OK. Breakfast was same as the rooms basic but that was not a surprise. Staff helpful enough and pleasant.
This hotel is located v close to Checkpoint Charlie and the various attractions in the centre of Berlin. The price is good, and the beds are comfortable. Everything was nice and clean, they provided extra blankets because I was cold. The only annoyance was that building works are taking place directly opposite which start at around 7am. But this is a good alarm clock! Breakfast is offered - typical continental. Nothing too exciting but it is okay. Very friendly staff also. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, nothing fancy but a good location.
Excellent location for seeing the main sights of Berlin. An easy walk to Wall museums, and link to all the main attractions. We chose to walk everywhere on our first day, taking in the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag, Then the next day picked up the city tour bus to see such as the Cathedral. The hotel rooms and breakfasts were basic, but provided everything we needed, and as we would have expected for the price paid.
What to say! Disappointing!!!! No safe, no coffee facilities, no toiletries except soap/shampoo dispenser. Flat screen Tv? My computer screen is bigger. No air conditioning. Curtains don't close properly so you can't lie in. Had to ask for another pillow as you get one very soft one. Although the room was clean the furniture was extremely old, not like the photo. Most unfriendly staff except for the mature aged lady that booked us in on the 23rd,the young man was especially rude and unhelpful. The hotel is like walking into the 60's. The carpet look dirty and the dirty laundry lies at the end of the passage in a heap. They charged A$231 a night due to a marathon in town and onsite the same day advertised for A$109. Felt ripped off as they weren't even full. Most expensive stay! Breakfast hall is old and the breakfast is very basic... the only good thing was that it was central.
It is a budget hotel and we liked our stay. The location is strategic. In walking distance from main city attractions. 5 minutes to Checkpoint Charlie. 10-15 minutes to Alexander Platz. The rooms are very big and very clean. The beds are very comfortables. We had exactly what we expected.
I think this is a great spot as a solo traveler. It is only minutes walking distance to Checkpoint Charlie and many other important sites within 30 minutes walking. Plenty of food nearby. The room was basic with a single bed, small closet, chair and end tables. The bathroom was bright and clean with soaps and blow dryer. Overall, a nice small room for basically sleeping in and storing your belongings while you explore. This is first trip to Europe and was expecting small and tidy and this is what I got. The breakfast is a variety of breads, meats, cheeses, cereal, fruit, coffee and juices. Plenty to fill up on to start your day. If you are looking to spend your time in Berlin in your hotel room and not out and about, this might not be the place for you.
This hotel is very basic in all ways from the rooms to breakfast to the staff. My daughter and I stayed here for 1 night after spending 3 nights in an inter city hotel in Magdeburg. After the inter city experience, which for us was a brilliant hotel, then coming to this was such a fall in standards. The room..... had 2 beds with mattresses like jelly, there was no bin to put rubbish in, the bathroom was so small your knees touched the wall when on the loo, the bathroom constantly stank, the TV didn't work(not really a problem for us as we don't watch much TV) The breakfast..... there's plenty of choice here but the quality is really poor, it wouldn't cost much more to change to quality items. For me breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I won't go back to a hotel with a bad/cheap breakfast. The The staff.... I can't really say much about the staff because apart from check in and check out they pretty much ignore you, ok if that's the way you like it but it's nice to be acknowledged when you come in the doors. Though this hotel has a great location near to checkpoint Charlie and cheap prices, there's plenty more places to stay in Berlin.
Hotel itself is average, nothing fancy. Breakfast is rich enough for starting a good day. the main advantage to choose this hotel is great central location, few min walking from Checkpoint Charlie and of course the price which was decent. One important thing to mention is that we have booked in advance hotel shuttle to Airport on last day. We got the confirmation from the desk staff, but the shuttle didn't arrive and was not reachable over phone during early morning hours. Luckily we were able to book a taxi and get airport on time.
Hotel was about 8 minutes from checkpoint Charlie and metro. Not much around. But not a long walk to restaurants and sights. Rooms were clean and large. Was hot in the summer without air conditioning. Would recommend.
