Came to Berlin with a family for couple of days. The receptionist very polite and friendly. Been given parking permit badge but had some difficulty finding a space next to the hotel. Waited for a while for someone to leave as their are no designated spaces for hotel's guests. When walked into our room been very disappointed as it's nothing like in the picture! When we have booked everything looked different and here was dated (not broken but the looks of it) furniture, kids beds where old and nothing like we expected. Must say master bed looked good and mattress comfy but too soft for us (but that's to everyone's prefered choice ). Bathroom very small, not for a family (like we used to stay in previously). The room size good enough. However, the floors super sqeecky and if anyone steps even one step it seems the whole 3rd floor is aware of it. What we really liked was the lounge and dining area. Really nicely done (like it's in the pictures ), food it's super super nice, well presented, super tasty. The kitchen staff really friendly and nice. Was surprised to see smoothy in shot glasses and other deserts with fresh fruits and berries. Atmosphere really calm, no rush, real relaxation. The location was excellent for us as it has all shops near by, train station etc. And Zoo of Berlin just 15 min walk distance. If we weren't given such room we would have recommended and stayed at this hotel again but we didn't like the room so in the near future will look somewhere else to stay. P.s. maybe we were just "lucky" to get this room and others are exactly what they advertise.
I booked this hotel on the basis that they show they have a lift and thus are accessible. I then emailed them to confirm this and to check whether they had walk in shower-the assured me they did I then emailed them and asked about easy of access assuming from their picture there might be one step-they then mailed back twice and told me there were between 10-15 steps inside the door. On your website it says they have wheel chair access- their advertisement shows a front door with no steps. They failed to agree to refund the money which I think- I had paid in good faith under false pretences-I feel this is not very understanding at best -I have difficulty walking hence had double checked I think its very important hotels are honest with their access
Booked a room for two based on positive reviews, pictures online/from travellers seemed very flattering. The accommodation itself is in a really old building and everything creaks and makes weird sounds when you walk around. Elevator old as well. Rooms have ZERO soundproofing, i.e. if you're having a chat in your room, everyone in the hallway and the rooms next to you will be able to hear you. Believe me, listening to a Danish family arguing late at night in their room was a bother. The place is not a hotel, since there is no reception after 20:00, so you can't reach anybody if you need anything (pillows, trouble with the room etc). Also there is no room service. The room itself is OK, but no air conditioning meaning it is VERY hot and uncomfortable at night. Bathroom OK, shower too small for two people. We stayed for three (3) nights, bed sheets etc. weren't changed a single time. Towels were changed, since we left them on the floor. After the first night the cleaners had taken away two decorative pillows which were on the bed. Would have been nice to use them for leaning on maybe? No extra pillows in cupboard either. Breakfast was decent and filling. Seemed to lack basics such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, porridge and such. However, there was a nice selection of cheese. All in all, our stay was OK, but would definitely not stay at the hotel again, since it is in the simplest of terms a bed & breakfast, and not an actual hotel. For roughly ~120€/night you would and should expect more.
We spent a couple of night here and i ve found a very good relation quality and price, a really sumptuous breakfast and a lovely big room. Subway is just a walk away and many restaurant and bars are just nearby. I noticed that the reception door closes at certain time and nobody can assist customers after late afternoon. Anyhow I had a very good stay, strongly recomended.
Extra good and fresh breakfast. The cheesecake was extra good. Nice decoration and quiet room, comfort bed and big opened windows. Small and cosy Hotel. Easy to go from Tegel airport, take bus number 109. Warmly recommended.
Highly recommend Hotel Elba. We had a spacious room which was warm and comfy. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. Well located on the Ku'damm, good transport access into the city and to the airport. The breakfast buffet was amazing with lots of interesting choices - you could stay for ages eating tasty things. Only downside was two single beds instead of one double but we did like having separate duvets!
We stayed at Hotel Elba for four days this month and we would both highly recommend it. The room was clean and bright with a high ceiling and an ensuite bathroom. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and we were made to feel welcome. The breakfast is outstanding and well worth including in your plan at €9.50 per person per day. The variety on offer was amazing and the breakfast areas are lovely. It is about seven minutes walk to the station on the direct lines to both Spandau and Potsdam. If arriving by train turn left down the stairs following signs to Biebetreu Strasse. Big range of restaurant choices in the area of the hotel. I recommend Dick Wirtin for German traditional food and Saigon Green for Asian food.
Faboulous small hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly and didn't laugh at our bad attempt at German. Everything was spotless. The breakfast was so fresh and healthy with a good range of options. We would definitely stay again.
Near to Ku'damm. Old building but well renovated so quite cosy. Price is low and you can expect breakfast like in 5* hotel. For really low price. I was really delighted. Parking is outside just on the street what sometime may be difficult, but you can buy parking card in the hotel allowing you to park in certain district for 7 euro daily (what is really cheap in Berlin). Few bars and restaurants around. Very good choice.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Not a large bedroom but perfectly satisfactory for a 3 night stay, with plenty of storage, also very clean and comfortable and with a good en-suite shower. The real plus point though is the breakfast, an excellent selection of meats cheeses, egg, fish, fruit, cakes etc kept topped up throughout the session. And most unusually some extremely elegant "tasters" such as smoked salmon on half a boiled egg, with sauce drizzled over served in a little dish. The hotel is easily reached in 10-12 mins from S bahn Savignyplatz (catch Regional train from Schoenefeld and change at Zoo onto S-bahn for 1 stop or exit the station and catch bus 109 / 110 at the Zoo bus stop and travel 3 stops to haltstelle "Bleibtreustrasse" on Ku'damm, then it's just 2 mins round the corner.
