There was a state visit on our last day and we were confined to our room until 4pm. We had booked the hop on and hop off tour bus which was a 3 hour tour. We lost that money. It was our last day in Berlin and next day we were flying back to UK. The hotel didnt even compensate us. We asked to be transferred to their other hotel which was 5 mins away in taxi but they said they cant do anything.

This is a huge hotel. Very nice. However I wish at the time of booking I was made aware of 1) the spa and wellbeing centre being closed for refurbishment and 2) two large events taking place which meant noisy guests outside and in the early hours an articulated lorry loading up all the kit which meant for a bad nights sleep. The hotel is within walking distance to Potsdamer Platz and the Wintergarten theatre

The hotel is great but the front staff was extremely Unreasonable. I reached the reception around 12:30 pm in the afternoon, the person at the reception said you can only check in now as an early Check in and will Have to pay 90 Euros per hour For 3 hours as the check in time is 3:00 pm.

The JW in Berlin was elegant, relaxed, and perfect for our stay. The room was spacious and impeccable. The breakfast was probably the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. The pool and gym were fabulous. The location, on a quiet street lined with embassies, is great, top: A stone’s throw away from the Philharmonic, the gorgeous Gemäldegalerie and right next to the park. Thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome and so happy in Berlin!

Excellent hotel, nice but slightly small pool for a hotel of this size and with quite a few rooms. Breakfast options were plentiful however if you book in advance it is much cheaper. Walk up rate is over 40 euro per person. Highly recommend this hotel for comfort and for service.
