My wife and I spent 2 nights with a reservation. After arriving at the Friedrichstrasse Station from Wismar, we walked 200m northwest(crossing the Spree River) to this hotel. The entrance is a bit confusing because the actual check in is across the street at the upscale Hotel Albrechtshof. Arriving at 2PM, the English-speaking clerk was efficient, except our requested quiet upper floor double was not yet cleaned, so we strolled the neighboring streets. 40 minutes later we were on the elevator to our 2nd floor #286. Our new, efficiently designed bedroom featured 2 twins(put together) with nightstands and a small wardrobe unit. A long 2 walled shelf unit below the fixed wall flatscreen(cable with CNN and BBC) is the desk area with 2 chairs. The fully outfitted bathroom had a closed shower and a heated towel rack. The room was clean, beautifully finished with sporadic secured Wifi, 2 windows over a courtyard. Although we consider this hotel a bit expensive(no hot pot for coffee/tea, refrigerator, or safe), it is ideally situated for the city’s Museum Island.
I stayed there for one night on March 2017. Its main privileges are location, cleanness, and price. It seems that it is a new built hotel in a cozy alley near the train station. It is also pretty close to city center and touristic sites like Brandenburg Gate and many other attractions that you could go by foot. More than that, it is an economical choice (I paid 50$ for a single room). But, there was a big and even strange negative point: lack of refrigerator! How could you possibly imagine a minibar without refrigerator? you can find warm drinks waiting for travelers in this well located hotel in the heart of Berlin.
What I really love about the hotel is it's in the center and everything is in walking distance. The rooms are nice and its going to be a good five day vacation. Could stock the room better and maybe actually give the rooms queen size beds and covers?~
The hotelroom was a bit small but it wasn't expensive, especially given the location which is ideal (in the centre of Berlin, 15min walk from the Reichstag building/Bradenburg Gate and close to an important station). We did not have breakfast in the hotel because I thought it was too expensive (I think 12euros pp?). In stead we just bought breakfast in the station for less than half the price. Unfortunately our room was very warm and we had to leave the windows open. Our room faced the courtyard and there where loud guests with open windows also facing the courtyard so it was very noisy in our room (even until midnight). Despite having a double room we only got one pair of earplugs tho, which I thought was a bit odd. Nevertheless I would probably go back there because the rooms are so reasonably priced.
The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was good. The breakfast buffet was sufficient. There has parking, but they never told us that there was a fee to park until we checked out. The hotel has 2 parts, which are across the street from each other. You check in on one side, but you may be booked on the other side. The hotel is well located near the river and the train station. You can walk to many of the main sites in the city. You can also walk to the hop on hop off bus. There are many good restaurants and pubs in walking distance to the hotel. It is also an easy drive to the airport. I just wish I had more time in Berlin. I would stay there again.
The hotel was a great place to stay. The location was incredible - easy walk to a main u and s station and just one stop from many main attractions. It was very clean and the staff was all friendly. Only downside is that the bathrooms were small and gave the feel of a cruise ship the way they were setup.
A great price for a great location. Hotel was nice and clean, very simple. My only surprise was I thought breakfast was included and I was charged 15 Euro for it upon checking out. I should have looked into that beforehand though. Overall I would highly recommend if you are looking for a good room in a great location at a great price.
This clean, well presented budget hotel, is very well placed for the sights of Berlin. True the reception is across the road and we thought the breakfast was over priced at 25 euros for 2. But the room was basic but fine and clean, the free WIFI worked fine and in all we thought it was a great place to stay, if you did not wish to spend a fortune. The local restaurants had a much better range of meal options than the hotel (and FAR cheaper) and was a very short distance. I would advise travellers to use the many places in the train station at the end of the street for breakfast as they are all cooking fresh items and at less than 10 euros for 2 persons, bargain. Hotel is very easy to get to from the airports using the S Bahn and tickets are 3.40 euros (each, one way) the hotel is 100m from the station.
Fine place to stay for an overnight visit, flying in late one night and departing the next morning. Quite minimalist, but nothing to object to for an overnight stay. Breakfast had a good variety on offer too.
We have just come back from a 3 night stay here. I would say the hotel is basic but clean! The location is fab, really close to a major station for travel and has a few bars and restaurants around it! Great pub called the Berliner republic at the bottom on the street and next to that a great German traditional restaurant that we ate in. Loved our stay in Berlin! Would deffo recommend.
