This hotel looks good and is in a very attractive location, but the service level is very unstable. It took them several visits to the reception before they could accommodate our pre-ordered request for a double bed. They rented us a bicycle with a flat tire, and on several occasions the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. The fridge in the room was noisy and also froze all food. But I have to admit the breakfast is great.
Location is perfect for visiting Berlin. Nice shops and a great variety of restaurants in the area and many interesting art galleries near by. Also close to Alexander Platz and to all public transportation.
I have been staying many times at Amano hotel in the last years. I always found it confortable, good atmosphere e nice staff. This time (actually I skipped last year) it was different: some people of the staff no nice at all, breakfast worse than before, no facilities at all... What a pity! Next time in Berlin I wlll try a different hotel
This is the modern hotel close to many Berlin's attractions. For me, this hotel is convenient mostly for short or bussines visits. The hotel have neither any special test nor its own character. Avoid eating kunches overthere.
I stayed for 2 nights in hotel Amano, but do not recommend it at all.. It was too noisy, smell like it was smoked in the room, not really a good service at all, poor wi-fi connection. I really expected more from the hotel. But I could say that it is not bad for 1 or 2 nights stay.
Enjoyed the breakfast, the overall design Disliked: the reception forgot to tell about the wifi and did not want to speak German with me although I do not speak it worse than English and I found them frankly nice but totally impersonal, like machines, many tattooed waiters or receptionists is a detail but not classy (I mean a huge tattoo covering), the room was very dark and I'm afraid it was bad for my eyes spending so many hours working there, the cleaning staff entering my room on my last day at 8 am when I was about to have a shower made me furious. The man almost saw me naked. Would expected to have a kettle with tea in the room that should not ruin their budget. So overall good experience but might be improved on some things.
Within a walking distance for the main attractions if you are reasonably fit but the taxis are cheap enough and most drivers speak English well enough. Trams and trains are also easily accessed and well priced. There are several good bars and eateries a short distance away from the hotel as well as an ATM nearby. The room was good for the purpose of a stag weekend and was comfortable enough although I prefer an extra pillow for which you only had to ask. It was weird to have a glass fronted shower in the room with a mirror opposite so you could not escape the view - fine if you are either intimate or really friendly with your room mate - I had only met the guy I was sharing with that morning !!!! The room had a good safe , good television but no tea / coffee facilities. The bar was good but a warning that smoking and vaping are allowed so it gets a bit smelly for non-smokers. I did not try the restaurant but understood that breakfast was about 15 euros and was plentiful - I found a cafe nearby that was a lot cheaper and suited my needs. Staff were pleasant enough and helpful and I would stay here again.
Stayed here for New Year. This is a good place out of the way but just a short walk from the underground which is one of the easiest ways of getting around if you don’t like walking too far. The rooms are clean and comfortable the food is excellent and the drinks in the bar are very good but a little pricey. There is lots to see and do while in Berlin and the New Year celebrations are fantastic and would recommend to anyone.
This hotel is great value. The rooms are spotless and the beds very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. It is located very centrally and in easy walking distance of the underground. There are nice boutiques nearby and plenty of places to eat etc.
We booked this hotel on the basis of a review in the Telegraph and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was in good walking distance of many of Berlin's main attractions. Rooms were modern and functional - with the shower and the sink being in the room (toilet separate). They are not big but on a city break I don't think you spend much time in your room to worry. Friday night was our first night and the hotel was buzzing in the evening. It was clearly a very popular bar with locals and had a great night life which we very much enjoyed. The only disadvantage was that the hotel allows smoking inside the hotel bar (bouncers on the door) which to my understanding is unlawful in the EU(!!) and made it unbearable for us as non smokers to be in there - so we had our own private party in the hotel lobby. instead. The following 2 nights lost the locals and did not have the same vibe. We stayed room only and found it a very good value hotel for such a good city location.
