This hotel is located in the heart af Berlin. There eare a lot of Restaurants around and different interesting places. Service is very good, staff is friendly. Rooms are small but clean. Breakfast is ok. WIFI is just bad. I was there in business trip and it was disaster. I couldn’t manage skype calls. To catch the WILAN you should find a better place somewhere in the lobby or in the corridor. But if you don’t need to work or if you don’t use internet- this hotel is perfect place to stay and explore Berlin. For business travelers until they fix intert it is not a solution.
Our third trip to Berlin and we found the perfect hotel! Right in rosenthaler platz , convenient to everything. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating. Felix helped make our stay perfect. Will be our go to Berlin hotel!
Clean, nice rooms, cool design and very good location. Some really nice restaurants in the neighborhood and just a quick walk to get to Alexanderplatz. The staff were nice and it was good value for the money.
While the hotel is clean, it has a cold atmosphere. I as given an 'adjoining' room and could hear every word on the neighboring TV as well as conversations. The bathroom was difficult to use and the staff told me that, there had been criticism but change was not planned. Its' location is excellent.
A stunning hotel with a contemporary and fascinating design The room was Beautiful clean and large and the staff were courteous and very friendly and everything in the most perfect location in Berlin We really enjoyed what Mon had to offer
The location is super, half way between two underground stations and plenty of trams nearby too. We checked in late and I'm not sure you could describe the evening staff as service focused as the guy who checked us in around midnight couldn't have been less interested. He seemed more focused on the bar customers and was also sarcastic. We had asked for a high room overlooking the street but were allocated a room on the 1st floor overlooking the garden. Fail. And Mr Unhelpful could offer no solution. However, the two female receptionists the next morning couldn't have been more helpful and we were moved to a much better location albeit the same tiny size. The manager also said they would have a kettle for our room but this wasn't there when we moved but arrived after a chase up so that's ok. I have to say I was also no fan of the shower and sink being in the room as for €900 for a week it felt like a student bedsit lay out. My last criticism would be the entire lack of toiletries. This hotel has the accolade of being the only hotel of many I have visited with no bathroom provisions at all. No shampoo or conditioner. No shower cap. Come prepared because there is nothing aside from some hand soap in a dispenser. All in all we rated the location and the two female receptionists. We didn't rate the standard double room size (no apartments were available) or the low lighting or the poor evening service. Housekeeping also failed to remove used glassware on every day they serviced our room. By the time we checked out there were 7 waiting. Sorry Amano but I think you may be a little too focused on your perception of style over substance or service. I also had a reaction to the hotel linen but this happens to me from time to time and couldn't be something the hotel could remedy.
I checked into Hotel Amano back in May, as a first time traveler to Germany, and thought that the hotel was actually nice, on initial view. From the outside, and judging by the staff, it was definitely great; however, the room I found to be extremely tiny, probably the tiniest room I have ever had. The AC was not working, and due to the tiny size, I felt that it was most appropriate to move. I requested this but it was unfortunately not possible as the hotel was completely booked. Additionally, and most importantly, there was absolutely no wifi for me at the hotel, which I thought was peculiar, as I never had that problem anywhere before. The hotel staff did try to help with that, but they couldn't in the end and instead said that it was probably an issue with my phone. I left the hotel in the end (somewhere close to 1am!) as I couldn't really operate without wifi, and checked into a hotel across the street. I stayed at Weinmester (for which I will write a separate review - it was fantastic!), and there I had no troubles with wifi, the rooms were bigger, the service excellent, and generally a better experience. After leaving the Amano property I did request for one night to be canceled, due to the situation I faced at the hotel; but the hotel didn't allow it, not even budging to pay at a discounted rate, which I felt was a bit odd - considering all of the issues faced were out of my control, and only made for a bad experience overall.
Perfect location and modern nice interior. The only thing that was not so good was the service, and a bit noisy from the street since we lived at the first floor. The receptionists NEVER said hi, good morning etc. or smiled the entire stay (4 days), even though we passed them several times, strange. Second, we wanted to use the 5 euro voucher at our last day for some drinks in the afternoon, but that was not possible since we had checked out (!) that afternoon...nobody told us, and the receptionist said "we tell all guests that". They were so little humble, and they all should have a course in customer service... Anyway, we did`nt have much to do with the hotel, besides staying there, so our stay was still a good choice!
Check-in/check-out/service Making the booking directly with the hotel went fast and easy and our check-ins and outs were swift as well. The staff was generally friendly and helpful and the contact beforehand was always fast and on point. Room and cleanliness I stayed here before at one of the smaller Apartments, which was quite a bit bigger than the standard room this time. That being said it was not a tiny room at all, pretty sufficiently sized actually. The beds were normal and comfortable enough for a good night sleep and we had a big safety box to store all our valuables. No fridge though and a comparably small TV that hung a bit too far from the bed. The bathroom was small but very clean and the rest of it, just the shower tub was quite high and difficult to get in and out for smaller people. Our room faced the main road which made it impossible to open the windows at night but with everything closed the noise was almost entirely locked out. Great insulation. Unfortunately the aircon was more the warming type even that we set it to the coolest setting. Breakfast Breakfast was alright with eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, salad some cold cuts, bread and toast and as much coffee as you'd like. Location and price Locationwise this is hard to beat honestly. Right in the middle of Mitte with all sorts of transportation close by, restaurants, bars, shops and spätis right at hand. Even if it wasn't a nice hotel, which it is, for the price it's definitely worth it. I'd be back if back in Berlin anytime. Thanks for a nice stay.
We agreed to upgrade our room at a cost of E30 per night. The Room itself was excellent spacious and comfortable . BUT I must say I have stayed in 40 countries around the world with all sorts of star ratings and in my earlier working life some small outback hotels in Victoria Australia . Given this and I believe to have stayed in more than 1000 hotels/motels etc in the last 40 years THIS is the ONLY Hotel / Motel who did not did not supply any tea or coffee to me .Not even the cheapest Sachet of coffee or tea bag was supplied. Given My room cost E 780 for the six nights I think this is the worst experience of cost cutting by the management of an accommodation facility I have ever experienced.
