This place has charm, style and location all working in it's favor. I love staying places that have something a little different and includes a great breakfast...it had both of these. That said, we well paid for it and were a little horrified at the overall cost when we paid the bill...not sure it was worth it for us?!
We stayed in Berlin for two days in the beginning of January. Fortunately we've booked this exact hotel. It is located in the historic building and has a wonderful atmosphere! Recommended for sure. By the way - public parking is located right in front of the hotel. There is no restaurant in the hotel so you need to chose one of the great restaurants around, good news - there are plenty quite close. Spa is still under construction, pity but worth coming back to check it later.
The hotel really transports you into a different time. Really nice style, the staff is really friendly and the room was very cozy. Breakfast and coffee taste good and on weekends the breakfast has an even bigger selection. It is situated really close to Ku'damm so you have everything you need closeby. If you are tall I would recomment asking for a bed without a piece of wood at the end.
In slightly unfashionable Charlottenburg, a beautiful well-heeled neighbourhood of western Berlin, the Henry Hotel is old-fashioned without being shabby, grand without being expensive, comfortable without being stupidly "hotel-like." There's no idiotic throw at the bottom of the bed, but the rooms are high-ceilinged and spotless, comfortable and somehow homey. Huge windows and lots of light, nice breakfast. I'd stay there again in a flash.
Henrie Hotel has been recently renovated completely. It was done with very much style and care for every detail to preserve the truly great historic elements of the building and furniture. Henrie Hotel is conveniently located close to Kurfuerstendamm/ Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten in proximity to plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities. Completely quiet at night - especially with a room to the inner courtyard. Rooms vary in size due to the historic layout but come with all features you need. Large and clean bathrooms (completely renovated as well). Small but excellent breakfast selection - feels at home like in a kitchen. There are no real drawbacks but some minor points that prevent a five star ranking: Currently no gym/spa (in construction), 2nd staircase only for emergency usage, dusty and under construction. I'll certainly come again!
What an beautiful old hotel. We arrived tired from driving and later than our expected arrival time. The reception were absolutely lovely and we even received an upgrade to a larger room. Parking is available just across the street at a parking garage and reasonably priced. Situated close to some amazing restaurants and we managed to walk into the main tourist areas 2 days in a row. Room and bathroom were both awesome and also nice and quiet.
What a lovely hotel to find. Beautifully well kept and well furnished hotel. The reception staff were very helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Hotel in a good location for access to get train station and access to central Berlin. Lovely walk from the hotel through the park to the Brandenburg Tor.
If you arrive by plane to Berlin, currently you land at Tegel (TXL). You can easily take a bus 109, which runs every 10min most of the day and costs bit less €3. Ride is about 25-30min, jump off either Uhlandstr (U) or Ku'dam(Kurfürstendamm U). Meinekestr is just between them. Building is old looking, late 19th century, early 20th century style. There are several excellent local restaurants within few hundred meters and also global chains like Hard Rock Cafe. If you prefer shops there are plenty from Lidl to Burberry and Gucci. Upon on our arrival staff greeted us warmly welcome with good English, but kitchen people won't understand English, as I observed situation at breakfast. Incident though didn't cause any starvation. Staff is also dressed in old 1910-20's style. Our room was on the first floor, WiFi was super fast in the morning when downloading newspaper for breakfast. Room is equipped with fridge, which you can fill with drinks from reception or otherwise. Note that there is no air-condition, but it should not be a problem, unless temperatures hit well over 40c (105F), my assumption based other houses from same era. Room ceiling is at ca 4m (12ft) Good thing in the room is that there are enough power outlets to charge your phones, pads and cameras. Small coffee machine with complimentary coffee. TV screen was bit small, if you want to watch it from the bed. Best reality TV is get out of the room and experience Berlin. Scene of many movies. Generally you can hear slightly neighbour showering or walking in the corridor. Bathroom is normal with fair trade sugar cane shampoo & soap amenities in big dispensers. The walk in shower is really nice, spacious and first one that I have experienced without causing flooding in rest of the bathroom. Disadvantage in the shower was low water pressure, shower was like gentle summer rain, not a thunderstorm for sure. I missed the body lotion due security restrictions at airports. If lotion was available from reception, I missed the information. Breakfast is very good and it set in an old kitchen look-a-like area. It consists bacon, eggs (2 styles), orange juice, bread, croissants, cheeses, ham etc. Also fresh fruits and some kind smoothie/yogurt were available and müsli. Hot water was in old samovar, but coffee machine was a modern. Nice touch was also three different honeys. At breakfast room was an old time radio playing old time jazz. The paper tablet at tables tell story of Ku'damm area, unfortunately only in German. I highly recommend this hotel, due its location and magnificent small details that you won't find in big chain hotels, details that you need to live.
We choose Henri Hotel due to its very particular style, and we could not pick any better. The hotel has an excellent location, only 5 minutes walking from Kurfurstendam station and 10 minutes from Zoologischer Garten station. There are also many shops, restaurants and going out facilities in the area so everyone can find what they are looking for. We only stayed one night at Henri Hotel and chose to have breakfast which was a good idea as they had a wide variety of options and it was just delicious. The staff were also friendly and helpful without question.
The hotel is situated on a side street in Berlin West and is just 250 meters from the popular shopping street, the Ku'Damm. The hotel building is an Art Nouveau building from 1880. The hotel is partly renovated and there is still some works going on in the courtyard rooms. Our Salon room, which is the most spacious room type, was facing to the street. There are only three rooms per floor facing to the street. The other 14 rooms are facing to the courtyard. We got a Salon room from the 4th floor. There are some attic apartments on the 5th floor, but I don't know, if they are bookable. The room had high ceilings and was quite spacious. Except the bathroom, which was small but practical. We had a balcony with nice views. However there was no balcony furniture but we could see that other balconies had. A self-service fridge is available in all rooms. You can buy drinks from the reception or from Lidl nearly opposite to the hotel. There was a welcome bottle of water in the room. There was no air conditioning in the room and we kept the windows open during the night. The street was quite quiet, at least to the 4th floor. The tasty breakfast was served from the kitchen. There was plenty of space in the three adjoining halls. The breakfast costed 16 euros.
