Grand Hyatt Berlin5.0 out of 5.0

Perfect location...Staff and pool on the top floor...the Sushi bar was delicious and prepared with perfection. Chris made us feel very comfortable at the Bar....which had more selections to choose from than one could count
As a Diamond/Globalist I had a free night voucher that was about to expire. So thanks to the Hyatt rules I had to waste it in my home town. I figured we'll check out the Grand Hyatt so that we could potentially recommend it to friends. As a Globalist I should receive the best available room up to regular suites. When I got the notification that my room was ready (checked in online) there were regular suites available so in theory the upgrade could have been to a suite. It wasn't! It wasn't even to a Club deluxe room (which was advertised in the check-in area) but a standard room on the club floor. There was a significant amount of dust on the glass shelves in the bathroom. The living room however was clean. The welcome amenity was a bunch of green apples; the bare minimum I suppose. Breakfast was OK but was missing an organic corner or a Chinese/Japanese/Asian section. Since my Asian girlfriend is lactose-intolerant these sections significantly increase the selection for her. The Intercontinental Berlin or Hilton Berlin handle this part much better. We stopped in the club lounge for a few minutes in the evening but it was very crowded. Again, while the quality of the food was good the overall selection was rather limited. Free parking is another Globalist benefit on award stays. This hotel though seems to play games and wanted to charge us because even though they can charge parking on the bill and have their own ticket machine in the back office they claim they won't reimburse because it's not their own garage. At the price point for regular stays and the competition in the area we won't recommend the Grand Hyatt to friends. It's the shame because the quality of the room, the WiFi speed etc are up to Grand Hyatt standard.
I only stayed for one night at the Grand Hyatt. From the outside the hotel doesn’t look very elegant and also the lobby is rather on the modest side. The rooms however are beautiful and well furnished. I liked especially the bathroom with shower and bathtub in a separate compartment. Breakfast was very good with lots of varieties of all kind of foods provided. Also the restaurant serves great delicious dishes.
I booked this hotel as a special treat for my family as it was my wife's birthday. Hotel is in a great location just a 2 min walk from Postdamer Platz station. It is very nice inside, clean and stylish. the rooms are nice and modern, though a little small for what we paid for. The pool and spa facilities are excellent. Only real problem we had was the noise of cars and bikes revving their engines into the small hours outside on the small sidestreet next to our room. It was like staying next to a race circuit. If staying here make sure you request a quiet room away from the street!
Stayed for 2 nights for our first visit to Berlin. The hotel was absolutely first class - staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great for a short break. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Great pool area with sauna, steam room etc on the top floor with views out across the city. We didn’t eat in the hotel. Breakfast was pricey at nearly €40 each but plenty of options nearby. There are various restaurants within walking distance in Potsdamerplatz; and the public transport system serves the hotel well for going elsewhere in Berlin.
Visited for a long weekend excellent service, amenities and area. Great room, friendly staff, enjoyed the breakfast and lounge amenities. Afternoon tea in lounge was great even though focused on deserts. Very friendly ambassadors throughout.
Whenever I visit Berlin I always make a point to stay at the Grand Hyatt Berlin. I always enjoy the understated modern luxury. The staff is always very pleasant and eager to help without being intrusive. The location is superb. I cannot say enough good things about this Hyatt.
I stayed at Grand Hyatt Berlin for 2 nights during the Easter weekend. The staff were almost uniformly absolutely wonderful, the best I encountered at any hotels in Germany. I arrived from Dresden at 6a.m., where I had 550 euro of my cash stolen/displaced, and the hotel staff - the über-sweet Pia and the very helpful Assistant Night Manager, Christopher Ruge - rendered assistance in my hour of need and checked me in without any question (to room 550, coincidentally, which helped me laugh a bit). The Front Office Manager, Florian Baumann, was extremely kind, efficient and friendly in helping me try to locate the monies in Dresden (to no avail, sadly), and helped organise my needs in the room exactly as I needed them. I also much appreciated Florian's wit as he gave me a late check-out at 6p.m., again without any question. A couple of issues did arise with a restaurant staff person (whose name I didn't enquire) and the new Bar Manager, Chris, though the Restaurant Manager, Michaela, was very kind in helping resolve the former. I did move to another hotel in Berlin partly because of the Bar Manager, but I am confident the hotel has addressed the issue and I would be happy to return to Grand Hyatt Berlin on another occasion. A bartender, Franziska, was very sweet. The room was slightly smaller than I had envisaged, but it was very comfortable and the linens and towels were pristine white, and I quite liked the bathroom layout.
From the moment you enter the hotel until you leave the service is impeccable. Very kind and helpful staff, and they get things done. The room was nice and clean with very good beds. We slept like a king and queen during the whole stay. Would recommend to try the spa at the top of the building. A beutiful view from the pool where you can take a breather after a long day walking the streets of Berlin. If you want some peace and quiet go there when it's "child-free" hours. Highly recommend this hotel.
The Hotel is well located. We found the service good, the room excellent and the beds very comfortable. The food was plentiful, and well cooked and served, but service at times was intermittent, which for a Hotel of this caliber would need some attention.
