Grand Hyatt Berlin5.0 out of 5.0

The Grand Hyatt is a large five star hotel in a good location. The reception area was large and the staff is friendly. Our room was nice, with all the amenities you need. Even a tv in the badroom. The shower is nice. The tv (bang and olufsen) only showd like 15 channel, no pay per view. For a modern 5 star hotel i think this is not up to the standard. Although a nice bed, my bed shook a litthe when I moved in it. I think the beds in the Sheraton are on average a little bit better. The wellness area is really nice, with a wonderfull plunge pool to lower your body temperature after a sauna or steamroom visit. The swimmingpool is wonderfull. Be aware however that people in a wheelchair or with big difficulty to get up/down stairs will not be able to get to the pool, because it's only reachable by a staircase. For a 5 star hotel I really think this is a disgrace! For the rest I think the hotel is very good with helpfull and friendly staff.
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Berlin over New Year's and early January 2018. The hotel was well appointed, in a quiet neighborhood but next to several good malls and restaurants and coffee shops. It is across from the Philharmonic and near Mall of Berlin. What really set the hotel apart was the service. Prior to arriving, I communicated with the head concierge, Sebastian, who arranged several meal reservations for us. He also recommended a party for us to attend for New Year's with our teenagers. What a party! It was just a perfect New Year's Eve locale- in a warehouse by the river, with food and entertainment for our New Year's Eve. Sebastian was an integral part in making our visit to Berlin special. I also want to acknowledge Gabriela who took care of our check in and other amenities and gave us several good recommendations, and advice during our stay. We really loved our stay at the Grand Hyatt Berlin!
This was a family vacation. The service in the hotel is just something else and really distinguishes this particular hotel from all the rest. Everyone we interacted with was attentive and trying to be helpful. And happy to do so. The location is extraordinary and you can walk to a number of places nearby (restaurants, markets, stores, cinemas, bars, etc).
Stayed here for the weekend break in Berlin. Located in a nice surrounding with many eating options around it. The service is super, rooms are good size. I was upgraded to a larger room. Breakfast spread was also nice. Me and my wife had a great stay. Would definitely stay again when in Berlin next.
This is my second visit to the Grand Hyatt. It is in a great location: surrounded by shopping and restaurants, and walking distance from the Brandenburg Gate. The rooms are spectacular: high-tech, subdued, and sparklingly clean. The bed has a massive, soft duvet and abundant pillows. The bathroom is worthy of an architecture magazine. The club lounge has improved since my last stay: there is now a bit of warm food at dinner time, and—I think—a larger selection of drinks. The Club Olympus features an unparalleled rooftop pool, steam room, sauna, solarium, and fantastic views of the Philharmonic and beyond. The staff were all cheerful, accommodating, and remembered my name. The Grand Hyatt also offers exceptionally good value for money. It is a stylish, luxurious, and spacious hotel for about the same price as far less posh hotels. The only downsides: not much of a view from the rooms, but the view from Club Olympus compensates. Last time, there was a nice note from the manager and a small gift. This was noticeably absent this time. I wouldn’t otherwise care, but it was odd to get this one time but not the next. This was a very minir issue.
The Grand Hyatt is my hotel choice in Berlin. It has everything - international sophistication, friendly/helpful staff, quiet and comfortable rooms, and a great spa on the roof. It's also conveniently located and has good drinks and food. I will definitely keep coming back.
grate hotel grate location. wonderful staff. very nice rooms . staff always trying to help and always with a smile. one of the best hotels we have ever been. the view from the pool is Breathtaking. highly recomende
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Grand Hyatt Berlin. Check-in/check-out was very easy and the front desk was helpful in planning some sights to visit. The hotel is conveniently located to the Berlin Potsdamer Platz station (only a few minutes walk). There is also a nearby mall (basically across the street) for any shopping or eating needs. It's close to the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, and other points of interest. My favorite feature was the small tv in the bathroom since I love listening to music as I get ready. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Berlin.
Not the best service I have ever experienced, but location and rooms are good. The Taxi did not drive me until the main entrance, so there was no doorman, and wel in the hotel, noone to take the luggage to my hotelroom. In the restaurant we sat quite loong before we got service, and the staff was slow or even under staffed to serve the customers. It was loong waiting time to get drinks, and all service acctually. How ever i recoment the hotel because of its atmosphere and location. Rooms look good, and the beds are ok.
Grand Hyatt Berlin is one of the established favorites of Berlins "true" 5 star hotels according to international standards. It's conveniently located at Potsdamer Platz. The hotel delivers a consistent and reliable product and service offering and is a clear recommendation. Great facilities including conferencing as you would it expect in this category. Rooms are large and come with all features of an 5 star hotel. Very comfortable bed. Large and clean bathroom. The only slightly negative point is that there was only a soft renovation in the rooms since its opening almost some 20 years ago. Furniture etc. is still in pretty good shape, however the whole appearance including selected color schemes are not up to contemporary standard anymore. Great spa including gym and small pool on the top floor. Great breakfast buffet at the Vox restaurant. Please note that the Vox bar closes at 1 am during weekdays - rather early for Berlin.
- Walking distance to Potsdamer Platz
- Free WiFi and wired Internet in rooms and public areas
