Generator Berlin Prenzlauer Berg

Clean and tidy. But that's it. The Windows in the room don't open very much so it is very hot. The bar is more expensive than the city centre and it is very far out. The toilets and showers flood quite a lot which is unpleasant. The staff are very good. But there is no atmosphere here, the bar and cafe are empty and the Building is soulless. Seems more of a dead end motel than fun hostel.

I visited Berlin in April to see a band that was playing so we opted for the hostel nearest. I visited the other Generator hostel in Berlin while i was trying to find the bar crawl and found it to look a lot better than this Generator hostel. We checked in to find the private room that me and my friend booked wasnt available anymore so we gad to share with 6 other girls lol but saying that, i didnt mind as ive done it once before and we were given free breakfast everyday, 2 free drinks from the bar and a free locker key to say sorry :) The bar was awesome, lovely bar staff. Also reception were helpful and patient aa i had a lot of questions about tours and trams Xx

Direct train from the airport (S9). Located 15 min away by tram from Alexanderplatz and main attractions. Clean dorms (some have lockers) and restrooms. Hot water in showers (no door though for intimacy). Bar (Alex and Amy were friendly)and restaurant. Breakfast not included.

Went on a university trip with 35+ people.Only problems we found were the restaurant wasn't open in the evenings when we went and neither was the bar. The rooms were a good size and were all easily accessible. Does need a re vamp though!

Not a bad hostel but could definitely go with a renovation. In compared to other generators I've stayed at it's quite disappointing. Location is average- not much about but the tram/tram connection is really good. For a cheap weekend away it was good but I don't think I'd stay again.

Out of all generators ive stayed before this is actually the one i think is the best. Location is far from all the points of interest in berlin but there is a train station just in from of the hostel so you can go to anywhere from there. Good food options around and has also a great bar.

+ Not in the center, but right at an S-Bahn and tramway station. + Clean and comfortable. Great staff, 24h reception. + Restaurant and bar on ground floor. - 6 electric sockets for 8 beds. - Not so intimate showers (simple curtain, no door).

We was staying in Berlin for 5 days (4 nights) and we booked a two-person room with own bathroom. The room was really small but clean and modestly but sufficiently equiped (2 beds, 2 chairs, 1 little table, hanger with mirror and shelfs). It is hostel, so one have to expect it to be noisy. Especially when is the hostel as big as this one. Don't forget to pack pair of ear plugs. The good thing about the hostel is its accesibility by public transport. It is right near the S-Bahn station and Tram station. Another thing we appreciated was 24hour reception - so we could check in really late (we came after 23pm) and it was no problem. You can buy drinks and coffee at the reception practically 24/7, during the day is possible to visit café and bar opens at evening. At the bar you can buy burgers and pizza - not exactly gourmet experience, but not bad (they offer cheaper food at happy hours - check it).

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was good . The 6 girls dorm was pretty small but it was very clean . the shower and toilet are separated and both have a washing stand which was very convenient for busy morning . Location was great . walking distance to everywhere . train station is nearby and many restaurant around . You can store the luggage before and after the check in and out for free . Only negative thing is there was a big group . was very noisy . Was good for 2 nights .

I was visiting a few friends who were staying near alexanderplatz, I initially opted for a mixed room but when I arrived was uncomfortably roomed with 3 older males (I am a 21 year old female) I decided I was uncomfortable and asked to pay for a female room, for only 10 extra Euros the front desk allowed me to room in an all female room where I met some awesome girls. The cages under the bed allow for locking your gear. Food was not good, I ate elsewhere for breakfast each day. The room is super loud so be mindful of your roommates when coming in after a night out!
