The house was at the best location it could be. I was visiting with my parents and I was is a wheelchair user, so it was important that the flat was as accessible as possible. She can do some steps, so the step going in the shower was not a problem, but the flat was small and cozy, so it didn't bother us. The elevator closer to the flat was not working, but thankfully another elevator around the block was working, so we could get in the flat. The first two days the heating in the bedroom was also not working, so it was rather cold at night, but Alessandra got us a movable heating fan the following day, until the handyman could come and fix the heating. When it was fixed, the heating was working super well and the flat got very warm. Thanks for the hospitality Alessandra!

The apartment is in a fantastic location. As other reviews mentioned, the apartment could use a refresh in bedding (pillows) and the seating in the living room is very uncomfortable. Additionally, the closet door is broken/couldn't be opened all the way, which meant we could only use 1/3 of the closet. In this apartment, the closet had the only drawers/places to store your clothes. We ended up using the dining table to lay our clothes out, which was not ideal.

Prime Location, Stunning View, Let Down by Poor Maintenance and HostingThis apartment boasts a central, quiet location with a beautiful view, and is very quiet, but neglect of basic amenities spoils the experience. The kitchen lacks wine glasses, has chipped crockery, and a long-broken kitchen light despite prior reviews flagging it. The bench top cutlery holder has no knives— flimsy red ones found elsewhere.Bedding is inadequate for a double bed, with just two thin single duvets that slip off at night. Pretty miserable for a couple. Towels are cheap, thin and the few provided were insufficient for our 6-day stay. We requested more linen through Johansen the greeter, who contacted the host, but we received no response or action—extremely disappointing.Photos are deceptive: the large speakers pictured don’t work, so bring a Bluetooth speaker if you need music. Bedside “tables” are merely solid wooden blocks, offering no practical storage. The mirror wardrobe doors are broken and the left hand side jumped off its tracks. Most of the outstanding issues a handyman could fix quickly with minimal cost.With a little care and investment, this could be a fantastic rental. As it stands, only two stars.

Nice area, not a penthouse

While area and communication were wonderful, the listing was a bit misleading. This is a one-bedroom flat on the top floor, not a penthouse and certainly not an exclusive penthouse. Parking onsite is also listed, which is actually not true. Street parking is available for a hefty price, if you can find a spot. Local metro is close, affordable and easy to navigate

The location is superb - close to attractions, restaurants and shops.Excellent for 2 people.Beds were a bit uncomfortable and some of the amenities need upgrading ie: toilet seat.The host was very quick to respond to inquiries.

Great location

This place is in a fantastic location. So close to everything you can walk. It does have everything you need. However there are a few things to work on. The shower is disconnecting from the wall, it’s rusted through. The futon is uncomfortable to sit on as a couch. The dining chairs are so small and hard they too are uncountable so we brought in the outside chairs. The bed is good but needs new pillows.

Basically good but could be improved.

Very good location and the apartment was a good size; however, the general décor and facilities could be improved; broken shower, TV didn’t work, cracked mirror, curtains hooks loose, etc. There was also a strong smell of tobacco in the apartment that took a couple of days to clear.Overall, it was an enjoyable stay as the location is excellent and apartment was basically good but it didn’t give a good impression on arrival and I do think the price was a little high given the tired furnishing and décor. Regarding the check-in, I’d suggest the owner makes clear that they communicate via Whatapp for the check-in (and not just assume that everyone uses this app).

Great location

The apartment was small but clean and efficient. 10 min walk to grocery store, about 6 minutes to the Stadtmitte subway. Many excellent restaurants within blocks. We had a perfect stay in Berlin. We had perfect weather so never needed to check out the heat/ac. In fact, we just had the windows open - not even noisy despite being so central.

Location great. Elevator a lifesaver. Poor connection with man with keys upon arrival. Was not informed parking on street cost Euro 4.00 an hour!!! Stove didn't work - NO Instructions. NO microwave. NO info on recycling. One of glass doors on Schrank in bedroom was cracked. Shower didn't function properly. We survived, but will NOT return to this apt.

Fun un Unter de Linden

We so very much enjoyed Berlin-- fascinating city with a tortured and difficult history (e.g. Fascism, WWII destruction, Berlin Wall). Our visit was even more enjoyable-- with the conveniently located and comfortable apartment. It was perfect for a couple-- the kitchen had all we needed and the bathroom was clean and well kept.

Nice stay in Berlin

Alessandra’s apartment was exactly as advertised. It was in a good location, near public transportation, and with many restaurants, grocery stores, and sites nearby. The apartment was well-equipped, and the washing machine worked very well. It was very hot during our stay, and without air conditioning, we attempted to sleep with windows open, but it was rather noisy from activity on the streets below. Our host was very responsive at all times.

Great location for history buffs

Easy access to Stadmitte uban, makes the whole city available to you.´ The lift was welcome to get us and our luggage to the apartment. The Rewe grocery store nearby provided everything we needed.´ The neighborhood is interesting with good restaurants and sites to visit nearby.

L’appartement est bien situé, tout près d’une station de métro. Lit confortable. Quelques ajouts rendraient l’expérience de séjour plus agréable, par exemple un petit cahier expliquant le fonctionnement du four (pour les non-européens), un couteau de chef, des couteaux bien aiguisés et une deuxième coupe à vin. Autrement nous avons apprécié l’appartement, qu’on nous a permis de prendre plus tôt que prévu pour encaisser le décalage du voyage transatlantique. Merci beaucoup pour cela!

Check Point Charlie Pros and Cons

Pros. Right next to Check Point Charlie, great coffee and restaurants in the area, close to numerous public transit options (bus, subway etc), really safe keycard access (door and elevator) building on a quiet street, great communication and easy check-in. We had a few issues but they were quickly and professionally dealt with. Everything in the apartment as advertised - appliances, etc. Cons - while all as advertised, the apartment has seen better days. The shower riser was broken and the heads almost totally calcified, the chairs and sofa were very uncomfortable (but we didn’t really come to Berlin to hang out in the apartment), the wood floor is trashed (the uncomfortable sofa becomes a reasonably comfortable bed) and it wasn’t super clean. However the price and location were pretty good, and other than the shower and the tortuous seating we were mostly pleased.

Perfect place

Loved this cute apartment. It’s one block from Checkpoint Charlie, museums and restaurants. Check in and communication with the owners could not have been easier. Would love to come back and stay again as we would love more time in this beautiful, vibrant city. We recommend a lovely restaurant down the block Veli’s Restaurant. Very good variety of food including German. We enjoyed everything we ate there. When we come back we would love to stay here again.

Great Place

Location worked well for getting around, either on foot or by taxi/Uber/Bolt. Apartment had the necessities that I needed. They had a snafu when I arrived in that the unit hadn't yet been cleaned. It was promptly cleaned. I just ran to the grocery store while it was being cleaned. When you enter, the lock is a little tricky. Be sure and try it while Eric is there. I thought I was going to be sleeping in the hallway the first night but a neighbor kindly helped me. After that, I got the hang of it.
