I definitely had a great time there, the best breakfast and a lovely restaurant made everything be even better. Also super clean and very good located. I stayed for 3 nights, the bed was the most comfortable and cozy ever cause they have technogel mattress, it made a huge difference. I highly recommend and for sure I’ll be back.
I stayed at the Ellington for four nights over Easter and really can't fault it. Check-in was quick and efficient, the room was clean and tidy. Everything worked and the location of the hotel was very convenient. It was great value as well, although I did book well in advance.
Clean, good high standard room, modern twist character... all white in room... fresh towels every days and bed sheet... will upgrade the room on next visit for more space in the room, well spotted and few mins to walk to zoogarten station for ICE to Schönefeld airport and is in shopping area and few mins walk to gay area Schöneberg
Nice modern and efficient hotel in the heart of Berlin. Loads of shopping next to the hotel. Rooms are modern and clean. Nicely appointed and decent size for Berlin. Staff is lovely and accommodating. Breakfast is superb. Would stay here again.
Nice hotel. The location isn't close to the centre but you can walk to the train station to get to. Rooms were strange. The shower was in the bedroom. Be warned if sharing with someone. Very clean rooms and a good rate. Would stay again. Just a shame it's not closer!
Spent two nights at this hotel on our trip to Berlin. Although it is a huge and old hotel I must say I never felt it was crowded since staff was very proactive, efficient and kind. The hotel was recently renovated as a matter of fact our room was really modern although a bit small. Bathroom was split in three different places so the wc was in a very tiny room and in the corner the sink probably next to the bed and a tiny shower. Location was awesome close you’ll find different fashion stores and the subway just a few blocks. Breakfast was a bit expensive but just in front there is a bakery where you can get coffe and delicious pastries at affordable prices.
For the 4th time in a hotel that I will always pick for my travel to Berlin. Great location, Great Staff, Great Breakfast and Great possibilities to reach the Fair without any problem. So till next year then!
The hotel has an amazing location close to the main shopping area and restaurants. The check in and check out processes were one of the best I have experienced in years. Very smooth and efficient. The downside was the size of room barely 16sqm which is the size of an IBIS but one pays twice to three times as much. In addition i found it strange in this day and age that a room is not equipped with a safe and one needs to go downstairs. the plus side in the room was the separate toilet. On the other side a minus would be the fact that the curtains do not keep the daylight out and therefore if travelling transatlantic one struggles unless you do not wear an eye piece. I would say if two people are staying in the room for more than one night it could be challenging as there is no wardrobe space nor a luggage bench in the room. Also there are no sheers so if you come out of the shower the neighbours have a full erotic show Must also compliment the housekeeping service.
My wife and I stayed here for an elongated weekend in February 2018 In my opinion the Hotel Ellington is ideally situated if you are in Berlin, with an intend to shop until you drop. Located near Kaufhaus des Westens (abr. KaDeWe) - literally meaning the shopping house of the West and the Kurfürsten Dam (a 3 KM long shopping street), you will not find yourself in lack of shops in which to spend money. The hotel in itself is very nice. I do not know whether place was built as a hotel or not, but it does have an old-world feeling about it. - That is, until you enter the rooms which are very modern. Other reviews state that the rooms are a bit "odd", and I tend to agree - but in the same sentence, I would like to emphasize that the "oddity" is by no means weird. The thing is that the rooms (at least the one we stayed in) has and open floorplan. This means that the bathroom and the sleeping room are the same, as there are no doors between them. In fact, one person could be soaking in the tub while still in conversation with a person sitting on the bed. My wife and I found the quite charming actually. Please understand that the restroom (or whatever you would like to call it) in itself is in a separate room, and thus you do not have get... ehm... "too familiar" with each other - if you understand my meaning. Apart from the open floorplan, the room was very nice. The bed was excellent, the cleaning very acceptable and the staff very helpful and pleasant. We did not use the hotel restaurant for either breakfast, lunch or dinner, so I cannot attest to the quality of the kitchen. - However, we did have some very nice drinks at the bar. All in all: I can highly recommend the Ellington Hotel.
Hotel is in central location very close to major attractions and high street shops. Efficient and professional check in. Room, shower and wc were extremely small and not of 4 star standards. Empty body shower dispenser. Breakfast buffet was nice and had a great choice with good quality. For me the room was a disappointment.
